The staff was unprepared for renting out a uhaul. It took about fifty minutes from when I arrived before I could leave with the truck. The truck was dirty and was also missing the dolly and furniture pads that I ordered. The staff told me that they would refund me, but as far as I know they took no actions to do so, and I had to call customer service to get a refund.Ryan D.
Truck was filthy dirty, stunk of cigarette smoke, and could not see out of the windshield due to excessive bugs splatters. I cleaned up the interior, cleaned the windshields, added quart of motor oil, serviced all tires to recommended 90 psi, and installed odor cleansing agent to make the truck livable & drivable.Ronald G.

The inside had a bunch of grass and dirt when I first picked it up. Also, when I went to drop off the key there was no uhaul drop box for the after hoursPatrick R.
Nothing, it was perfect and exactly what. I needed. The pickup location was not glamorous ( what gas station is) but it made up for the glamour because of the convenient location and the lady was very helpful. I booked online with my phone and the Uhaul was ready for me to inspect almost instantly.Vicki F.

At the last minute, my drop off location was changed by U-Haul. The new location was a convenience store, not in my town. When I got there the store clerk seemed confused when I said I was dropping off a U-Haul . I then asked him if I could pay for the remainder of the rental with either cash, or another credit card. The credit card on file when I made the reservation was a family members, and I did not want that card to be charge for the remainder of the rental. Not sure he understood what I was trying to say. Then I realize that English was his second languageâ€¦we had some difficulty communicating. He then proceeded to go out to the truck and check mileage & etc. The clerk was gone a very long timeâ€¦not really sure what he was doing? When he came back in, he informed me that I had put over 5000 miles on the vehicle?? Wanted to know where I was coming from. I told him I had only put on 100 miles?? Coming from Tacoma area. I showed him a picture (before/after) on the odometer. Which he then told me my picture was incorrect, and the mileage number on the printed paperwork he had was accurateâ€¦which was 5000+ miles??? I told him absolutely not, and not wanting to argue, I then proceeded to tell him I would call corporate and close out my reservation through you/them. And I did. However on the phone, in the middle of closing out my reservation with one of your customer service representatives, the store clerk closed the rental himself??? In doing so, he went ahead and charged the card on file. Which I specifically asked him not to do since it was not my credit card. So unfortunately after having several rentals with U-Haul in the past, this one was not a very good experience and I would NOT recommend this drop off location. Jacob, the service manager for the area went above and beyond to help me. I had a reservation at R&B Automotive. Showed up early, they said that the truck I reserved was two days late and wanted me to wait two hours. I called the Uhaul call center and they set me up with another pick up in Aberdeen.I encountered more problems there and was referred to Jacob who went well out of his way to take care of me and get me on the road! The owner charged me for insurance I did not sign up for. The truck had dust and dirt all over the dash, cup holders and floor. Thankfully customer service was excellent and refunded me partial monies I never should have been charged!Edward M.

We had driven past the location, not knowing which lane to get in and when we were coming back around, some guy cut us off and and then started following us. Turns out the guy was the man from the Uhaul we were dropping off at. Then he tells me he is charging an extra $58 to my bill and he would email me the invoice. the man who answered the phone hardly spoke English and he was almost refusing to give us our deposit back. on top of that he was extremely rude and unpleasant to us for no reason. it took us two days to actually get in contact with someone who could help us and give us our deposit back.Shayd W.
One of the worst experiences with U-Haul ever. Couldn't get the truck at the location I reserved it at, then had to get a truck larger than needed cause what I reserved wasn't available, and was told I'd only be charged for the smaller truck. That was not honored and was charged for the larger truck. When I contacted them about it per their directions, I never heard back. Very very unhappy.Brian B.

Ordered online for a 26 foot truck. They only had a 20 foot truck available. Every item I ordered to pick up in Aberdeen, Washington was not available including a car hauler and an open trailer with a ramp. We had to drive 200 miles one way to pick up the car hauler! This is ridiculous! Just cancelled the open trailer with ramp.Michael W.

There were opened sodas in the cupholder of the uhaul. It sounded like something was wrong with the uhaul. Also- when we went to pick it up the cashier had to call someone on the phone, then he talked to us, didn't announce who he was then verified who I was and asked the cashier to take a copy of my debit card. Clean the interior of the trucks every once in awhile. I was also charged for the safe move coverage when I decline all coverage when I reserved it. I was also told to bring the uhaul back to the original location and they would give me free miles but I was charged the miles.Michael M.
The owner showed up exactly when I was scheduled to rent the truck so I had to wait for him to check it back in from the previous night's drop off and then he couldn't find the keys for 40 minutes when he finally rented me a truck that was twice the size I requested and used way more gas than the 10 foot truck I reserved would have used and started my day 40 minutes behind.Jason R.

