Store hours were not as posted. Used the app to checkout the vehicle, but it didn’t provide a lockbox code and said to go inside to see an agent. They were closed and not open per posted hours. Instead, I had to call U-Haul and wait to be assisted and then given a code to get key out of lockbox. Upon doing so, the truck barely started as it had a weak battery. Thinking it would charge for the 30 min I had it running, it barely started again for the next leg of my move. Borrowed a jump box for the last leg to get it back to origin. Indian note on checkin using the app that it has a weak battery. While the rental did work out in the end, was disappointed in the time it took to deal with online checkout and lack of provided code for lockbox. Had to waste 30 min dealing with this when I had people waiting (on the clock mind you) at my expense and cost me an additional $50 when I could have been there sooner had all of this gone more smoothly.

This morning we started having plumbing issue so I I made my reservation in a rush since I had to clear out the living rim because of the plumbing emergency. I made my reservation with a CSR FROM U-HAUL and went to pick up the U-Haul van from risdons in Carpinteria. I waited nearly an hour just to pick up my reserved rental. I tried to pay for the rental there @ risdons and was told he couldn’t rent to me because I owed U-Haul money. I had a very unpleasant in counter with someone who rents U-Haul for U-Haul from her store and she lied and said I owe her mknry. I have my email that says my last rental was closed and I was fine. Now this. Horrible horrible experience. With them.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, but vehicle was filthy inside and out. The facility has no ability to clean or do general maintenance. Also, this truck had no back-up camera, and no audible reverse beeper.
