Rented a vehicle from U-Haul, and the experience was awful. The employee was rude, unhelpful, and dismissive of my concerns. Poor communication, delays, and unclear return instructions made it even worse. Would not recommend!

Hello, I used your service yesterday. When I returned the car, I was charged for 14 liters of fuel instead of just 1 liter that was missing, plus an additional $30. There are issues with the overall calculations. The car was given to me an hour later than my reservation time, but as a customer, I didn’t make it a problem. If I didn’t complain about the delay, there was no need to dispute 1 liter of fuel. Attention to such small details is important for customer satisfaction.

Wrong rate given. Instead of $19.95, charged $109.95 plus $20.00 after hour service for dropping keys in dropbox (not told of this ahead of time).

The owner always wanted to charge money in either way by character for over time or by adding cleaning fee. I had been to their location to do the formalities but he denied too. What a waste I would not recommend

My overall experience was not great. I had booked a 15ft truck with a one way drop off for an 8:00 am pick up. It was going to be picked up a location close to our house and dropped off close to move location. The day before the schedule picked up, my reservation had been changed by U-Haul to a return trip on a 10ft truck at a pick up location much further location and a 10:00 am pick up. I called U-Haul to get it switched back to the originally booked 15ft truck as my move required a 15ft truck. I also tried to get the original booked 8:00 am pick up and the one way drop off. The switch from a one way to a return trip added 2 hours to my already long day. I was very disappointed and the changed pick up location added another 40 minutes to my move. When I phoned to try and get the truck switched back to a 15ft, with a one way drop off with the originally scheduled 8:00 am pick up, there were no reasonable options for a 1 way that would not of taken less time that just accepting the return trip. They could not get me anything close to what I originally booked and reserved. The women who was helping me in the phone was very nice and but could not ultimately get me anything better but was at least able to secure me on another 15ft truck that I had originally reserved. She said she was going to discount the mileage to .61 cents rather than 1.01 but my final bill was at 1.01. Overall the booking process was incredibly disappointing. While the tuck met my needs, I don’t think I would use U-Haul in the future. I would prefer book with a provider which does not change the pick up location, the size of truck, the drop off location and the pick up time at the last minute causing a lot of last minute changes to our planned move. Be very aware when booking with U-Haul as a reservation is not a reservation. You can expect changes to where you originally booked, when you scheduled a pick up, where you will be able to drop off and your truck size. This will cause you time, money from the additional mileage, fuel, and aggravation from having a booking change the day before your schedule pick up. Use another provider if you have the option.