The clerk was not familiar with any of the procedures for checking in the U-Haul truck. Did not know what to do regarding the broken gas cap. Her manager would be over an hour before being able to get there. Once I called (800) GO UHAUL, they took care of everything. They sent a local mechanic person who arrived within 10 minutes who was able to remove the cap and said they would make a report. I was able then to fill with it gas and turn in the truck.Helen M.

When I arrived the man who rents the trucks was not there. We had to do the transaction over the phone with difficult communication problems between the clerk, the man renting to us and myself. I was given no paperwork. The girl working the gas station was kind and helpful but not comfortable driving the trucks so I had to move all of them to get mine from the back. We were in a great rush so we left as soon as we were able after I had parked the trucks again. We stopped at home to get a hand truck and furniture dolly. When we got on the road we realized the truck had less than 1/8 tank of gas. When we attempted to load the equipment we realized there was a combination lock on the truck. After many calls we were told that he did not know the combination so I cut the lock. The truck had all of the location's moving blankets. We dropped those off and finally got on the road 2 hours late. The truck was very jerky and ran poorly in haul mode. It was running so poorly that my daughter was in tears for the entire 80 mile trip. It was a very miserable day.Grace C.

Seemed very unprofessional. They would not look over the truck with me or mileage. I did the quick pick up on the U-Haul site and it took the girl at the location 30 minutes to get me the truck. She had to write all my information down in a notebook. Seemed kind of shady. When I got back with the truck a different girl wanted to inspect the truck but never did an inspection before and she wouldn't let me go with her when I got back. Would not rent from this location again.Bj M.
I dropped off the truck and car carrier two days before the guy (manager?) showed up. In all I had to make 3 trips to get all the paper work done. He also had me (made me) pay more money then what the contract called for. He "said" that I had gone 7 miles longer that I should have. But I turned it in about 75-100 closer then I had planed to turn it in at. It also took about 30-45 mins (and 2 days) to get it all taken care of. This last part was so stressful on me and my friend that I was staying with. She ended up driving me to the gas station because I am new to this town. Very inconvenient for her, her husband and myself. We had planed to turn it in right by the storage spot I'm now using but the store stoped working with u-haul. So I had to go to the gas station that was a pain.Sue M.

Jackie was very nice, gave us a 10ft rate on a 15ft truck because he didn't have the smaller truck available the day we needed the day we moved. He said he wouldn't charge us extra to bring the truck back the next morning if we needed it. We ended up bringing it back that night but that was an option. I would recommend this location very easy to deal with and gave us the rate he promised.melinda H.
This was an older email that I am just now getting to. I had a HORRIBLE experience with this owner. He offered us $25.00 a day and then charged us almost $180.00 for three days. He was rude and refused to speak to me and would only speak to my husband. His words quote unquote. My reservation was set for a different location to start with. Man at Harbor mobile called and said i needed to pick up equipment a day early (& within the hour). Gave me an extra day free but still had to find a place to store the truck until the next day. Man was kinda pushy and not at all friendly. I had a reservation for 11:00am and showed up right at 11:00 am to pick up the van. The owner wasn't there and the clerk working the gas station knew nothing about the reservation. She called him and he said he was driving and was getting there as quickly as possible. It took him 50 mins to arrive, didn't apologize, and acted like I was inconveniencing him by just renting from him. He claimed to need to call headquarters and check if it was OK to rent the van because the change oil light was on, but I doubt he needed their permission for me to drive the van for a 10 mile trip. At 12:00 I had the keys and I took a moment to complain about being made to wait so long when the reservation was for 11:00 and he became very defensive and said he lives in Chehalis. I told him we verified the time yesterday and he said "well, I'm a very busy man". After 3-4 mins of yelling, he said "look at all the time you've wasted arguing with me!" I was livid and told him "5 mins is nothing compared to the 50 mins of time you made me waste waiting for your to even get here this morning". This guy was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. A simple apology like "sorry, traffic was bad" or "sorry, I spaced on the time" would have changed the entire experience, but this guy decided to roll in and act like an a**.Louise B.

