When you get there, there is a tiny written sign on where to call. The owner is hard to understand and does not give great instructions. His instructions for return did not include the return on the website instructions. Next move in 2 months will be from another location. Nobody there, everything is done over the phone. You are asked to pay for everything upfront and also needed to put an extra $100.00 as deposit, told that difference would be refunded. Receive a revised invoice after returning van asking for more money instead or receiving refund for difference of invoice total minus deposit. Still waiting for refund.Edward K.
Furious over the return process. At time of pickup the agent informed me only to drop the keys in the red box when I returned the box can and trailer. Yet when I checked my emails last night I see an email from UHaul telling me that I n the fed to complete an online return including taking pictures or I would be charged an additional $20 fee. I was NEVER told this by the uhaul rep on sight. He told me that I only needed to return the vehicle and trailer clean and place the key in the red box which I did. When we went to pick the 15 foot truck, they did not have one available.We had to take 10 feet.Why confirm a reservation if it is not followed through? Really enjoyed my Uhaul experience overall. Loved the online check-in and check-out. But, would not recommend this location. Difficult to reach some at the contact number, confusing when I reached someone (because they answered as L&S Foods), dismissive of my questions - when I was able to reach someone to confirm details, was told "yeah, its whatever the email tells you". Left me nervous/not confident I had booked and that vehicle would be ready for me as person seemed unable to verify what I'd done online. Truck was clean enough but not great, had odour. Overall, as I said, Uhaul was great, loved check-in/out, would not use this location again.Abi S.
Honour the pick up location when we have booked well in advance. Send an email confirming location just before pick up day ( I never received one). I did not receive the $50 rebate that was promised to me because I had to pick up my uhaul van at a different and much further away location costing me a much higher mileage charge. The location at LS Foods was wonderful, however, the way the uhaul company operates and it's disorganization I will not use form rental needs in the future, nor will I recommend uhaul.Bruce W.

I had to set up the trailer by myself with no help from the staff. I am 65 years old with a broken back from a motorcycle crash 10 years ago. The 9' trailer was almost to heavy to lift. Where do I start? From the fact that the app never and I mean never works. I rent from Uhaul a couple of times a year and have never successfully been able to pick up a vehicle without the person at the desk getting involved. But Uhaul doesn't seem to care because it has been like this for a couple of years. On to the manual pickup of the vehicle. Several people lined up waiting outside because none could successfully use the app to pick up their vehicle. Arrived at 9:15 to pickup my vehicle, finally got it at 9:55. They send you pics to show you the mileage and that the gas tank is full. It wasn't. We drove a total of 15.6km, this includes to and from the location, and had to put $18.60 of gas in the vehicle.... how could this be. This location always has unorganized service, the dealer seems more concerned with being humorous than being organized. Would not recommend this location, ever.Howard W.

I had problems with the website for the pickup and the owner if the location was present but refused to help and obligated me to call a 1-800 number and in the end he had the key and not i. The automated box after all. This wasted 30 minutes of my 3 hour rental. The truck wasn't all clean. The website should allow us to upload photos all ready taken to do the return. I had taken all the necessary photos, put the key in the drop off box, but then realized that I needed to take the photos with the website open! A horrible experienceMICHAEL P.

I rent UHaul equipment frequently, usually from Gallagher's in Kanata N and less frequently from UHual dealers from all over south western and eastern Ontario. I measure every dealer by Gallagher's standard of excellence; they are my go to UHaul dealer and gold standard for UHaul customer excellence. So let me be very clear; I will NEVER EVER rent anything ever from Len's UHaul ever again. By far my worst UHaul experience ever! As per my usual; I booked a UHaul rental on line with set a confirmed date and time. Sadly Gallagher's was closed for my pick up date. Len's is a 10 minute drive from my home; approx 20 minutes prior to pick up I received a phone call from an unknown number and caller who didn't identify themselves but instead immediately asked â€œwhere are youâ€; â€œat home & who is thisâ€ was my surprised response. â€œYou rented a trailer todayâ€, he asked, â€œyesâ€. â€œWhen you picking up?â€ he asked., â€œat 1pmâ€ I said. â€œWell hurry up, we are patiently waitingâ€, â€œI'm booked for 1pmâ€. â€œI'm booked for 1pm I respondedâ€, â€œhurry up we are patiently waitingâ€, he said; â€œwhen you come you pick your trailer and text meâ€. When my wife and I arrived we found two sad looking UHaul trailers, I had rented a 4x8 so we backed up to it and texted as we'd been told. A few minutes later a man walked up and directed me to attach the light plug to my car. After doing as directed he then told me to turn on my lights, then directionals, brake and stop lights. After everything was good he then directed me to lift the trailer (I'm a senior) couple the hitch, screw down the ball coupler and attach the safety chains. Fortunately I'd watched EVERY OTHER UHaul dealer do this and knew how to do it but this was the first time I have ever been directed, with the UHaul guy watching, to connect and secure my own rental. Making matters worse, the trailer and the larger one beside it had been backed into a bit of an icy snow bank. As soon as I picked up the tongue the trailer lurched ahead, ramming the coupler into my car. Even worse; after I'd managed, without any assistance to push my rental a few inches up an incline, hook it up and secure it, this UHaul dealer apparently decided that this was the exact moment for him to lift the tongue of the other trailer, parked a foot or two away from the right side of my car and when he lifted the tongue out of the muck (as I did with my rental) the larger trailer also lurched ahead. In doing so this other trailer came within inches of gouging the right side of our Lincoln MKX!! What an idiot!! To make matters worse, I advised him that if he would leave the larger trailer as it was and give me a few moments I would move our SUV out of the way. â€œNOâ€ was his directive. â€œStay where you areâ€. So we had to watch and grimace as he insisted on again lifting the tongue of this other trailer so that he could place a stand under the trailer tongue. In the end, our SUV escaped damage, he then directed me to go turn around in the yard and park beside his office door. After I'd done this he came out of his office, looked at the hitch and again directed me to wait; he went back into his office and returned with something in his hand, which he insisted that I'd take from his hand. Instead I asked what they were and he told me they were rubber strips used to lock the safety chain to the hitch on our SUV. He directed me to take them and install them on the safety chains. I told him that I had no idea how to put them on. He directed me walk around the trailer to the passenger side through the mud (which I did) and watch. He then installed the rubber strip on the driver's side safety chain then handed me the second strip to install on the passenger side. There are three holes of differing sizes on this strip; he directed me as to which holes go where. At no other time did this UHaul dealer check the tightness or security of my forced hook up of the UHaul trailer to my SUV. If all this isn't enough to convince you to never go to Len's then let me leave you with this parting thought. When you return the trailer, you are required to place the trailer tongue on a stand. Now I know why the last renter of that larger runaway trailer which nearly gouged out the side of my SUV. I must confess that like that other renter, I didn't place my returned trailer on the stand either. I figured they were just as pee'd off and annoyed as I was with this tsunami of negative customer experience as I was; instead I left my rental as I found it, in the muck.BLAKE F.

