When I booked. The very helpful lady at this location quoted me a price. When I said boy that’s high she said not to worry. When I brought the truck back I would be credited for the extra almost 200 miles that was on my quote and also any unused days. So it would be about 200 less. Great I thought and I went on my merry way. When my granddaughter picked up the U-Haul they charged 240 more than my quote. I told her to pick it up anyway would take care of it on my end. I went back to this location. The clerk was very nice. I showed her a picture of the price and she said she would adjust it when we brought it in. I thought great. She mentioned that I might not be able to get a refund on the extra days. Okay. We brought it back and she said she could only do 200. Okay. I didn’t want to stand there and argue. Just wanted it over. So we left. I remembered about the mileage and went back. She said oh I gave you 200 so we are good. I said no that was for the over charge from my booking not for the mileage. She said same thing. No not the same thing. Then she said again you got your 200. I again repeated the was for the booking I over charge. She said oh they don’t change what the mileage is. I reminded her that she told me it would be done and she said that I must have misunderstood her. I did not. I very clearly remember the conversation because she said it would bring my total down to around 1500. Hard to misunderstand that. I called customer service on Saturday. I wanted to find out what the policy actually was. He said that they do not adjust the mileage for out of town and one way rentals. But that he would forward my call to be looked at for a possible review. I have not heard anything yet. I am still holding out hope that they will make this right. Why would they automatically charge almost 150 miles extra? How could that be right? They check the mileage when you bring it back and charge for any extra miles so it’s not like I would be getting away with not paying. This whole experience has been very frustrating
