Very disappointing.... - Took a very long time to obtain and release the vehicle - Distance was overcharged and over recorded relative to what was used - Fuel charge was applied when it should not have been - Attendant was not readily upon checkout time and vehicle pull up and pull out was expected of customer, along with pictures taken by customer to have to facilitate check in and check out; poor customer service - Vouchers that were brought forward were not utilized and it was put on the customer to figure out how to apply them - Sharp piece of broken wood in the truck was present upon taking the vehicle Very poor experience overall and would not go back to this location again.

Michael STom was fantastic, very funny and personable! I am always surprised by the cost when I rent a truck - I believe Uhaul would get more business if rental/mileage rates were lowered.
ROBIN HMy experience with the 24/7 online customer service was beyond terrible. It took talking to 4 different service rep for 2 plus hours before finding a resolution to my account setup and rental application.

JOHN CYour new snap in trailer hitch is the worst thing ever. The amount of sloppy play in them is going to put you out of business. You need to go back to the twist o es thatt you can tighten to the ball

Moe DOwner automatically added insurance to my trailer rental. Did not ask if I wanted it(which I did not). Strikes me as a money grab.

CRAIG CSuper Tom always provides excellent service (were repeat customers). Uhaul must provide more cargo trailers to service Ottawa West. Last year, we booked 6 wks in advance and had to scramble last minute to Innes road location. It was a nightmare.

DANIEL CI paid for gas before returning the truck, but I still got charged for fuel in the end. I do not think I have ever had this issue since I strated using Uhaul over 15 years ago. Very frustrating.
ALFI TWent to u-haul on Conventry Ave in Ottawa with my Reservation. My 6x12 trailer was not there? Had to drive 45 minutes to Westbrook Rd. for a smaller trailer. This smaller trailer was not big enough for my needs! Not happy with Service at Conventry location for my Reservation from 1 month ago! Wasted my gas, my time and trailer was too small. Not happy with the original location customer service!
HERBERT CMy reservation was moved last minute to the other side of town despite having booked the trailer 4months in advance at the location closest to me. It was very inconvenient having to go so far to pick up the trailer.

STEPHEN BThe estimate configured by the UHaul representative was for a mileage use of 100 miles with a total quote of $221.42. I was assured that this is only an estimate and that when I drop off the vehicle, I will only be charged for the actual mileage used. Well, upon dropping off the vehicle, I used a total of 45 miles. Total bill came to $122.40. I was assured that it is the $122.40 that I will be charged as that was the actual usage and not the $221.42 amount as that was the estimate prior to renting the vehicle. I asked to ensure this was the case and I was rest assured it was. Looking at my credit card statement now, UHaul has charged me for the $221.42. This is not acceptable.

DOUGLAS WI found pickup to be somewhat cumbersome through the app but it was my first time. Drop off is easy through the app.
ALBERT DAs a note, the truck was on empty when I picked it up. If this is policy, it would have been nice to know so I could have planned on filling out up before leaving. Also, the windshield wipers were essentially useless and there was no windshield wiper fluid. Having a vehicle that was gassed up, ready to go and safe to drive in winter conditions would have been appreciated.

DAVID JTom, the owner of the location where I have rented trucks from several years, is great. He is honest, pleasant, helpful, accommodating and super professional. He has a great fleet of all sizes trucks to serve his clients. U-Haul trucks in general are no Cadillac's, my driver's door could hardly close and the tires were unevenly inflated but I knew for certain that my reservation was assured with Tom. Some other locations I had dealt with in the past made promises but had no trucks when came time to pick it up. NEVER WITH TOM. His word is as gold, he has total integrity and he never failed to have what I ask for and for as many days I needed the truck for. I would not risk going elsewhere anymore.

RAMASHAN MThere was no issue at all at the final location for pick up, and the guy there was very helpful. However everything else about the experience was frustrating and stressful. I was given so much incorrect information about where I had to reserve (on-line versus on the phone) then had my pick up location changed multiple times, the date/time changed and the size of the truck changed. No one, who called me from U--haul to repeatedly tell me they couldn't get me the truck/location I chose on-line, seemed at all concerned that this was a major inconvenience for me, expressed little to no support/empathy and were quite frankly either disinterested in helping or down right rude. When I got a call at 9:30am Saturday morning telling me I only had until 10:30am to pick up the truck - when I was originally told I could pick it up Sunday morning - the woman who called was blunt & unwilling to be the tiniest bit flexible. (And this was not the first location I had chosen but one that Uhaul switched me to because Kemptville no longer had a 10ft truck). I was more than an hour away from the location and there was no way I was going to get there for 10:30. I told her my daughter could probably get there just a bit after 10:30 but she was unwilling to wait. I understand people have schedules etc, however I was not the one asking to change the pickup time and I hadn't asked for that location. So my order was sent back "up to head office" and I was told someone would call me and find me a new location. I was then told I couldn't have a 10ft truck, unless I wanted to go a lot further to pick it up. The very last woman who called me was pleasant and seemed to actually care. In the end I had to go with a 15 ft truck but at least we could pick it up Sunday morning as requested. The truck did not have a dolley in it, which when I booked on-line (way back at the beginning) they said would be included. Sunday evening we had a family emergency (we were moving my elderly mother into a care home) and I was no longer able to take the truck to Peterborough so I called Uhaul to tell them I would return the truck to the location where we picked it up. You were already charging me an added fee for the drop off in Peterborough and then I was told there would be a penalty for returning the truck to Kanata!! How does that make sense? And you got a truck back with an almost full tank of gas because I filled it expecting to drive to Peterborough - that was penalty enough for me and a win for you. I asked for an emailed copy of the final bill and to this day have only received the invoice for the $255 paid the morning the truck was picked up. No final bill with mileage costs, extra fees etc. I have used Uhaul several times in the past years and have always had an ok experience. This experience has really soured me on your company and I will look elsewhere next time I need a truck.

TRACY DI was first provided a trailer where the brake lights don’t work. Please check your equipment before giving to customers. The process to rent took extremely long even though I provided the info online, everything had to be manually Re-entered.
VISVA SI was not given the $50 credit for the head office cancelling my reservation with this location last week Saturday, November 30, 2024 which caused me to rebook my reservation for December 6, 2024, a day that was very cold with less help from friends who were not available that day. My cancellation that day was for a reservation with the Innes Road location that I did not make. Also I was charged coverage I did not ask for, nor was told about, until when I saw it in my final bill. I declined it during my on-line check in on my November 30, 2024 reservation. The location should remove the $16.00 coverage charge in my final bill. Thanks. Nash.
