One area that needs serious improvement is ensuring that the equipment customers book online is actually available. On Saturday, I reserved a truck four days in advance, but when I arrived, it wasn’t there. I ended up driving to four different locations before finally finding one, which pushed me back more than three hours behind schedule. Because of that delay, all of the help I had lined up was no longer available, and I was forced to move everything by myself. On top of the inconvenience, I was charged almost $200 for only renting the truck for four hours, and I wasn’t offered any kind of compensation. This experience was extremely frustrating, disappointing, and completely unacceptable. I will never rent a truck from U-Haul again, and I hope future customers don’t have to go through what I did.

No one was available to assist with hooking up the trailer and verifying the electrical connections. Granted, if you are unable to do that by yourself, you shouldn't be hauling. It just seemed like a potential liability issue.
