The virtual check-in feature didn't work on the website. Never progressed past "Awaiting approval" while standing outside the vehicle. The app did not work during the return process either. Multiple attempts were made to upload a photo of the mileage and fuel but the app never recognized/acknowledged that a photo had been taken. Thank fully M&S Convenience was able to help me with the process manually.Jeffrey A.

Simon, the owner of the store VERY unprofessional and not helpful. I rented a truck to move my daughter from a bad area of town to a safer neighborhood. At about 1 am I was ready to move my last load. When I went to get the key for the truck it was missing. I wasn't sure if I dropped it in the mud outside or if it was stolen from the hook near the opened front door. Panicked and overwhelmed I called to report a lost key to road assistance listed on the contract. No one was able to help me until the next day. Worried that someone might steal the truck, I attempted to contact the owner of the store. I wasnt able to call him until the store opened at 830am as posted on the store's front door. So I stayed in the truck all night. Owner did not open until just before 10am. When I told him about losing the key he became angry with me and told me he doesn't have an extra key. Told the lady in line behind me that she can't have a truck now cause I lost a key. I apologized to her and asked him to help me or call his boss. He told me to go online and figure out how to get a key. I did go back online. I was told to find a locksmith and that I would be charged about $250.00 to get a new key despite paying insurance. It turned out to be an American truck with Arizona plates. I had to call th US to get a key code and PIN for my locksmith. Fortunately the customer service I received from the online service was exceptional and everyone was caring and understanding. I was able to get the key replaced and the truck back to the store by 2pm (I rented the truck at 506pm the day before - 21 hours total ). When I came back to the store Simon's wife was there to serve me but she kept stopping to serve others. She said she would charge me for 1 day + 15.00 for gas. I had already put 25. 00 in the tank to return it to the amount that I was told to before returning it to the store. As she was serving another customer, Simon returned and yelled at her in Chinese. He took the key from me and asked me where I got it. I told him I hired a locksmith to make it. He laughed at me and said he didn't think you would be able to do that. He changed the form to charge me an additional day even though I think I would have been able to return it earlier if he had opened at 830am instead of 10am. He was very rude and condescending to me. He was not at all helpful. I am a 65 year old educated, professional woman. He treated me with no respect. I have worked in the public sector for more than 42 years. I know how important first impressions make on a company's success. Because of Simon I would probably never use U-Haul ever again and I will share my negative experiences with anyone I know needing a truck rental service. However the services I received from roadside assistance online would make me change my decision. I would likely just warn them about Simon's location as being uncaring, unhelpful and disrespectful. When I asked if the lost key was covered by insurance Simon laughed again. He used my charge card on file to complete the transaction. I was charged a total of$157.20 for 2 days, distance & 2 days insurance. The receipt was printed on the opposite side of a previous receipt from 2012 that contains financial information from another customer. The 15.00 that I paid for gas does not show on the receipt as I was asked to pat cash. Again, unprofessional and sketchy business practices. I was not asked to sign for payment or for confirmation of services. In fact I had to ask for the receipt and when I asked for his name, he printed Simon on the receipt. I do however possess confidential information and signature from a previous U-Haul customer. I don't know if you will do anything to correct the unprofessionlism of Simon but I have let you know how I was treated and how it has left an impression on me. I felt that I was treated poorly as I was an elderly woman and presumed to be stupid. If Simon is the 'first impression of U-Haul ' you should concerned. One more thing before I close....Simon covered the contract number on paperwork was given with a sticker which made online communications very difficult to navigate. When I pointed it out to him he smirked at me and turned away from me. This very negative experience leaves me not trusting Simon with my financial information. I will be contacting the BBB regarding my fears that Simon will compromise the security of my personal information. Thank you for the stellar customer service that I received online to replace the key which surprisingly was not covered by insurance that would cover the loss or destruction of a truck. I hope this review is helpful and effects change in your company's practices . DMdeborah M.
I have dropped of the truck at after hours to return the key. I left my mobile holder in the truck and I realized that when I was getting home. The rep from this location called me back next morning and kind enough to let me know he will save it to pick up. That is the customer service.Naveen T.

