I was sent to a place more than 8 miles away from my requested location (more than 30 minute drive, instead of being able to walk to it .8 miles away) even though there were 3 dealers within a short distance (.8, 2.5 and 3 miles) away. UHaul USED to make sure all requested equipment and supplies were correctly available at locations. (I don't think this was because of COVID, as I rented a truck about 10 days prior from the requested location in Atlanta that was less than a mile away. Frankly, it seemed to me they were just trying to get business to this location given the gentleman told me he had not been in business very long.) He was nice enough, but the equipment was less than 1/4 full of gas, inside cab was dirty, and even though I had advance reservation, there was no dolly and the 2 dozen blankets were not there. I was told I would have to drive somewhere to pick them up. NONE of which was an option for me. The key had been somehow been cut almost in half lengthwise with no standard place to hold the thumb and finger to start the truck. I had to "fix" some thing on it to give proper leverage, when I returned to a place with materials, as it was tearing up my thumb and finger to try to start the truck. I needed the truck that day / that time, so did not argue about the condition or gas. I called a person who had assigned the location to me and asked why the blankets and dolly were not available. She said she has no visibility on what items are available at the locations, which I don't really buy - think it was an excuse. IF it is true, then UHaul is way behind the times on logistics capability and management and needs to fix that issue. I rent regularly from UHaul. (Probably 12-14 times in the past 7 years) I was never told to go that far to pick up a less than satisfactorily cleaned vehicle and never told they could not supply what I requested in the way of blankets, etc. This was a terrible experience.Wendi C.
Worst possible neighborhood imaginable. Did not want to get out and the office was closed so there was no one to help. Very disturbing. Will never go there againTERRANCE E.
