LYNN ANo one was around, had to use the drop box, so I can’t really say much about the person to person experience. But the drop off was easy and so was the app process. Location was a little hard to find, but once I saw the other vehicles I understood the process.

Tracy CUsing the app was a nightmare. One of the employees mentioned that if you step outside of an invisible radius from the front door, it can cause the app to crash. So… maybe park the trucks well within that radius so the app doesn’t crash as I’m simply walking around the vehicle. 😆
Lucas HCalled to ask a question about dome light being on 100 percent of the time, even while driving. The rep in Vancouver never called back. Thus our 2 day drive became a full 24 hr drive because we were not sure if the light would drain battery if we stopped over night. That was not fun.

Also, there are NO signs telling us where to go to pick up our vehicle at the location we picked up AND the location we dropped off. I would recommend better wayfinding for both locations.

Marilyn SI rented a 10' box truck, Mills Plain customer service was great, drove just slightly over 10 miles total with relatively no elevation, only 3 of those miles had a modest load of some household items from storage (kitchen chairs, baskets, fake plants, etc), and yet the truck used 4.31 gallons of gas for 10 miles. Any well maintained truck would not use gas like that. I have used 10' box trucks for similar jobs before and typically they get around 15 miles per gallon. This truck got just over 2 miles per gallon. Should have used less than 1 gallon of gas at most. Would like to know if I can be reimbursed for the excessive gas use at $4.89 per gallon?
Owen JIt was unexpected to find that further instructions on returning the truck were provided in email not a text as other communications. Took a few minutes to figure out that I should look for an email. The system’s instructions on returning keys for newbies could indicate earlier in the text, “keep your keys until you have taken a snapshot of the odometer as proof of the reported mileage”). Otherwise, a very positive experience.

Milinda NThe website errored out partway through the reservation, which made it very difficult. Also the incredible amount of pictures needed to check in was kind of ridiculous.
Erica EVeh was out of gas and died before leaving parking lot. This was due to a break in and gas tank damage. While it was not their fault for the damage, it was a hassle. Then they charged the 14.00 damage waiver.
Kathy UI had a 7 am pick up using apps, had trouble using apps, called 369-356-1577 for assistance,the customer service didn't have enough experience in how to help customer. It took 1 hour to get into the truck key, IN THE RAIN! U-Haul needs to train a better customer service and apps.

Pam GHad to pick up truck (2hrs away) at one location. Then pick up auto-transport trailer at another, (4+ hrs round-trip). We returned the auto-transport trailer near our destination (Mesa, AZ). Then U-HAUL grantef us storage at Queen Creek, AZ and required we return truck for maintenance at a different location (Tempe, AZ). All in all we received a $25 discount, which did not even cover fuel costs.

Rebecca RI was surprised at how much the process had changed since my last rental. I needed to use my smartphone and data plan extensively for both the pick up and the return. The app worked well overall, and I liked being able to provide photos right there and then. There are few points I was concerned about though: 1) I had no idea that I would need this ahead of time. If I'd showed up without my phone or with no data it seems like I wouldn't have been able to pick up my truck. I know such phones are very common now, but U-Haul is definitely a business that serves low income customers in times of serious need. That could be a real problem for some customers. 2) There was s slight glitch or bug which gave me a "time-out" message at the end of my check-in instead of telling me it successfully completed. I had to call support to make sure it had completed correctly. (The call was fast and effective, but shouldn't have been needed.) 3) I did not have a QR reader on my phone which made the return process a little less convenient. The woman on site was very helpful in providing a browser alternative, but it would have been easier if U-Haul had placed the link for that in my first confirmation email. (It's possible they did somewhere, but I had no idea until I was through the process, how phone-centric it would be.)
GEORGE NHow can driving a total of 9 miles equate to charging me 3 gallons of gas. It was a completely empty vehicle that was merely used to pick up a large item from Lowes. This is ridiculous. Never rent from here again.
Byron CFront desk person wasn’t there when I arrived. I called and she said she was running errands and would be back in 10 min- wasn’t there for another 25. Almost forgot to give me my license back at end. Super unhappy with service-I won’t be coming back to this location.
Mariah GThe truck had 110,000 miles on it and got 5 miles to the gallon, made more noise than a jet flying low overhead.
MICHAEL JThe person running this location was very nice and came out when they saw me pull in. My only suggestion would be putting up some better signage. There isn't a lot of signage on the main office and it was hard to see/know where to go
