The owner of this location came in after hours to help out. I believe her name was Hayley (sp?). She did amazing. My only complaint is that the seal on the dolly was broken before I got it. Was never used as I had my own to use. The owner of this location was informed of broken seal as soon as it was discovered. She said she would take care of it as long as I didn't use it which I did NOT.

I had issues picking up my truck and the owner texted me stating I was “flipping out”. Blankets were missing and there was miscommunication about how to obtain keys. I had to call the 24/7 UHAUL customer service for assistance.

The dirt parking lot is like driving on the surface of the moon. potholes and craters everywhere. NOT friendly to cars that have low clearance. The building had cobwebs everywhere. I walked into a spiderweb at the window of the office.

We initially rented the truck from a place in town for the convenience and we were switched to the Hwy 21 location. My husband called the place where we made the reservation and they said U-Haul does this all the time. So we called to confirm that someone would be there when we picked up the truck. The person we talked to was going to be out of town not only when we wanted to pick up the truck, but when we needed to drop it off after we were finished moving. She didn't have any substitutes scheduled so we had to use the app which was VERY confusing. We ended up calling the initial place we rented from and they helped us out. Because of all the delay we got a late start moving. Also, the parking lot had numerous large pot holes and not very well lit when dropping off at night.

Will never use this location again. Price was absolutely ridiculous and I couldn't even leave it in at another uhaul location. Not even a website to look at what was available. All around the worst uhaul experience I've had.

1st trailer was clean but the running lights were not working. So they let me have their other trailer. I am very glad the had the 2nd trailer as I didn't have time to wait for an electrical repair. It was very clean and the running lights worked. The RH tire was badly worn, I had no troubles with it but I am very glad I was using it for very light loads.

It's not so much about this location as is about how I got there. I made a reservation at the location that I wanted to use and then UHaul sent me a rural location way out of the way for me after the reservation was made. Good thing they are not in charge of airline reservations.

Nobody was there. Was charged over $300.00 just to drop the damn thing off. To go from oshkosh to tomah cost me over $600.00. What a frickin joke. Never again!!!

Hwy 21 U-Haul rental is in a class by itself. Been a customer several times and just in awe on how helpful, professional & kind they are. I would definitely recommend them 👍

My sister and I have rented from there 4 other times. None of them have been pleasant experiences. From being rude to dirty inside the location. I had rented this truck several days in advance (which was like 20 steps from my house) UHAUL sent me a text and email stating I had to drive out to Hwy 21 to pick it up. I have to plan ahead due to my work schedule, my son and the other helpers on moving. That cost me a lot more time (2 people) and money (gas for 2 vehicles, plus more per mile) to get it there. Plus I had to find another person to drive me out there to get it. Georgette at Safe Ship was very helpful and explained the last day or two notice on the location change. I went to her location as it was convenient and wanted her to get the business.

Location was closed on Tuesday. So I was billed for,"after hours" drop off. Cleaning charge was justified, since I loaded it in a muddy yard.

Haley went above and beyond she went all the way from Tomah to Madison to get us an Auto Transport plus she helped us load up and get us in the road . Haley customer service was a 10 star I would highly recommend this location .

When somebody buys the truck, why have you? If you go over your miles where you gotta pay the 96 cents that should be all included in the truck renot the mileage.

Before getting into the 1 Star review (would be 0 if that was an option) I need to preface it with this review is solely based on my experience with the Road Side assistance department. The location I picked up at was great. The lady at the front counter was fantastic. Very helpful, professional, and friendly. Cant say anything bad about the in-person customer service at the location I picked up. I wish I could do 2 separate reviews; one for her and the other for the correct department. There is no way I can give a 5 Star review based off my experience with the company as a whole even though the pickup location deserves it. Unfortunately I blew a wheel bearing about 70 miles from returning to the original pickup location. Fortunately I was in a location where it was easy to provide specifics; Mile Marker in viewing distance, Next city was only 2 miles away, and I was between 2 major cities of Wisconsin (one of which was the capital). This information was provided to the agent and repeated multiple times. The agent reached out to a tow company who later called me to recommend I figure out a tow company myself as they were trying to dispatch 300 miles away from where I was located. This person actually referred to them as being "retarded" and told me they repeatedly asked them to dispatch to my location even though they were 300 miles away. I was not too happy to hear this and was shocked a partner of a company would say such things against one another. I attempted to contact the Uhaul agent to clarify my location and try to figure out why they were not looking for a tow company near me, as there are at least 30 within 30 minutes of me. The agent kept blaming it on their system, saying their system could not find my location at some point they mentioned the state of Michigan which I am at least 7 hours away from. The first agent would not connect me to the original that was supposed to be dispatching the tow company. After a lot of back and forth they finally connected me to the original agent. The agent asked for more specifics on the location, unfortunately I dont know how that would be possible. As far as I know there is only 1 Madison WI and I am pretty sure mile markers do not repeat numbers (example: Mile Marker 173 I90). She again kept repeating that it was the systems fault. After much back and forth they were finally able to figure out where I was and dispatch tow truck about 40 minutes away. Total wait time on the side of the interstate in -10F was right at 3 hours. After the pickup they kept calling and text asking me to provide them updates. I eventually told them to stop calling and texting me and to work through the tow company. If they were honest and it is indeed their system, I hope for other customers sake they get it fixed and one suggestion; if you cannot find the capital of a city it may be time to try google maps or the several other options for determining locations and nearby companies. And of course, no credit for the extra gas left in the tank, for my lost time and risk, or for the overall poor experience.