When I dropped the truck off the owner of the store indicated this truck should not have been driven on the 401â€¦as it was strictly to be used as a city truck. This information would have been good to know as I had just driven to and from London in a truck that continually reved up to 6000 RPM'sâ€¦not the best customer service/safety concerns. As mentioned in my above comment, the back of the vehicle was full of dust but the drop off location waived the $25 cleaning fee which I was subjected to. I was moving my sons furniture for university.Jeff C.
The people were very rude and misbehaving and the vehicle wer dirty when I told the lady specially she were start fighting my experience were really bad with this location I will suggest to cancel the location in future I am not be going to this location at leastowais O.

Please don't EVER EVER EVER rent a Uhaul from this location - I got a truck that was already quite dirty in the back (I'm not one to complain) when I brought the truck back was some dust in the back . The male owner proceeds to YELL very loud to charge me $25 fee to clean (which I wasn't even worried about) . He continued to yell and scream . When I first walked in the store he was already yelling at something so sounds to me he was taking his bad day out on me . Don't be the next.Lucas M.

I do not agree with the extra fuel charge against me. I topped-up the fuel even more than the level I met it ( I can send the receipt to you as evidence) only for me to be charged again. I think the way the fuel gauge is assessed is not to be objective. It will be appreciated (especially for this location because I have not experience this in other locations) if an objective way of gauging the fuel level is established. Thank you.aderemi A.

I have used UHaul several times, never have I seen such a poor service, even though I reserved a truck for 24hr online, this location forced me to return it in 4 hours, when I said I cant, they charged me double the price. Even this was not enough, they were discussing which way to part the car on slope to check gas gage, even though I put gas in it for driving only 15km, they were not convinced. VERY POOR SERVICE. NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION, SAVE YOURSELF FROM HEADACHE.seyedMahmood M.

The rented dolly and furniture pads should be brought out by attendant. We should not have to do it. And I am a tax-exempt Native and presented my card, yet I was still charged full taxes. This is a violation of Revenue Canada rules re: status Natives. The attendant had no idea how to do it on the computer, and didn't seem to want to be bothered with finding out. This is the second time this has happened to me, and I will avoid UHaul from this point on.Sandra M.

In the end everything worked out however it took numerous phone calls and booking changes which is very frustrating when you are on a tight moving schedule. I struggle with going in to reserve a uhaul only to find out within 24 hours of your planned move that your reservation has to change. I originally had booked a trailer for pick up on Friday in Amherstburg and return Saturday ( also in Amherstburg). It was changed to pick up in Windsor and return in Windsor both on Friday. Our move out day in Toronto was Saturday morning. How could uhaul's change to my reservation have helped me? We had to make several calls to right this which was very frustrating. Maybe you should take mom-refundable payments from customers at the time of the booking to guarantee the rental.Matthew S.
Although the gentleman at the store was helpful the location is a little sketchy and almost impossible to pull a trailer into. I didnt know if we were ever going to fit in the parking lot let alone unhook the trailer. I'd recommend doing a Google view before choosing your drop off location just to see what you're getting into.Edward G.

The next customer was so upset I was late and I notified owner that I was running late which was due to half an hour delay to rent car dolly at Walker location .. this convenience store owner threatened to charge me two day rental when I had truck for 5 hours. When I tried to explain he was yelling at me and said the other customer was more important..because she was a regular in his variety than the two girls threatened..as if the were going to jump me...I believe he overcharged me on mileage and I rented this truck to help my senior mother move This service is unacceptable in all levels..Tina M.

Do not move the location for pick up all the way cross-town. This decision by U-Haul to change the pickup/drop-off location from Walker Rd to Felix Ave added KM's needed to be driven, gas, and inconvenience.Stuart K.
