The box location image is a bit confusing. It’s on the sign pretty easy but the instructions are so confusing

The app did not include instructions for how to access the lock-box to get the key. It literally advises you to "go inside to the counter" to get the key. But at this location, there is no counter, and no Uhaul people working there. So I called Uhaul, and although everyone I spoke to on the phone was very polite and helpful, they were convinced that there was not a code to unlock the lockbox to get the key. I kept telling them that there had to be a code because the lockbox had a lock with four alpha-characters and that there was literally no Uhaul counter (it was just a parking lot). FINALLY after about 20 minutes on the phone in 33 degree temperatures, they found that there was indeed a code, and they gave it to me. BTW, they even tried to call the owner of the truck, but he was unreachable. Also, when dropping off the truck, the app told me to scan the barcode at the lockbox to continue the check-in process. But when I did, it just sent me back to the "scan the barcode" part of the app. There was no way out of that recursive loop. So I hit, "I'm having trouble scanning the barcode" and it takes you to what appears to be an advisory screen telling you to make sure you note the fuel level and don't forget any belongings, but there was no way to close out the rental. All in all, the app was a huge disappointment. I would say it's not that it's difficult to use...under it's current configuration, the app is broken (impossible to use).

There were no dollys in the back of the U-Haul like we had ordered. Also upon returning the U-Haul the app crashed while we were taking pictures. When we reopened the app it said there were no current reservations or past reservations so I was unsure if the return of the U-Haul was processed correctly and we had to call the help line to verify.

There was no one working there so the truck wasn’t properly returned by the customer before us so we weren’t able to access our van until 40 minutes after our pickup time.

Mobile pickup was extremely difficult. The app sent me an error message when I tried to check in- it said a van wasn’t available and I needed to call customer service.after being on hold for 30 minutes trying to pick up the van on moving day, I found out that the error message was wrong and was only appearing because my location services were off. Please provide accurate error messages so people don’t have to waste their time or your customer service’s time.

The van was not swept out at pick up and had 1/4 tank gas. There were also two dollys in the truck (we did not request any) and this took up truck space that we needed. It’s a small van, I really didn’t need to be figuring out where to put two dolly’s. Pick up was a total mess. It took an hour to get into the lock box because the app told us to go into the store to get the keys but this van was in a parking lot without a store. We couldn’t get through on the customer service line and the chat was sooooo close and unhelpful so we feel fortunate the local number answered and helped get us in touch with his supervisor to get us the lock box code. Overall, terrible experience. Would be one star other than the fact that we were able to use the truck to deliver what we needed after serious frustration. Do better U-Haul!

The vehicle was too dirty for me to take an extended trip in it but it’s LOCAL and easy to access. Since there’s no office I understand there’s a trade off. Had I just needed it for an hour it would have been fine. 5+ hours in it no way. Please refund. :)

I was not aware there would be a process to be completed before taking charge of the vehicle. If some of the process can be completed beforehand, like uploading selfie, drivers license pictures etc it will make it easier and less complicated. Also the lock on the lockbox is not of good quality and was jammed. It took me sometime to pry it open after entering the code. Maybe a different kind of lock or system would help make it an easy process.

Such a weird experience. It said I rented it on the app then it wasn’t rented. Talked to multiple people not on the same page. Vans moving supplies were just laying in there.

I didn't receive the code to get into the lockbox with the keys. i also specifically request a furniture dolly, but received an appliance dolly instead. Overall the rest of it was your typical uhaul experience.
