I had a reservation for a 10-10 truck and then I got moved to a different location and not the same truck

BRUCE OI reserved a 15-ft truck and ended up having to get a 20-ft truck because there was a mistake in the reservation Don't know what happened it cost me $10 more than I thought

Tracey MThe truck had a shaking front end as we left the pick up location. We called the location but could not get an answer. Called U - haul and was told the truck shakes when empty and will be ok once loaded. We loaded the truck and headed to our destination approximately 1900 miles. Within a few hours the anti lock brake light illuminated, then the traction control light came on. All the while the front end was still shaking. On the 3rd day of driving the check engine light came on steady and remained on until we reached our destination. The next day the check engine light went off but the other 2 lights remained on. When I contacted uhaul about the condition of the truck and wanted to file a complaint i was told I would have to wait until the truck was returned and checked in. We have rented uhaul trucks and trailers in the past with no issues but this time was a bad experience.
DONALD TSo friendly and helpful - I showed pictures of what needed to be moved and he helped me pick out the size truck I would need, showed me how to work everything and was so polite. Would absolutely go back!

TOO BAD MY TRUCK WAS REPO...THE GUY LOADED IT UP WITHOUT A WORD AFTER I WAIT FOR "ROADSIDE BATTERY JUMP IN LOW TEMP, FOR 3 HOURS, NO TEXT, NO INTRODUCTION FROM TOW DRIVER ANNNNND HE TOLD A MAN IVE NEVER MET WHERE TO FIND IT. THEN BECAUSE TYLER IS RUDE AND CONDESCENDING AND LIES I WAS TOLD IT WAS GOING IN THE TRASH DESPITE MY CONTRACT EXTENSION... fOR AN EMPTY TRUCK .02 MILES.AWAY.... THAT WAS A CRIME SCENE. Y'ALL BETTER FIRE THAT MAN. NOW IM OUT NEARLY $1000 AND HAVE TO RENT A HOME DEPOT OE.PENSKE TO MOVE STUFF I NEVER SHOULD HAVE LOST. NEVER.SHOULD HAVE LET ANYONE SEE. HOW.AM I RESPONSIBLE FINACIALLY FOR YOUR IDIORLT ROADSIDE... DUMB AREA MANAGER... AND INVASION OF MY PRIVACY. PTSD AND TRAUMA FROM.SCARY RUDE TOW WITH NO?L IDENTIFICATION- AN E.R. VISIT AND 3.PANIC ATTACKS . AND LOSS OF MOVING CREW I HAD TONPAY ANYWAY BECAUSE THEY WERE GOING TO OFFLOAD IT. You owe me $70.10 IN GAS. I HAVE MYELF ON VIDEO DRIVING TO GAS STATION. I STARTED WITH HALF TANK . I PUMPED FULL TANK . TOLD IT WAS A DEAD BATTERY. AND AT MIDNIGHT WAS THREATENED OR EXTORTES TO.GET TRUCK AFTEE MOVING GUY LEFT AND I WAS UBER/LYFT BACK TO IN AND OUT CELL WHERE MY CAR WAS. WOW. NOW I HAVE A $35 OVERDRAFT. SOMEONE TOUCHED ALL MY BELONGINGS

joseph mThe overall experience was terrible. We were told that if we returned the truck sooner, we would get a refund and we did. However, we were emailed later that this was a package deal. We were told wrong by U-Haul on the phone and at the Bloomington location. So the rental was $200 more than we were told. It will be a while before I ever rent a U-Haul vehicle or recommend U-Haul to anyone.

Linda HPicked truck up before the location was open. Went to the key box, but no key. Waited almost an hour before someone showed up. No equipment such as blankets, Dollie’s etc. were available.
BILL DScammed us and charged a $25 cleaning fee as well. We 100% made sure that our uhaul was clean both inside the cab and cargo area. Then the next day the charge appeared.
shawn gI made a 10 am reservation but the independent uhaul dealer decides he does not want to open his doors until noon. No calls in advance. They just let me wait 2 hours without any notice of the time change which made made late for an appointment I had later that day.
Shelley MClosed early and didn’t inform customer of that when spoke on the phone. Had to call a different store to get a note place that I turned it because they were closed next day and tried to charge me more than what I lady paid.

Joseph LI almost rented a truck that would have ended up being too small. If you had a service or an app that would help your customers accurately estimate their needs it might save someone a potential hassle. My move was odd because I had a small trailer and two kayaks to load IN the truck. It all worked out, but some stuff shifted in transit and got messed up a bit.

Mark HQuality of customer service was great. Quality of the truck wasn't. Disappointed in the maintenance of the truck. 8 hour trip and in 2nd hour the A/C went out and it was 102°. Driving down the road. Made the trip horrible and unbearable!
BRIAN MWhen I dropped off the truck the representative did not even come out to check the dolly , blankets or fuel level and checked the truck in in 6/25 when I had actually dropped it off on 6/19 a day early. Now I am fighting the charges for an extra four days of rental.

Charles WThe truck was OK. the furniture cart and furniture pads ordered were not there. This location doesn't open until 10, its a satellite pick up location so they wouldn't have had the equipment either. The 24/7 pick up process is ridiculous. It literally took an hour on the phone with U-haul before I could unlock the key box to get the truck. Absolute WORST moving experience.

SEAN MFirst of all! The people at the location are the only reason I’m not leaving one star on every single column! Two different locations without the right equipment as booked The New Smyrna store I started with only booked me for 24 hours when I was needing it for a 48 hour rental. Then when they told me the truck had to be back early from my first arrangement booked, I told them that would not work with my timeframe. So I called u-haul directly & they sent me to another location. (sounded more like a sales person, then customer service) when I got to this location they informed me that they didn’t even have the equipment that the representative booked, sending me to another city. I was physically panicking ,and the people at the location we’re awesome! Very helpful and assisted me with a different size truck that they did have available. However U-Haul did not keep their promise as they said in the “recorded call”….. I ordered a 26 foot truck so that I could move everything at one time. I was stuck with a 17 foot truck having to take multiple trips and have it an extra 12 hours, that i’m sure they will be charging ME for. Not really sure if I will be using or referring U-Haul in the future.

JAMES MTruck was not full of gas when picked up. The box on box truck was dirty, unswept. Got charged for 3 gallons of gas after return, even though I only went 12 miles & I put 3 gallons in right before I returned it. It was refunded by U-Haul after online chat, but it took valuable time out of my day.
STEVEN GWhen I dropped the vehicle off the dealer was a little irritated and said he didn’t have room for any more trailers , but said just leave it where I backed in but offered no help.

JAMES RThere was a pricing discrepancy and it seems like insurance was added to the contract and I had to request it be taken off. I rejected the insurance on line which led me to believe the local person added it in without my authorization.
WILLIAM SMust inspect truck before giving it to a customer!!! Not only did the truck shut down on me before I loaded it!! But it also had the check engine light on the way to my destination!! The truck was NOT safe, kept on making a noise that sounded like there was something wrong with the belt. If you have a contract with uhaul make it a point to inspect every vehicle big safety concern. Worse uhaul experience I have ever had!!
