The pick up and drop off process was terrible. I was using the app and it was so ridiculously slow but wouldn’t move at all, just spin. It took 30 mins for each process of pick up and drop off. I have rented uhauls many times before and never had this experience. I would not refer or do again. I never even got to complete check in on app because it would not work and I had to call and process through email. 1/10 👎🏼

JONATHAN PMy original rental was cancelled (not by me). Uhaul arranged for another one that same AM. The pick up did not go smoothly though the woman helping did her best. The system was giving both her and me problems. The smart phone requirement to upload and transact is NOT helpful and needs to be able to be quickly over ridden.
Chris MThe #2 pad lock was extremely difficult to get opened. It took me 30 minutes to get opened. It needs lubricating or replacing.

I had to unhook the trailer. then I got her to sign the copy because she did not know how to sign me in. Then I get an e-mail from u-haul wanting to know when i was going My dad owned to turn the trailer in. My Dad owned a dealership for 20 years in Pensacola and I worked there until i went into the army.
Fred TOverall this was the worst experience I have ever had with Uhaul. Marathon was ok. Our reservation started at Cornerstone in Cullman. After starting over 3 times, the young man gave me the key, then told me my card declined. This was my office card with quite a bit of money in it. I then provided a personal card which had more than enough money. He said it was declined. My husband asked him to call Uhaul and ask for help. He refused saying they could not help. After over an hour we left. I called Uhaul and was immediately given a reservation at the Vinemont location. There was some confusion on whether we got a key from the cashier but it was quickly resolved. And my office card worked just fine.
Bobby DFirst of all, they didn't report I had picked up the Uhaul so I got a message wanting me to call two hours after I had already picked it up. When I returned it they forgot to dispatch I returned it so I got a email saying equipment was not returned and it took 5 days for it to get fixed. They are very incompetent!!!!!!
Bridget DReturning the truck to a gas station, you would think that you would be able to fill up there but they were out of gas. This lead to an additional 2 miles to get gas (which was 2 of the 10 miles I was charged for being over mileage. 15 of the miles were from having to pick up a truck in the wrong direction and mileage not being adjusted).
Eric FOnline renting pain in the ass . I checked in at 8 when I arrived and the system was messed up , had to wait until 9:40 to rent . Called and discussed this rental and how the milage was 50 miles off exactly "this is noted in the system" .Here you are trying to deduct money out of my account again . Stop already .
Eric CLocation could not support counter service. Swapped me to mobile pickup without telling me before hand. Gave me truck with no dolly and furniture pads. Upon return, location tried to send me to another location to pickup dolly and pads. Truck had less than 1/4 tank of fuel at pickup. Had to fill up and was forced to return truck with 3/8 tank of fuel.

Josh GI had a horrible experience scheduling this move. I ended up with 2 reservations at different times. The first was at the right place at the wrong time and the second was at the wrong place at the right time. I got a call from customer service about missing my pickup and ended up getting set up with a 3rd reservation about 50 miles away from the original reservation. Since the first person had screwed up my reservation they gave me 80 miles free and $.40/mi. The catch was that I had to return it to a location 50 miles away. This was inconvenient. On my way to pick up the truck I got a call from the dealer that I had a reservation with at the right time, but wrong location. He was angry and dropped the "F" bomb during our conversation. When I finally got to the new location that customer service sent me to (3rd reservation 50 miles away), it was at a gas station and nobody inside knew anything about Uhaul. There was a lock box with keys, but I wasn't given the combination. I called the number on the lockbox and after 30 minutes on hold I hung up. I went back into the gas station and begged for help. She called the owner and he was able to reach the Uhaul dealer. He then called me and gave me the code. I got in the truck and left. On my way home I received a text from Uhaul stating the truck was due back the next day. I requested a 3 day rental! After 45 minutes on the phone I git it changed to a 3 day rental. This was by far my worst uhaul experience. I rent from uhaul a fair amount. This definitely left a mark. If someone reads this and wants to call me my number is 205-966-0735.
jason mDid not have appliance dolley had to drive 15 miles from pick up point to another uhaul to get one. That added to mileage I had to pay. Why went trucks when you don’t have all equipment needed.

