The return store of where we dropped off the Uhaul was One Stop Shop #2 445 Doe Run Rd. Rocky Mount, VA 24151 540-352-4043 We dropped off there on Sunday because that was the only day my husband was off work. And it was right around the corner of where his office is. We had another trailer of our own to take to his office and leave. So we dropped off the uhaul trailer first then our trailer to his office. I'm currently disputing charges for late return. We actually returned the Uhaul trailer a day early. As I walked into the store, the gentlemen was in the floor counting money. I explained that we had a trailer to return and he asked me to wait a minute to finish counting. Finally when he finished he came to the door looked out and saw the trailer had been dropped and said ok. He never came out to look at it for a return inspection and just waived me on, and did ok. Gentlemen was more interested in some if the women patrons in the store than checking in my truck. Just wanted the keys and never wanted to check the truck or discuss my problems. Just walked away from me when I set the keys on the counter. And he was not wearing a mask.Reita R.

When I returned the rental, no one bothered to check it in as returned even tho I told the person on duty that I was returning the trailer. I was also overcharged an extra day on my rental and had to call Uhaul twice to rectify this. I was on hold to Uhaul on my first call for 30 minutes before a rep answered. The second call was a little better, only 20 minutes, and I was able to get the overcharge reversed. Overall, this experience left a lot to be desired.Rebecca C.

We were instructed to call before returning. We tried calling for 2 hours. We finally just drove to the location and dropped the trailer off. We went into the store to let the staff know that we had returned it and they said "okay." I asked them if they wanted the number off the trailer to note the return or if they wanted to inspect the trailer for damages and they said "why". So we took photos of the equipment as we left it on the lot in case there were issues claimed later. The "owner" was on the phone while he sat on a stool playing a video poker machine and was too busy to take calls or check the equipment. Would never select this location to rent or return equipment again. In fact, we passed another rental spot while on our way to this facility - it was not even presented as an option to us as a drop off location and was less than 3 miles from us. We traveled 18 miles to get to the place we dropped off. Why would that happen ever? Shouldn't we be given the option to use the closer location?Robin H.

My pick up time was 12 noon and I reserved a 26-foot truck (which was on the lot). I call the phone that is on the confirmation email from uhaul.com for the One Stop Shop #2 with no answer (I called the number 20 times through out the day on May 14th). I got to the One Stop Shop #2 at 12 noon and did leave there until 1:10 PM with the incorrect size truck. First the person at the location did not know how to enter the information into the computer do he call he relative (someome that also works at the One Stop Shop#2). The second person gets there and has to call a third person on the phone. The person on the phone states " I don't know why they (Uhaul.com) would send her there to pick up a 26 ft truck. We can't use that trick, we never use that truck. We can't put the number of the truck in the computer. She can go 20 minutes dowm the road to Union Hall and get a 26 ft truck or take a 20 ft at a discounted rate.") At this time I had been waiting an hour so t took rhe 20 ft truck from the One Stop Shop #2. The person give me the key and tells me that the truck number on the key is the one I take, so I had to go find the truck myself. The truck had someone's clothes in it and paper which I had to clean out. I also rented a 6Ã—12 (I got an up grade from a 5Ã—8 because the One Stop Shop #2 did not have them) which again took the person at the One Stop Shop #2 30 minutes to put information in the computer. This poor little dude coyld not or did not know how to hook up the lights into my truck outlet so I HAD TO DO IT MYSELF. I will NOT recommend the ONE STOP SHOP #2 to anyone to rent a Uhaul from. However I pick up my car transport from Tiger Rental and the were the best. They jooked it up to the 20 ft truck and then went around the transport and and explained and demo the teacher saying equipment as well as explaining the overdrive and everything.Mary H.

Had to clean out before I put my stuff in. It was very dirty. Check tire pressure light stayed on. Only half tank of gas. Then when I returned Uhaul, I was charged with extra mileage & for gas. I filled it up past the 3/4 Mark.I have photos of befor & after the use of Uhaul... I should not have been charged for this extra stuff.Misty B.

I dropped off the unit, the day before it was due. I went in to inform the worker I was dropping off the unit. He did not speak English and with gestures the communication to place the unit in the lot was accomplished. I wanted verification I delivered the unit. He kept indicating "it is fine". I eventually had him sign a statement, I delivered the unit as required. I did not return the unit using the email and taking pictures, etc. Physically returning the unit seemed more appropriate. I called the number the next day and was told, "everything is O.K.". I started to get emails closer to the due date and time. I couldn't understand why I was getting these since I returned it the previous day. Even if I tried to return it via email, I was at a different location than where it was delivered. I kept getting emails inquiring if I needed more time. Finally, I received a phone call which I returned and thanked them for calling. I have been trying to notify someone with UHAUL, I had returned the unit prior to the due date/time. The inquiries finally ceased. All this could have been prevented if the receiving location could have or would have recorded I returned the unit when I did.Robert P.

The attendant spoke very limited English and eventually got another person on the phone with whom I dealt. However, my contract for a one-way rental got somehow converted to a next-day return and the price more than doubled, none of which I could see at the time of pickup as I could not open the documents on my phone. Also, the store did not have accessories and I had to find a parts store several miles away to buy a ball hitch.William L.

This location was good but my rental one way was terrible! When u went to pick up the trailer in Moneta Va Rey did not have my size trailer. I had to drive 45 minutes to get the size I needed. I told him where I lived and wanted to return it. He had me returning it 3 hours away! Took me 2 hours on the phone to get my return location changed. What a nightmare!william T.

When we picked up the vehicle, the pressure in one of the tires was very low (in the low 40's instead of the 80's) and we had to fill it up ourselves before driving it. A simple check between customers could have prevented this issue. Also, the adjustment on the driver's seat was stuck and took many attempts to move before we could safely reach the pedals. This mechanism may need some greasing or other maintenance to improve for future users. Finally, this last comment is not specific to the location itself but more about the U-Haul system as a whole. The location we were given for pickup was nearly an hour and a half away from where we requested (aka where we lived and actually had to move from), which forced us to drive many miles above our allotted "mileage allowed." I understand the availability issues with many people needing vehicles, but if the only truck that is available is that far away, the allotted mileage should be raised accordingly. Since it was not, we were forced to rack up a charge that we could do absolutely nothing about and which would not have existed if we had been able to get a vehicle at a closer location. I was very frustrated about this, as it makes no sense and there was nothing I could have done about it. It felt like I was cheated out of that money at the end.Nathalie U.

The people working were kind and did their best to help me but overall they seemed disinterested in the situation. The did not answer the phones when I called to see if they were opened. When I got there they overcharged me but I think that was Uhaul's fault not theirs.Nicole K.
The use of the terminology "reservation" is extremely misleading and implies that the "reserved" equipment is guaranteed, not that it will be given away to other customers on a "first come first serve" basis and leave customers with reservations having to travel hours to collect their equipment.Ryan B.
Did not know how to rent out. Had to wait on someone to come to the store. Did not speak english well so hard to understand them and they me. 1 hour late getting back charged for 2 days rental. Not acceptable. Probably will not use Uhaul again. I had set up to get one place and then an hour before pickup moved my location. Made me late leaving. Again very unacceptable.Keith B.

I didn't like the fact that the truck that I drove had something about slavery on it. I think that's very racist and I was very offended by this. If I had not been pressed for time I would not have gotten it for the simple fact that I was offended by the slavery advertisement on the side of the truck I believe that it should be removed because it is highly offensiveRebecca B.
