Employee was sitting in a car when we arrived. The employee and I approached the door at the same time. I said “Morning!” as I approached. The employee did not respond. The employee did not great me nor speak to me as I approached. The employee unlocked the door, stepped inside, and let the door slam shut, not offering to hold the door open so that I could also come into the building. I attempted to open the door, but it was locked. I pulled again and confirmed that it was locked. My spouse joined me at the door at this time. I was just able to view the employee due to the reflection of the glass door. I was just able to see the employee leaning over behind the counter. After we waited many seconds, my spouse suggested I try the door again. I did and this time it was unlocked. At no time did I hear a bell, buzzer or any other noise to indicate that the door was now unlocked. The employee did not great us nor identify themself as we entered the building. The first thing the employee said was “Name?” The employee only spoke in one word or very short sentences for the entire encounter. Once the information was exchanged the employee pointed to two parked U-Haul trucks at the end of the lot, read off the truck number for one of them, and handed me the key. The employee did not walk me to the truck nor participate in the inspection of the truck. As I left the lot, I stopped to share with the employee the two damaged locations on the truck. The employee rapidly nodded their head up and down and responded by telling me to pull the truck forward so that they could close the gate. The employee did not share any form of departure statement, like “Thanks” or “Have a safe Trip” or “Thanks for using U-Haul!”. I was disappointed that a lot of the information that I was requested to supply to the employee I had already entered into the U-Haul system via computer several days prior. If I enter the information, such as the location where I am going to drop off the truck, into the U-Haul system via computer, I should not have to again tell the employee the same information. Please have me do it once, and only once.