Miscommunication between corporate and location. I said that I would be there by 6:30 p.m. The location was going by online info of 5:00 p.m. I get a call at 6:00 p.m. because rental person wanted to go home for the day (hours posted were until 7:00 p.m.). Luckily I was only a short distance away. But overall, bad vibe. The truck cab was dusty and had stuff from previous renter within. When I returned the truck I had pulled in to the pump to put in some fuel. The renting agent suddenly opened the cab and began taking information. I still 'owned' the vehicle and I found it kind of rude that he didn't ask. The overall experience of this location was not good. I tried to avoid it due to its 3-star rating but the hours (theoretically) worked better for me.Doris R.

I understand that the owner was out of town, but it makes me incredibly uncomfortable that my personal information (drivers licence, debit card, and addresses) was written down on a piece of paper and saved for the owner. When I went to drop off the truck no one could give me a receipt? I now have 2 pending charges on my account? I am hoping one drops off tonight? I just found it exrtreamly unprofessional. I was told if I paid cash I wouldn't have to pay taxes? Also taking a copy of my drivers licence and debit card just makes me think it's sketchy. I will never use this location again. The truck was filthy. The U-Haul manager said there was a homeless person living in it and he did not clean it out because it was not his responsibilty and we needed to just work around the mess he left. When we opened the back door after arriving at the house there was a hyperdermic needle in the middle of the floor, which we had to dispose of. Also, the mileage on the contract agreement and the gas amount were incorrect, which I did not not notice until I arrived at the house later, which was only four miles from where we got the truck. I called him and he said he knew they were incorrect. The contract showed the gas was 3/4 full but it was actually below half. He said I would be responsible for bringing it to 1/2 full. When I returned the truck, I said I only drove 8 miles total, and it was below 1/2 when I got it. I took a picture of the mileage and level of gas, which showed I had only driven 4 miles at the time and 8 miles round trip, which is maybe 1 gallon of gas but he made me pay to bring it to half full. This guy is dishonest and I will never do business with him or U-Haul again if this is what I can expect from your company.Walter K.

They said the truck was full and it did look full however I only drive 9 miles and the truck took 8 gallons to fill it up. I know the truck gets better than 1mpg. I calmly explained this to the merchant who told me full is full and he would not reimburse me the amount and the I must be wrong. Even after I slowly explained the math. I have used uhaul all over the place and only used this place because it was open later than my normal place. I Will NOT ever rent from this location again.Matthew H.

First, the location address is a Mobil station, not a Shell station. The person who handles the U-Haul rentals is not customer-oriented in any way. He was an hour and 15 minutes late for our pick-up time. He is extremely slow in handling his business and not in the least apologetic about delays. He does business according to his own convenience. He is rude and overbearing to his employee. I would strongly recommend anyone needing to rent a U-Haul to rent somewhere else.Delores G.

I was so upset as I had a dead line to pick up the items I rented the truck for! Maybe you should look at this, and give the "service" to another business in town. The attendant or owner was late to work and while I had a confirmed 9am reservation he told the girl at the station that I would need to wait for him to get there in 30 min. I was paying movers $65/hour. He then he had his worker write my WADL #, name, address, birthdate, credit card number, exp date and the 3 digit code on the back down on a piece of notebook paper. This was very questionable and even though I took the paper when I finally got to pay I know multiple COPIES of my CC and DL were taken. I was never asked to check out the truck or sign for it. The girl at the counter just gave me the keys. I took pertinent pictures because the experience thus far felt very wrong. I finally drove off the property at 9:40am. The owner then called me 2 separate times telling me my card was bad even though it was his ineptitude causing the problem. I brought the truck back at 1pm and took another 30 min out of my day only to be accused of trying to pay with a maxed out card again. He even went so far as to ask me how much was actually on the card. This was very unprofessional and quite embarrassing as other customers in the store overheard the conversation. Finally at 1:30 pm I couldn't wait any longer as I had people waiting on me so I left again and told him I would come back after he fixed the problem. At 5pm I came back to finalize the payment. The owner had to call someone because he still couldn't get it to work. That person finally determined that the owner never actually rented the truck to me. Finally with this problem fixed they were able to charge the original card and I was on my way at 5:35pm. So in total I spent an 1.75 hours just trying to rent and pay for the truck. It also cost me an additional $75 for the movers.Michelle K.