I cannot rate the location because I never saw it. The ubox was brought to me by the packer and he took it to the facility for transport to AZ. Overall, satisfied with the ubox and packers. But I gave it an excellent as it provided the ubox on time.

Pave your parking lot and have a well/ large lit sign. We dropped the truck off at night. The location was not well lit and we went right by it. Gravel parking lot with large puddles. Got our cars and shoes dirty. We had trouble with the link (AGAIN) that wanted to verify our location.

I have had a prior experience with “Haley” at the Hwy 21 Tomah wi location which was not pleasant. So this drop off was fine when we dropped it off but almost an hour later she called saying I smoked in the vehicle WHICH IS UNTRUE BECAUSE I DONT SMOKE CIGARETTES I VAPE! She tried saying “I know for a fact the your spouse does” which he does not-feb 1st 2023 was his last cigarette smoked. She only said she knew he did because of our previous experience with her. She kept saying there was ashes which IS IMPOSSIBLE with vapes. The only thing on the floor mat was sand from her gravel parking lot from me getting in and out. In out area it’s all sand and gravel. She’s rude and always has been. I will never go there again and I WILL spread the word to not do business at that location.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The pick up and drop off were fast and easy. My only complaint is with U-Haul itself as location information on the website is not correct. I was directed to 2 seperate previous U-Haul locations before calling Hwy 21 Rental for directions. The rental location was very apologetic, stating they have attempted to correct this with U-Haul to no avail. The map link on the U-Haul website NEEDS to be corrected. U-Haul is doing this location a huge disservice by not correcting this as soon as possible.

GPS does not bring you to the correct location.

First of all, the address had TWO LOCATIONS ON GPS. Never seen that before in my life. Second, the second location showed it was located in an undeveloped area of the forest where nobody lived, that was actually miles from where it was actually located. The location was COMPLETELY UNKNOWN TO UHAUL EMPLOYEES! You stopped using a location, but the address stayed the same, and Google maps will take you to the old location, and when calling your customer service, they also think that old location was the drop off. I wasted gas, life, and miles on your trash drop off procedure and will never use you're trash service ever again. This drop off was the most backwards, stupid experience I've ever had using any service ever. Renting a Uhaul is an overall terrible experience that I wish on no person. I felt like I was renting a truck from a bunch of crackheads with trust issues. If you are reading this, use a competitor's service, because Uhaul is too far mentally gone for normal people. It took almost 30min to obtain the truck,( sitting in the parking lot going through the procedure just to get the keys for the truck) and took over an hour just to go through dropping the truck off (I sat on the phone for over 30min with customer service to just find the correct location). The stress level of this experience was a 7 out of 10. I Will never go through it again. I'd rather buy a box truck, and go through the hassle of reselling it the next day.

Had a hard time checking out the truck. My phone would not connect with Uhaul.com, at least not right next to the building. I also won't rent a 10-foot truck ever again. I'm 6'1" and there was no way I could drive it safely. The seat was way too close to the dash. The passenger seat wasn't much better. We had to have my wife drive. She's 5'3".

The lady was awesome! She came in early and waited for me..I went to the address on Google maps..it was wrong so I was about 30mins late to pick up..then had an issue with my card..she just laughed right along with me! Very nice lady and very helpful!

6x12 enclosed trailer worked great, except they should have a tounge jack. Hard to lift trailer up onto the ball hitch.
