The van was new and clean, but the brake light and other indicator lights were on while driving. I opted for in-person check-in, not mobile, but the location was closed even though they were supposed to be open at 9am, our reservation was for 9:30, and we got there about 9:45. It took about 30 minutes to download the app and connect with a rep via text to get the key to the van, which already had a parking ticket on it. When we returned the van, we parked in the closest legal parking spot we could find, a 4 min walk from the location, as we didn’t want them to incur another parking ticket. I told the owner of the establishment where the van was parked when I returned the key. 20 minutes later, when I was already back at my apt, he called and demanded I come back and move the van closer to his establishment, even though it was just down the block from him and I’d already told him where I parked when I returned the key. He said the van was not considered checked in and I had to call u-haul to resolve the situation. I wanted to give this location a try despite the poor reviews since it is the closest to me, but the owner has very poor customer service. Just know what you’re signing up for. If you get the mobile pick up and return the vehicle to in front of his store you’re probably fine, but none of that was explained or expected and it cost me time and aggravation.
