I dropped the equipment off about twelve hours earlier than the given check in time, but the location didn't systematically check it in until two days AFTER the expected check in date. I began calling U-Haul the day after it was due back, and they reached out to the return location. The return location gave an excuse and advised it would be taken care of right away. HOWEVER, the very next day, I received an email from U-Haul stating the equipment was still not checked in. I called the drop off location and the guy talked over me as I was trying to find out what was going on. Therefore I called U-Haul again and they were FINALLY able to get the drop off location to check the equipment back in. This is unacceptable! Nobody should have to go through with that much hassle just to get equipment checked in, and it's really not professional to make customers have to worry about whether they're going to be charged extra because of a provider that apparently can't handle the business!
