Person that checked us in , was very rude and short with us. Didn’t really shows any interest with us in showing us the truck. Didn’t give us the keys or tell us where to find them , we had a ride share vehicle that he knew nothing about. We had to go to another location to pick it up. Drop off was a 3 hour process and 40 extra travel again in Wisconsin. Not happy. Truck windows were were very dirty inside and out. Truck shouldn’t have been on the road, left rear inner wheel wobble while driving and I drove the truck with front end alignment being way off had to hold steering wheel at 11 o’clock and hold it for the whole ride at that position miserable ride.
DAVE KI don’t know if it’s the locations fault, but for some reason I am getting charged an extra $80. Haven’t heard back as to why. Looks like the equipment and rental charge doubled, I understand I drove an extra 25 miles, so I can get $25. But I returned the truck the same day…

SHERYL HU-Haul in Smithville is wrong address and needs to be changed to Porters Ace Hardware near Burger King about two mile south of shown address.

Kevin CDid not have everything for the reservation (dolly, furniture pads, etc). Had to go to another location quite aways away. Check engine light on in the truck for the whole move. HORRIBLE customer service when they realized the mistake that was made. Will NEVER use this location again and will be sure others are aware of the issues. Made me late to meet the movers!!
Marie CA/C didn’t work in truck and the arm tests were broken off. Truck wasn’t ready when I got there to pickup. Tried troubleshooting A/C with some tips from customer service, did not help. I would not recommend renting from smithville, mo. Just drive to an actual U-Haul rental place.
Stephanie WThe truck was not available as scheduled. We had to adjust our pickup by 4 hours. This caused issues with scheduled movers. The movers ended up working until 9pm in order to get the load done.

Jeff BAfter trying to hook up and checking the lights, I needed to change a fuse for the lights at the trailer supply store next door. I told them I would take care of it and be right back for my week-long rental. When I returned 15 minutes later and said I was ready to load up they informed me that they had canceled my reservation, despite me explicitly stating that I still wanted the rental and would be back as soon as possible. Nothing was said to me about canceling the reservation either in person or via call or text. The rental had been paid for as a gift to make the hard task of dealing with my late father's belongings suck a little less. They were unable to put the reservation back on the original card and since it was not mine I didn't have access to it and ended up paying for the rental myself. They still have not refunded the original reservation fee on the other person's card after also charging me. I left a review on Google which also mentioned the long wait while five other employees stood around the first visit, suggesting they crosstrain. They then pointed out how quick they were to gleefully tell me, "Oh, you don't have a reservation because we canceled it," when I returned. I would rather drive to a different city to rent a Uhaul than deal with Ace again. When the staff at Pack's heard what I was up to after asking what I needed to secure and for how far in my quest for straps, they offered a hug and their condolences. The staff at Ace offered nothing but surly attitudes and additional headaches on an already hard day.

Mark MLubricate the ratcheting devices . Not workable with a car over the top of them. Should not have to fight them to get them to work properly. Very common problem!
Mark MInside of truck was filthy. Spilled pop in cup holders that was dried up and sticky. White spots everywhere on dash like window was left down during rain. We are supposed to make sure truck is clean,so I should get a clean truck to use.
