This response is in no way directed toward the Highway 9 Auto Shop location. My reservation was confirmed at a different location, and when I arrived for pickup, that location was closed. After calling U-Haul customer service, being placed on hold, and then being directed to call another number to speak with someone, I was informed that I was supposed to complete an online check-in—something that was never communicated to me. My pickup time was scheduled for 1:00 PM, and I had movers meeting me at 1:30 PM. When I attempted the online check-in, I received an error stating there was an issue with the equipment and to call customer service again. After being transferred three different times, I was finally told my pickup needed to be moved to the Highway 9 Auto Shop. By the time this was resolved, it was already around 1:30 PM—the same time the movers were arriving. The new location was approximately 24 minutes out of my way (about 12 minutes there and 12 minutes back). While that may not seem significant on its own, it was extremely inconvenient given the delays and the need to communicate changes to the movers. When I arrived at the Highway 9 Auto Shop, the young lady who assisted me was very kind and understanding. However, the overall experience was incredibly frustrating. A confirmed reservation should not result in a customer arriving to find the location closed and then having to navigate multiple customer service transfers just to be redirected to a completely different pickup location. I marked that I would not recommend the location to a friend, but this is solely due to my overall experience with U-Haul. My rating is not a reflection of the Highway 9 Auto Shop or its staff.

SCOTT RWe scheduled online and it was canceled for no reason. So when we went to pick up the truck we had to start the whole process over. We were asked to return the truck to candler , which we did and guess what?! We were charged for the mileage that it took to drive it there!!!!

No call or text stating this information. Go to another U Haul facility on Whitney Rd Spartanburg, SC per the first location that is wheree my reservation was routed. No truck so I was routed to this location in Innan.

TIMOTHY DOnly one (but very nice) person working the convenience store; had to wait and have the transaction interrupted numerous times by customers buying beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets. He finally got the trailer hooked up to my truck and took pictures, etc. But the next day while driving, it came unhooked. Spent an hour in the rain reattaching it (they have no tongue jacks; had to use two bottle jacks), only to find I couldn’t move it w/o disengaging the automatic trailer brakes, a powerful spring-loaded device. Called UHaul who sent a guy and got me back on the road again another hour later. Happily, though, they refunded my cost.

Ronnie POur pickup location in Hendersonville NC completely screwed up our reservation and we couldn't get the truck we reserved. Uhaul was able to find us a truck in SC and did the right thing by discounting thw original price as we had to waste 3 hr and drive to the SC location to pick up the truck. The employees of the SC location were great and made a very difficult situation much better. We appreciated their friendliness and professionalism. The Hendersonville NC location was a disgrace and we can't tell you how frustrated we were with them.

amy pU-Haul corp changed my reservation pickup location from this location to their Spartanburg hub and I didn't notice the text nor the change. The folks at Hwy 9 Auto Stop figured everything out, coordinated the change back to them, made the necessary contract changes, etc. In other words, they made a significant difference in this rental experience. Outstanding!