Worst rental experience, i chose counter pick up but door was closed and the man working there saw me through the window and bother to open the door or window. there wasnt any instructions at all. after 15 minutes of confusion i did online pick up and then he called me to over ride my rental, he ignored my $50 discount which i want back, he was silly and joked all the time on the phone, wasn't professional at all, he was rude, in simple english he was an asshole. The phone app is unusable. I had to have the owner of the centre override my reservation in order for me to complete my rental. Spent 30 minutes figuring this out. No fun in -20C weather. For occasional users, having the default transmission setting as â€œtowâ€ is simply wasteful on gas. I traveled less than 50k and had to spend $35 to refill. I only noticed an ill placed label at the end of my rental. Any company serious about reducing their greenhouse gas emissions would convert their fleet to non-tow as default and add a question about towing during the booking process.Eric S.
More signage is needed or an email prior to explaining the process upon arrival to the customer. As a business owner myself I think companies should always viewing their process in the customers eyes. I arrived and searched the whole building to try and find a door to finally have someone knock hard on a window to direct me to "call only" to pickup the truck. I had to wait in my car while they went over everything I had already filled out prior. I would have arrived way earlier had I known there would be another verification process. The truck was extremely hard to back up and they stuck it beside two vehicles with another one behind me. All in all I was late to my destination and wished there was more communication how your process worked. You can't expect every customer to show up and know what to do. The individual that assisted me with getting set up with the rental was fantastic but even with his assistant it took far too long to get on the road not to his fault but to the U-haul share 24/7 system (fine tuning is very important for for me to recommend future rentals to other) this was a tryal for our future rentals as we rent frequently.Rene P.

The entire interaction upon return was handled by text message. There was a bit of miscommunication. Sending text message photos of the interior of the truck AFTER having left the truck behind was a pain in the butt. I signed up for in person pick up and sat in the parking lot for 50 minutes in the cold calling the 1 800 number since the gentlemen there was not helping me. He then told me to call the 613 number, which was his number. Even more ridiculous. The parking lot was not ploughed. Considering we have had very little precipitation this year, this isn't acceptable. The fact that I had hired movers through UHaul, who were waiting for me added to the frustration. UHaul should not have given the option of in person pickup if it isn't available. They should also give people the heads up that it takes 50 minutes to pickup your vehicle. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend UHaul. I would however recommend the movers that I hired through UHaul, â€œNeil Stanleyâ€. They were excellent.Karen B.

The location was fine, but the online check in process was a pain. Location service didn't work, I guess it is a bit "out of the way" and the scanning of the bar code at the location didn't seem to work. I choose this location because it was open, just in case there were problems, but it wasn't really open. There was a guy there shoveling snow, but his response was to call the 1800 number. He was of no help. The person we spoke with on the phone was great, but I'd suggest you don't offer online pick up if you can't work out the bugs/annoyances that have been widely reported online. It took over an hour to get our U-Haul for they only have one person working at this location. The U-Haul we then received was very dirty.. food on the seat, the box of the U-Haul had a lot of dirt in it as well and it definitely had not been sanitized since the worker got the keys straight out of the dropbox to give them to me. Very unimpressed especially with it not being sanitized and the possibility of Covid exposure. The location to pickup my truck also changed an hour before my pick-up time. Luckily, we at least had a good experience with U-Haul customer service!christine S.
No one answered the door of the shop when we arrived to pick up the trailer. On advice of grandson who was with me, we just took the trailer from the lot as he has done before at UHaul. Unfortunately he based his experience on renting a van and not a trailer. Apparently, the same rules do no apply. Who knew? Next day while on the road I got a call from UHaul who accused me of stealing the trailer. Wow. This rental experience was a quite a mess.
