The gas gauge was wrong, but other than that, no problems at this location. I was not told when I made the reservation that it was an unmanned pick up location, nor was I told about the $1.19 per mile charges until I was on site and picked up the truck.

This was an unmanned drop off location. We did not see anyone while we were there. Phone/internet service was not good there which made it very difficult to use the app for the drop off procedure (be sure to already have the app downloaded before you get there). Luckily there was one parking spot available for the truck when we arrived. This location was most convenient for us.
DARIN BIt was such a confusing set of circumstances. It took an extra hour. The driver was different than the card holder and the owner was very helpful in setting everything up. But it practice it fell apart. We ended up being locked out of the truck. The local service center folks were pleasant but the system was confusing. It took too long. The codes didn't work.

ROGER HYou are forced to pick up your truck with the app at this location. The truck designated for me was caked in mud. The app asked if it was clean, and if you select "no", they require a photo to show how it's not clean. The app wouldn't let me take a photo from that prompt, and essentially forced me to flag the truck as "clean" in order to finish picking up my rental. Dirty vehicles and equipment are subject to additional fees upon drop-off.

ROGER H100 percent self service. Lock boxes dimly lit and some do not work. Fuel level was wrong and communication was poor. 24/7 should be better run or have an attendant there on site.
Chris DThe owner deliberately misinformed me in order to make a lot more money. I was misdirected to get the 10’ truck instead of the van that I wanted. And was outright lied to, being told that it would actually be more cost effective. I found out afterwards that the owner of the site by the ferries only carries trucks and didn’t want to lose my business, so out of greed lied to me about costs. In actuality the first 100 miles on the van would have been free. And then about 50 cents a mile after. Instead I payed nearly $1.50 per mile, going to Seattle and back (which the owner knew I would be doing). I was also informed by another vendor that there were other ways he could have offered me savings with round trip, etc. I had to get the bond keys from another vendor. And return them there too, even though I had been informed otherwise by the owner. More lies! It’s all about greed with this owner! It cost me a lot! Not worth it. Beware! Also there is no one available at this location. Major hassle. Thought it would be convenient being an islander close to the ferry landing. Not worth it!
Maija WThe pick up and drop off locations were fine. The truck itself was fine. The process of getting the truck was awful. It took us an hour and phone conversations with 3 different representatives and still the wrong lock box was given.

Kevin Pthis appears to be an unmanned location which is fine but if there was a problem we would have to call. All we did was park the truck and drop off the keys in the box and check out online which is a horrible experience especially with bad cell service in that area.
Laura HIt's super difficult to get a 15 foot truck out of the lot and turn so that you don't get stuck heading into the ferry lots.
Brandon BI put no for were personnel helpful because this was a self check-in without any interaction. That was easy and we were able to check-in no problem.
Craig FThe keys were in the wrong box, and the U-Haul mobile app was an epic fail! 45 mins wasted! Not to mention we were guaranteed to pick a truck in Mt. Vernon and never got a call that it changed. 30 mins the other direction. I asked for compensation and my call was never returned!

However, the telephone assistance from the UHaul company was excellent: the operators gave me all the help i required the two times i had to call, thank them !

Brian HThe automated check-in procedure to obtain the keys for the truck needs to be explained on the ap in greater detail. I am 72 years old and stumbled my way through the procedure with the help of the Uhaul live contact person. Fortunately the day before I talked to the person running the remote pickup location and he explained the procedure and gave me the assistant’s number. The location at the Anacortes Ferry lot could also use some type of seating next to the key box.
James CEveryone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. As I commented when I spoke to the staff, there were issues with the mobile app - it was throwing JSON errors. The locations and staff were all excellent and very helpful.
matt sThis remote location is a check in disaster. I used the app as requested. It didn’t work and I ended up having to call for help, only to have the attendant check me in to the wrong truck—wait for it—I didn’t realize this until I went to check back in and was told my mileage was wrong. After 45 minutes on the phone with two different U Haul representatives, and many manual pictures I was finally checked out. The whole fiasco was absolutely NOT MY PROBLEM, totally U-Haul check in operator problem. I missed my ferry due to this mess and I will Never, Ever, Ever, use or recommend this location for a U-Haul.
Greg KMake mobile check in easier; the UHAUL website wasn’t recognizing my location so I had to wait 30 minutes to call someone at a service center because it was a Sunday and the guy that gave me the number @ 0830 didn’t tell me that. Then I had to wait another 10 minutes for a manager to help the agent who was trying to help me, because he had never done a manual check in, which is what I wanted to do. The manager told me I would have to download the UHaul App to check in and I was having trouble with my phone so I couldn’t do that. He finally came up with the idea of FaceTiming me to verify my Drivers License photo matched who he was talking to, which I givthim credit for. Although the entire check in process took me an hour, which was ridiculous and cost me the chance to get a good breakfast at a local restaurant before getting on a ferry near the pickup location. Needless to say I was disappointed twice in the same week with the service from your company, you can do better than that. Sincerely, Todd Jensen
Todd JThe whole set up is a pain in the ass. When I finally got the key for the truck, there was possibly 12 inches between the driver side door and the van parked next to it. I had to climb in through the passenger door which isn't all that much fun with torn cartilage in my knee. I definitely won't be going to this location in the future.
Rena GRenting from this location was very easy through the mobile app ended up making a vehicle change halfway through our first reservation to a bigger truck. Everything went very smooth. Big shout out to Bill the contact for the location at the ferry Landing He was able to help me out when I had an issue, returning one of the vehicles and had it solved in no time. They have very good communication. I was able to get in touch with him even on a Saterday evening. I would highly recommend renting here and appreciate bills, knowledge of what it takes coming and going from the San Juan Islands.

