Need someway to get code number when workers are busy. We called and left text message but no answer. Peoples Auto sales no longer take u haul rentals so we had to find a place to leave trailer which took a lot of time.
LOYD MThe address for people’s auto sales in canton ms is not 2485 S Liberty st. That is someone’s home. The return facility is far down the road from there. Hard to find. If you don’t get them on the phone then you’ll never find the place.

Dan OStaff was delightful and helpful. It had just stopped raining when I picked it up. The location was muddy in places, but it was good enough to get hooked up and pulled out without too much difficulty. Almost everything was dry when I returned it. Again, the staff was excellent when I picked up and returned.

Jala TCalled me the day before I was to pick up the truck. When I arrived to pick up the truck, a lady informed me that they had rented the truck out and didn't have anything in the way of a truck the size I needed. She was not at all concerned about it; just stood there looking at me. She called someone and proceeded to tell me I could go get one 70 miles away. I ended up renting a 6x12 trailer which was extremely inconvenient. I had also rented a dozen furniture throws. After I had to return to my house to get my truck, which was 15 miles away, I hooked up the trailer by myself because there were only two women working. One of the women had only been there 3 days. I went in to get the pads where she informed me they only had nine pads. I told her that I would take them and go but she said she didn't know how to charge it out with it being partial. She kept me there while she was on the phone with someone about 15 minutes. She then, while still on the phone, tapped on the remaining pads and told me to go on. When I arrived at my destination and unloaded I phoned the place that I chose to drop off the trailer. They did not have me down for that location. I called the 800 number and the guy I spoke with could not tell me the location that was supposedly on my contract but wasn't. I finally got to a location that accepted it. The place that I had so much trouble with is People's Auto Sales in Canton, MS. I will never use them again if it is the only place I could get what I need. They have no business handling your rentals. Bill Tolbert

SHAVAKA AThe whole experience was very unclear, needs a better manager and whole staff needs to be trained better. Kiera was very pleasant and so was the new girl Blake and another girl who I don’t think works there. But I feel as if training should be incorporated into their business a bit better.

Anderson SI sat at the location for over an hour trying to get my truck. My app wouldn’t allow me to. I messaged U-Haul, I tried to call the location and I finally was able to speak with someone at U-Haul who had to go in and override something that was holding my account from allowing me to proceed in picking up the truck. I know it was after hours, but due to something the location did or didn’t do, it took an incredibly long time just to get it done. There is no reason we should have to sit there that long with no help. More than one employee came outside but no one was able to assist me. Thankfully the lady I spoke with at U-Haul was extremely kind, patient and helpful!!!
Kristen SIt wasn't Canton, but UHaul in general. My confirmed pick up was canceled the night before as there was no equipment. The 2nd pick up location did not have the correct equipment either, I had to travel 35 miles in the opposite direction to get the equipment desired. Got there and they opened twenty minutes later than their stated times, then their Internet was down for another twenty to thirty minutes. Once I got the equipment three hours later and many miles travel, all went well. However, UHaul totally screwed me of time and dollars, not counting stress and frustration. This isn't even near the whole disastrous story, but you get the gist!
Grayson RThis comment is not for the location, but for U-Haul overall. This was my first experience renting and I didn’t understand that there were no refunds when you don’t use all the days. When I saw I had to have the truck turned in by 8:30 (on Friday), I was worried I couldn’t get it all unloaded in time, so I added another day (to be dropped off by 8:30 on Saturday). I turned the truck in on Thursday night but was told I wouldn’t receive the funds back for the other day. Then, I received an additional charge for 3 gallons of gas, after I had stopped next door to the drop off and filled it back up to what looked like the ‘9/16’ that the app said it originally was on. So, in summary, I paid for time I didn’t use the truck and then they also charged me $15 more for gas. I’ll know next time to rent for the bare minimal time, but since you don’t talk to a live person thru this process, it’s hard to know what to do. (I called U-Haul and they told me just to do everything thru the app). The equipment was top notch and in tip top shape.

Chris CMy reservation to pick up the rental was at 8am. The location did not open until 9:00am, however, they did not show up until 9:30am. Me along with parking lot full of people were out waiting for the place to open. They did not apologize or extend our time for the rental. No one was answering the phone. When I called U-Haul to inform them, the ladies were very rude. I do not recommend again.

Felix HComplaint - I sent my father in law to pickup the trailer. My card didn’t work, so I called in to give them the number over the phone. My father in law said they had me on speaker phone and everyone in the room could hear my card number. That’s not very secure

Dennis CWhen I picked up the truck I pointed out the damaged mirror and the girl made note of it BUT when I dropped it off at the New Jersey location the Jerk U-Haul guy wanted me to take it to another location an hour out of my way and when I refused he said he was going to charge me extra!!!! HE DID!! plus a cleaning fee even though I left the truck SPOTLESS!!! UHUALS IN THE NORTHEAST ARE ALL RIPOFFS AND CHEATS!!! I will dispute ALL EXCESS CHARGES, REPORT TO THE BBB AND FILE SUIT!! (I am a regular customer who rents trucks almost monthly, for more than 25 years, and this is the absolute WORST U-HAUL TRAFFIC AND MANAGERS EVER)

Lynda WI dropped the truck off at night and it was EXTREMELY dark. Not well lit at all. Luckily, I had someone with me. GPS lead me to this location and checking in on the website to return the truck confirmed it. I could not find the drop box anywhere. I called the 800 number 3 times and each time it was a 20-30 min wait. I don’t live in the area. I live about 30-40 mins away. So I tried to chat. Someone named “Jeremy” joined after about 13 minutes while I was still on this dark lot. He asked me one question and never responded again. I sent two subsequent messages and still no reply. So I left. I wasn’t going to sit on this dark lot all night and couldn’t get any assistance from your representatives. Once I got home, I called and held on those 33 minutes and finally spoke to a person. It took her a minute to find out where the drop box was in her computer but she did. She told me and it was dropped off the next morning. Such an inconvenience because I had to drive 30 more minutes out of my way when I was already there.

CHICARLO TLocation was good. Uhaul as a company needs improvement. My original rental location per uhaul when I made the reservation was a different location for where my rental truck was actually at. Uhaul never notified me of the change. This has happened to me before with uhaul.
Bret SI was initially directed to pick up my reserved Cargo Trailer at a location that is not staffed by a person, therefore I was not able to pick up a cargo trailer at that location due to the requirement of a live safety inspection after trailer hook up. Once I was redirected to People’s Auto in Canton, everything went very smoothly and the equipment was in excellent working condition. Easy pickup and easy return at People’s Auto.
