Location was a storefront for numerous business. Customer service was abysmal. Language ability was extremely low. I couldn’t get any explanation or review of what I was paying for. The whole experience from beginning to end felt like a scam. Charged additional for gas inappropriately. Had to walk a block away through a residential yard. Rental truck parked in someone’s back yard. I had it document damage on vehicle on my own in the dark. No explanation on additional charges on delivery. Concerned I will see more after the fact charges on my visa. U-haul has always been such a button-up company; Professional, fair and customer-centric. This was the most unprofessional experience I think I have ever had.

MBOUNA NI recently rented a U-Haul and had an extremely poor experience. The entire process felt shady from start to finish. The communication was unprofessional and unclear, and no one took the time to explain anything about the vehicle or the rental terms. The information provided beforehand was misleading, and the reality was far from what was advertised. The vehicle itself was dirty, poorly maintained, and it was given to us with no gas to start with. To make matters worse, the charges were outrageous — we were originally quoted under $100, yet ended up being charged nearly $400 with no explanation or proper communication. The location itself did not feel trustworthy, and the overall experience left us feeling taken advantage of. Based on this experience, I would never recommend this company to anyone. It was unprofessional, misleading, and left us with a very bad impression.
Lauren HShady office (6669 Main St) with multiple businesses and no single sign that it’s U-Haul. Booked mobile pick up but had to enter the office for extensive check-in. Two blocks far pick up and drop off in someone’s private driveway with raccoons (265 East 51st St). The van was dirty at pick up. The van didn’t have any Uhaul sticker. You can’t see how much gas you have so you guess you got it full.
