-When we set up the trailer unfortunately we forgot to tighten the coupler. I found out when losing the vehicle and was able to figure out how to tighten it. -Although the daily flat rate was initially offered with a 10% discount, unfortunately we needed to get the vehicle moved the same day and the truck and trailer were in use the following day. I think it would have been fair to offer the daily rate but inform me they needed returned that evening which I already planned to do. We paid significantly more for a daily rental using the equipment for less time. It would've been helpful to have the reservation agent bring this up as we are on a limited budget. We also could have picked up from another location which had the truck and trailer available for the next day. Although the truck and trailer met our needs, I am leery of using this again because of the extra cost and how much extra it was for the same rental as the daily rate.MICHAEL A.
Have staff go over exterior of vehicle with customer to confirm any damage. Show customer where gas door release is. I believe I put more gas into the vehicle than I needed to on return. Person who checked me in said to return it at 'same level at which I received it' and it appeared to be full. When I filled up it on return noted the gauge was over the F. The MPG was only 10 miles based on the gas I replaced.MARY S.

Noticed some rat poop in the garage when hauling out our stuff and had to use old clothe to brush it off! Needs mouse traps in the back corners of the storage!JEFFREY B.
The truck was not well maintained nor had a thorough maintenance inspection between renters. I made it less than 10 minutes from home before having to pull over with a blown out tire. I then had to wait an hour to have the tire changed. When the guy changed the tire he said â€œthis has been like this for a long time, there's even a birds nest down hereâ€. The tire had dry rot which doesn't happen overnight. This could have definitely put myself at great harm. There should be a better inspection done by workers before giving someone a box truck to drive around.Kylie H.

It is very hard to locate. It is not behind Acme as we were told by the Akron office. It is located behind with one little sign at a storage unit. it only had two trucks sitting there and the one we took was filthy inside and out. It reeked of smoke. The employee was excellent and helpful. He made it a good experience.Jeff F.

I had a great experience storing items here for 8 months, in a 5’ x 10’ non-temperature controlled unit. When moving out, in October, there were stink bugs living in my non-sealed containers. Nothing was damaged- and the price was great.Clover Q. | Overall Experience

Better directions on where you facility is actually located. Fix your website in order to accurately locate for mobile check in. Make it a faster process to get your truck and go. I waited 30 minutes just to be helped.JENNIFER M.

This associate was amazing however our overall experience was dismal. We searched for a location for a truck and found one in central Akron. We drove Kent to Akron only to find out they had changed our reservation to Kent. The Akron employee was extremely unhelpful and somewhat rude. We then had to drive to our original starting point. Waited in line with another employee who said they had more reservations than vehicles, only to find out our reservation was at a different location un the city. We had no idea it even existed. Our truck was the only vehicle there. How does a company take reservations for more vehicles than they have and change locations? I know of no restaurants that book more tables than they have then tell the customers that they have a table at another restaurant across town. This was ridiculous and put us way behind schedule.ANDREW S.

Actually I was disappointed that I could not rent from Streetsboro, OH. Consideration of the renters location would be advantageous. Certainly the company could have trucks in needed locations when they are reserved several weeks ahead.james H.

The lock on my key box was stuck and I was told by the customer care agent to drive to another location that was approx 7 miles away. She also said that I will have to pay for the extra mileage when the inconvenience was caused on U-haul's part! This was a ridiculous solution provided along with a very rude tone.Aishwarya P.

The rental truck that I was given was clean but was in need of mechanical attention to the steering components as there was a delay in the response of the steering . The steering wheel was greatly off center also which did not make for a pleasant driving experience.EDWARD K.

I had significant difficulty with the online truck return process. I followed the directions for turning on location services with my phone and it still would not work. I had to use my mom's phone. Location services did work but the process restarted several times. This caused significant frustration after a very long and exhausting day. Additionally, I was to drop the truck in Twinsburg which was on my way home, but was rerouted to Kent which added to my drive time to get back home.KEARA B.
We were scheduled to drop the unit off on Monday and did so on Sunday. When I went into the office and dropped off the keys and paperwork, I was told thanks and we left. I got a call on Monday asking where the unit was. Apparently, we were new to the area and saw the sign not far from my daughter's new apartment, we dropped it off at the wrong place. Had he checked it in we would have corrected the problem on the spot and the huffy tone phone call could have been avoided.Mary J.

I thought when I reserved a storage unit on line, I was renting a storage unit at the same place as I was renting the truck. The storage unit was 10 miles away so I chose another option. The ONLY thing they was a bit confusing was when we dropped off the truck after hours abd the receipt holder paper said we had to go into "My dashboard" and hit "Return my truck." Maybe because we were checked in by a person we didn't have that option and spent more time than we needed to returning it. (Not sure if us just putting the keys in the box was ok). In the end we did/called the next day to make sure we did right and everything worked out. Jackson at that location was AWESOME! Very professional and knowledgeable and helped us tremendously! I would have liked to have seen the vehicle cleared of snow and had a better sense of its preventive maintenance checks given that they knew I was taking the vehicle on a 300-400 mile journey. I view this as similar to a rental car agency where they show that to you prior to departure to give you a sense of safety and security. Recommend U-Haul do the same.MARKJ M.
