It was a little scary driving on the snowy roads. I think the truck may have had summer tires. I know in Quebec tires only need to be winter as of 1st December but it would be safer to switch them to winter end of October I think.
Lori AOur trailer used a 'manual' twist knob hitch type that the UHaul staff member thought they had attached and checked correctly, but it turned out not to be the case. Fortunately they had done an excellent job with the crossed safety chains, as within 5 km of leaving the lot, a bump in the road caused the trailer hitch to detach and fall onto the chain. Fortunately, we had reviewed the UHAUL safety material on trailer sway and other emergencies so were able to gently slow and pull over without incident or damage of any kind. We soon found the trouble - the locking tab on the knob gave a false impression that the knob was fully tightened, when in fact, lifting the knob allowed it to be turned another 10 rotations. We carried on with our day and returned the trailer as planned, unharmed. The staff person was wonderful, acknowledged that they hadn't been familiarized with this 'gotcha', but then practiced the hitch and unhitch with us so she would never have this problem again. Stuff happens. I really appreciate it when someone just owns it and then we can work together. I will happily rent from this location again.
John HLa seule raison pour le "no" pour le personnel est parce que j'ai fait un drop off autonome après les heures d'ouverture. La charge pour le gaz est mentionné pour Gatineau mais j'aurais dû régler tout ça avant de partir avec le uhaul.

This direct experience with Kazadecor was awesome and soooo much appreciated. My experience with the mobile check in as less pleasant. Several steps, the app did not always cooperate. And you should absolutely warn people that ID verification will be required. I could have been in trouble if my buddy had not come along in the car to get the van.
