Vehicle had trash in the cab and smelled. Since I was in a rush to get out of town, I left to load my furniture and get on the road. I drove almost 300 miles with my window down to alleviate the smell. Gas reading was lower than indicated on paperwork.

Trent MDon’t allow people to book trucks in advance if there are no trucks in the area. And if there are no trucks available once the appointment comes around call them sooner than 4:30pm the day before to try and find them another truck. Most places close by 5pm so having to reschedule at 4:30pm is very stressful and does not make the moving experience good.

DENNIS MI only drove round trip about 27 miles or so and the gas needle barely moved so I got charged $8.00 for 2 gallons of gas Really?? 2 gallons the gas needle didn't even move. So how am I supposed to gauge that? or anyone for that matter!! there should be a minimum limit allowed for local travel or some sort of gauge that lets you know

charles rOnce again, the 24/7 truck share was a nightmare. This location was also closed. We had a hard time knowing if we were in the right place. We were able to process the return, but we could not find the key drop box. Once again we called customer service. They told us to look for an orange box, which we did for 15 minutes. They transferred us to another department, who supposedly would know the exact location of the key drop box for that location. They told us it is an orange drop box. We explained that there is not an orange drop box. They instructed us to leave the key in the red emergency box in the cab of the truck, which is what we did. I called this morning to make sure they knew where the key was located. I asked them where their orange drop box was located. She said they don't have one, and that most people drop the key in the mail slot in the door. We checked the door and there was no signage to drop the keys in the mail slot. Awful experience. Total time dealing with the pick up and drop off was more than 90 minutes.

Samirria AThis was by far the worst experience that I’ve ever had dealing with U-haul. I’m not even referring to the specific location. Didn't need any added stress in addition to having to move in general. I checked online before even making a reservation or calling to rent a truck. I ended up just doing a live chat, my question was if a family member could pay at one location & I pick up at another. The answer was no but my mom could reserve & pay over the phone & I could go to my nearest location to pick up. Ok so she called & took care of her part at 9:59am. The person she spoke with set the reservation to 10am. Right around the time I arrived to the location I received a message informing me that my reservation was cancelled. I then called & was told that, that happened cause I was late for pick up.No one ever let us know that, that would happen. The lady I spoke with said that she would try to resend the reservation basically "uncancel" it. Got that taken care of i walked right inside and had to wait 10-15 minutes (maybe even longer) The lady finally came to the front desk & did apologize, said they were short help. She eventually found the reservation but had to give her all the info to enter it again. Just to be told I had to pay (which was suppose to be done already). When I mentioned that, she said she didn't have access to see the full card number not only that but then she said she would have to physically see the card be swiped as well & it couldn't be paid over the phone. I only had a very short window to get my entire 2 bedroom trailer's contents moved & into storage. I only had a few hours left. Then I Called my mom told her the issue, & she ended up calling the 1-800 number yet again. Finally mom called me back 30-45 minutes later with the only resolution being for her to drive over an hour away to pay & complete the rental. With time not on my side & no other options I asked mom to wait so I could see if anything else would work. I got online and made a reservation at a different location. Everything started out great, never saw anything saying I had to have a credit card for the rental, in fact the only thing I ever saw was that you needed a credit card for pick up trucks, & van rentals. I arrived at this location and started the pick up process online. Then after going through almost the entire process got to the end & then was told about the CC, I did another live chat just to find out if I had to pay with CC or if I could just pay cash. Nope Can't pay cash only card, had to go 10-15 mins away to put money on my card just to drive 10-15 mins back to the location. All just to find out that they didn't need to physically swipe the card at this location. Finally got to the end & Finished out the online pick up just to have to go inside to be let in the gate,then back out to find the truck.......then lord & behold had to go back inside yet again for the keys. What's the point in having an online pickup option if you have to go inside anyway??? At least when going in intially, it wouldn't have to happen but once well twice in my situation. I'm sure the process would've been a lot faster as well. Ok finally got everything finished, & was in the u-haul trying to leave the parking lot just to get to the gate to find that I have to go back inside yet again so I could exit the gate. I left my house at 10:30 that morning to go to u-haul & pick up the truck, I didn't return back home with the U-Haul rental until 2:30-3:00 that afternoon. My entire day was completely wasted & I ended up loosing half my belongings anyway due to lack of time available to pack & move. I've had plenty of bad experiences with U-Haul, but also have had plenty of "ok" or decent enough experiences. But I've never experienced anything like this. After the rental was returned and probably around 7 days later I get a notification informing me that U-Haul tried to charge my card the full amount again. Not sure what that was about or even if it was just a mistake all together. But one thing I am 100% sure of is I will never call upon u-haul for my rental needs ever again. Everyone stays in a rush the majority of their life so the 1st thought when having to move or needing a rental truck is always (or always for me) has been u-haul, but after all this that won't be the case any longer. There are actually several other options & most are even cheaper. I'm more than happy going with those options in the future.

I had to call and change my location because there are 2 Morrisville/Morresville in NC, I did not catch that it was in a different City but calling in and making the change was easy as well. Gary FI reserved a conversation van two weeks ahead of our move and when I went to pick it up, the location didn’t have a conversion van so I had to take a moving truck instead. It was way more than we needed, not easy to drive and not what I had reserved. It was disappointing.

Mitchell LAfter hours is a disaster. The gate was closed and there is no key return. Phone number for the office is unhelpful. Waited on hold for a very long time to talk to a Uhaul rep to finally sort it out. Fortunately, the rep was helpful.