Or opt in for the safe thing and I was told that I could get my money back after I was done with the rental well that wasn't the case I tried to dispute it and they are saying that everything (all charges) are final thats b.s. they were also trying to tell me that there's no further action that can be taken which is also total b.s and I don't agree with this either...

Juan QThe U-Haul App is TERRIBLE!! It took me and one of your Customer Service Reps 45 minutes - yes, you read that correctly, 45 fricking minutes - to check out my 15’ truck on Monday. Absolutely ridiculous!!! Fire the person in IT who is responsible for your App. It sucks and it’s costing you business!!!!
Douglas AI wish that I would have been told about this drop off location when I registered the truck. I did not know about it until I drove off of the ferry that takes me to my island home. To be able to use it, I had to drive a few more miles to the Fidalgo Bay Body Shop location where they tracked down the phone number for the One Cup at a time location and then back to the ferry terminal location where I went through the process of an online drop off, which worked as it was supposed to. The attendant on the phone for this location was helpful and friendly, as was the one at Fidalgo Bay Body Shop.

Stephen SAll in the same day: Truck 1- 0.5” hole drilled in gas tank. After noticing, It was a race to get from my home back to the UHaul pick up with the needle on E (10 minutes into rental). On the race back, I discovered that this burglared vehicle also had slick tires and I fishtailed in the strong winds. I had to buy over 100lb of kitty litter to clean up the quarter tank that leaked into my driveway. Truck 2- This one looked pretty and had no drilled gas tank holes and sufficient tread. I load up Truck 2 at home and… it doesn’t start. I had to jump it twice at home and travel with an accompanying vehicle at all times because I didn’t trust it would start… all for a 6 hr rental.
Michael SUse of Mobile to pick up keys did not work, after failed attempt (location had to be turned on) the ability to get code for access was no longer available. Site manager was not able to help get the code (why???) which resulted in a 1 hour customer service phone call with 2 different transfers. 2 hours later we had the truck. Once we had the truck it was all good, including the return except unclear what we would do if all parking places were gone (we found last one)?

Fred CThe online check in process was cumbersome and lengthy. It was actually insulting to have the call center have to call my wife to verify me. I’ve rented many trucks from U-Haul in recent months, and found the online experience to be the worst. An online check in should never take 15 minutes.
David WWhen renting via cellphone with no on-site employee, there were too many hoops to jump through, so the process takes some time.
Jerry WIt was so great I could and have someone walk me the other IOS privacy settings as I couldn’t get the location feature to work on my phone. Without her help, I wouldn’t have been able to rent the truck and would have lost a lot of time and money. I would suggest more information about how to change the settings on the iPhone, but if assistance is always available maybe not necessary.

Ed Sthe location was fine. Don't let people think they are renting close to their home if you know you will be asking them to drive a long way to pick up their truck. BE HONEST! taking money off the rental doesn't make up for the inconvenience of adding a 2 hour drive to get a truck.

Beecher S1) Arrived at pick up location, found truck, proceeded to struggle with janky lock for 20 minutes and contact customer service who's advice was to "shake it a little" which I did until brute force finally got it to open. Seriously, I had to put ALL my strength into it and the tumblers on the locks were VERY VERY sensitive. You need new locks and to test them for ease-of-use. (hence the low score on maintained equipment, the truck however was fine though could have used a little sweeping inside the box) 2) Your app experience is slow and tedious. 3) Upon returning the vehicle to the appropriate location the app would not upload the perfectly clear photos I was taking of the odometer and fuel gauge so I had to contact customer service again (30 - 40 minute wait times on the phone, WAT?! Thankfully the live chat was almost instant) who directed me to take pictures and email them to uhaul_cares@uhaul.com. Upon doing this the email was promptly sent back saying the "mailbox was full" making me think my proof of equipment return wasn't going through so I had to contact customer service AGAIN and they said it went thru to multiple agents so one of them got it. 5) In the FOUR TIMES I had to contact customer service today they were all very nice and as helpful as they could be and I thank them all for that. 6) your app sucks.
Morgan WThe people running location were bery nice and kind. Reservation service is awful! 4 location changes in 18 hours. That's ok. When we arrived the workers were unaware of the reservation and the cost was more than the original invoice.

Donald MThe service was horrible, the day of pickup was supposed to pickup in mount vernon wa but sent of 30 minutes out of our way to self pick up in Anacortes. Got there the app wasn't working, we got a rep to walk up there it which she was nice but still took 2 1/2 hours to check sign in the get the truck which we had some where to be at a certain time and put us way behind. The same thing happened at drop off, we left we were not gonna stay there again and spend 2 1/2 hours to drop off. We took pictures of the truck, miles, gas and I called. Spoke to a representative who said that I had to be at the location for live pictures. Explained that I was not gonna stay and go thru what I had to go thru at pickup. Offered the pictures to send to her or asked for her to walk me through how to drop off but she said she would just take a picture. I will never go back to uhaul again.
