Complete Nightmare. Unsafe, Unprofessional, and Unreliable. Rating: ⭐ 0/5 Stars (If I could give negative stars, I would) I am absolutely furious with the abysmal service I received from U-Haul. I booked a 9:00 PM pickup at 9650 Camino Ruiz San Diego location that explicitly advertised "24/7 Truck Share App Pickup." You would think that means you show up, use the app, get your keys, and go. Instead, it was a complete bait-and-switch. When I arrived, the app locked me out and instructed me that I couldn't check out on my phone and had to call customer service instead. I was forced to sit in a dark, empty parking lot for FORTY MINUTES waiting on hold. As time ticked by, I felt completely unsafe waiting around in the dark, with absolutely no assurance that I was actually going to get the truck I had reserved and paid for. To make matters worse, I had incredibly important work scheduled for early the next morning that depended entirely on having this rental tonight. After wasting nearly an hour of my night in limbo, the representative finally came on the line only to tell me they didn't even have the truck ready and that I had to drive to an entirely different location to pick one up. U-Haul’s "24/7" promise is a joke, their app is broken but the customer service was the only shining light in this situation. They quickly switched my reservation to 9130 Dowdy and I was able to get my rental after a 45 minute wait. 9650 Camino Ruiz completely jeopardized my morning schedule. Absolute garbage experience.
