On the day of the pickup, I was on the phone with customer service for almost an hour trying to figure out how to pick up the van. The customer service told me that the person at the garage could just give me the key without me providing a code. The person insisted that I had to provide a key… That went on for over 40 minutes .. I finally got connected to the U Haul person Luis who’s in charge of the location. Luis finally told the person at the garage to give me the key. And he was very apologetic and promised to give me $50 credit after I returned the van. I called Luis the following day with his personal number 917-951-9853 to follow up. He did not answer. I left a voicemail and but never received a call back. Very disappointed with the service.. What was even worse was when I was trying to move the van out of the parking spot. The van was covered by snow. I had to spend over 30 minutes shoveling the snow so that I could move the van out. And that day was very cold, around 5 degrees… I would really appreciate it if someone could read the review and get back to me and provide some compensation for the huge inconvenience and struggle I had the day I was picking up the van.

The person to get the van was extremely difficult, did not know what he was doing, making the pick up almost an hour late. We never got the Dolly we ordered with the van either. It was a horrible experience. Dropping it off was easier and the person that was present during drop off was kind and helpful.
Garrett CThe app doesn’t work underground where you pick up the keys because there’s no cell service. Parking is really tight, the app doesn’t text you a code to unlock the keys because the parking attendant has them. None of this is communicated and prevents you from leaving and coming back on time.
Larry FNothing as far ss I'm concern.
LATASHA WAgain, horrible experience. I arrived at my original dropoff location, but then the person at the location told me I couldn't drop off my truck because it was too big. Nobody informed me about this situation before, during, or after my trip. I called customer service, and then they told me to drop off at another location in Bronx. I arrived there, and there was no parking space for my truck either. I called customer service, and the lady put me on hold for 30 minutes. So I made another call, and another lady told me to just park next to the two U-haul trucks at the place, but I don't think the parking space is for my U-haul truck, definitely not for a 26-foot truck. When I finally parked, and I was looking at the U-haul app on my phone to see where I could drop off the key, but the app did not show the reservation I made (not even past ones). So I was not able to find the key drop box. I called customer service again, and after another 30 minutes, yet another lady told me to leave the key under the driver's seat (this is in Bronx). This is my first and also last U-haul experience.
