I under stand some of the lights to the units was turned off. When I first got a unit there was a person working on his car.

The move out date was 1-31-2021. The storage unit was broken into 3 time's and attempted break-in two other times. The roof leaked causing damage to some of my stored items. Rat infested as rat droppings were over most of the top stored items and some items, like papers and some clothing was eaten through. For some reason they have never put up camera's to try to catch the different thieves, even after being broken into numerous times. I would recommend that someone from your company go and talk or text some of the customers that are using the storage units there. I have the feeling that after you do, you will require them to either get it in shape or you will decide to take the good U-haul name off of these units.

Someone attempted to break into my unit but luckily I had 2 separate locks on my unit and only one was damaged. It was fairly difficult to get to my unit which was located on the far, back side of the facility and since there was no lighting inside the unit, I didn't feel safe going there after dark. Also, I went to place a load of items into my unit on one occasion and couldn't get in because the lock code had changed and no one had informed me that the code had changed. I tried to call for assistance, but couldn't get in touch with anyone at the time. That was honestly a huge inconvenience. Other than that and someone trying to break into my unit, things got better and I was sent text messages about future lock code changes.

I attempted to contact Granite Falls Self Storage several times with no luck speaking to anyone, so I requested to transfer my rental elsewhere. Very disappointed with this facility.

the facility seems to be under new ownership and there was no one at the site, and no answer to phone calls to the number posted. We chose another U-Haul storage site with better results.

No security, less than a week after I first rented the unit it was broken into and anything of value was stolen , over $ 3,000 in total , no camera system that works so no way to catch the thief .

All in all an okay experience. We used the facility soon after a snowfall, and nothing had been cleared, and the parking lot was very dark.