Mark WCheryl and Nikki were awesome, especially Cheryl though, as she did everything she could to help me throughout my whole ordeal of picking up everything I had reserved for my rental. The only problem was she couldn't get the exact drop-off location verified when she tried to pull it up, so it took a little longer to get in & out. My biggest problem with the whole U-Haul rental experience this time, was there not being equipment at what was suppose to be my place of pickup, which would have only required me to drive less than 2 miles to get to. Because of this, the closest truck available to fit my needs was over an hour's drive away, thus causing some logistics issues just to get there in time to pick the truck, but then having to go to another location to pick up an appliance dolly and blankets, since the Marathon of Vinemont location didn't have them, and before both places closed. After spending a countless amount of time on the phone, Cheryl was so nice to give me the contact info of another U-Haul place close by that I picked those items up from. Lisa at that place was awesome as well. Moving is stressful enough in itself, but with everything I had to endure, from the change in the pickup place of the truck, to having to get to another place to pick up the dolly and pads, and plus, all of this causing a delay in even being able to start loading because we had to drive over an hour each way instead of the original 2 miles, and also finding out that U-Haul had made a mistake with my original rental needs and quote, made this the most stressful U-Haul experience I have ever had! I'm just glad it's over and hope I never have to go through that again, as it was nothing but a huge, inconvenient ordeal, but that it's finally over!

Jaret HDrop off location was about 30 miles from requested drop off city, and we passed multiple UHaul locations along the way. That seemed a bit unreasonable. Your rental return app should be programmed so that it saves each screen and the customer doesn't need to start from the beginning if they have a service interruption or accidentally close the app. It took me about four attempts to get all the way through, and taking the required pictures multiple times in a driving rainstorm made it even more frustrating.
William HI did not have the dolly I rented and was still charged for it even though I called as soon as I got the truck. Pick up via mobile is terrible at this place. The person I got the keys from had no clue said she was never trained. It was overall an absolute nightmare moving without the equipment I was suppose to have.

Mike BI previously had a reservation for 10:00 am for Marathon in Falkville, AL! There was no truck there but website said it was. I asked clerk at store and he said it possibly is on its way there! I cancelled that reservation and I noticed two trucks at Vinemont location and that is where I called for availability and that is where I will go from now on!
Steven PI wouldn’t recommend this place for a self pick up but the lady that worked in the store was great!
DAVID LChecking in and out is very slow. Employee has regular store customers and no one dedicated to U-Haul customers. The bounce between can get frustrating. A dedicated location would be much better.
GARRY KI reserved a 17’ truck that was to be picked up at 8 a.m at your Cornerstone Beverage location on 4/28/2021. I checked in via my device and was told that there wasn’t any equipment available and that the truck that I had rented was rented out to another customer the previous day. The employee at this location was very rude and not helpful at all. Luckily we were able to secure another vehicle for the day.
Sharon SMake sure the previous customer cleans up the truck before next customer rents a truck. There was mud in the driver side floor and on the steps.

Suzanne SGas station with one attendant, have to wait about 45 minutes for them to complete it. Not acceptable when the other locations take less than 10 minutes. The only thing they send me to this location, the other two don't have any truck.
Benjamin WThe cab of the Uhaul was clean but the storage area had cock roaches. We had to lysol and sweep. The store where we picked it up from was a new dealer with a new cashier, I had to wait awhile for her to figure out how to do things, it was not her fault. I did like the convenience of being able to get a truck at the last minute on any day of the week. When this location and people learn how things work, it will be a good place to deal with. The other issue was that due to this site being a new dealer, I was unable to get a furniture dolly or furniture pads. I would recommend Uhaul.
Freda HThe uhaul website completely sucks! I tried to return it online and the experience was dismal to say the least! I hate your website and think you need to scrap it and start again. The store i rented from was awesome. Uhaul itself is an abysmal failure!
DANA KEmployees did not know pickup or drop off procedures. Very frustrating, even though employees are present they make you go online and return equipment. Had nothing to do with covid, just procedures.
