I rented truck online, called and talked to customer service and was told i was good to go. Had to go online 1 more time and do everything all over again. Even after i got email saying i was all set. The smartphone check out and return were not convenient or intuitive. I tried the smartphone app to check out the van and it would not accept alternative contact information; kept saying that the name / phone number being submitted was the same as the contract (which it was not). When returning the vehicle, it was unclear that the return was accepted. The app said "Thank you" so I assumed that it was complete and turned in the key. Perhaps a better message would be "Your return in complete, thank you." Make it more obvious when the process is final. Also, fix the alternative contact issue in your app. I got the local agent to finalize the process for me.Paul S.
There is a total disconnect between this market and their job with Uhaul. Online check in and check out is a dysfunctional nightmare. I couldn't get ahold of Uhaul through their main number. I also am sure we were overcharged and STILL cannot get ahold of uhaul. I am contacting the BBB next.Gregory E.

I tried multiple times to log the truck back that. Same night and was not able to do so. I have not had the time to review my account so I don't know if I was charged an additional twenty dollars. I returned my rental to Porters Fuel in McMinnville, OR as requested by Uhaul for a reduction in the rental price. When I arrived the cashier at the gas station refused to allow me to check-in through her. She said that I would have check-in on-line or go return the moving back to where I got it. I showed her the paperwork that indicated that I had to return it to that particular location. I fumbled through the contract looking for some indication on how to return it on-line but found nothing. The cashier finally went and talked to her manager who told her to take my keys and allow me to go on my way. Nobody checked the van with me. I found them unprofessional. I received my bill by email the next morning.David C.

We finished our move one day early so I returned our truck to the location selected. I returned it in person and the person that handles the UHual transactions had left already. The hours listed on the site showed I could return it in person at the time I arrived. The cashier said the person had gone home already and that person would check it in tomorrow but I would be charged for returning it early. As I work the following day I had to return it that day. It was upsetting that I couldn't return it early and get it checked. A customer behind me said I could do it on line myself on my phone. I attempted to do it on my phone and after watching the UHaul videos on how to do it on my phone I was able to complete the checking in process on my own. I was still charged an extra fee the next day as the odometer apparently said I went over miles which I strongly disagree with.Scott M.

The location was not clear and the UHaul key boxes did not have the key so we had to find someone in the station to provide us the key when we specifically asked for it to be only through mobile app. The app is not user friendly and the live chat was not helpful. I was 30 mins into my rental time before I had the keys in my hand. I also arrived at the location 15 mins early to avoid this kind of issue.Leina P.

this site needs more than two employees working at anytime. they where overwhelmed by the demands of the gas station to be able to provide good services for uhaul. like making sure the equipment was clean, or having the equipment ready to go.Gary M.

Location had technical difficulties with the system on both pickup and return. Listed as clean and undamaged when I picked up, my pictures showed otherwise. When I returned truck early, they couldn't return in system and charged me an after hours fee. I contacted website, and Lance Blades provided quick resolution of the extra fee, I appreciate the good customer service online. The location people were nice enough, just unable to access the system, and the truck was dirty. ThanksLorenzo F.
I rented the truck at noon. I brought it back at 5pm. I was charged a 20.00 service fee because it was after 3pm. I was not told at the time of rental of any service fee if it was not back by 3pm. I will tell people not to go to this location and I will not rent again from a (sattlelight) uhaul location. Bad business practicesCandace B.
The young adults running this location were not suited for the job... very poor training or no training at all... I will never be returning to this location again, I could be out of gas and I would walk past this gas station to the next one! It's not a complaint, but the guy who rented it and returned it an hour before me left the truck dirty, like he had been driving through mud puddles and got dirt on the floor boards. The windshield was caked in splattered bugs. The reason it's not a complaint is because I knew it had just been returned and didn't have time to go through a cleanup, and it made it easier for me to return because I didn't have to wash it down. I did however wash the bugs off so that I could see through the windshield. Again this was not a complaint, but rather I was grateful that it made it easier to pick it up and return it, since it was a spur of the moment rental. I literally made the reservation 20 min before I picked it up. I was very thankful that the rental was so close to my home, 3 miles.Eric T.

Your fuel program is most unsatisfactory. I was given a truck with 1/4 tank of gas. It was unclear how much I would be charged if I brought it back with less fuel. I returned the truck with 5/8 tank, but was not compensated for the difference.. It should be pick it up full, and return it full.. Most unsatisfactory indeed.Dave G.
Staff first was not sure of our arrival. When I asked to see if there was a paper receipt for my records, the young woman working inside the store was not sure if it was possible. Then I remembered that we are in Oregon and everyone works a little slower here.Allen R.
I assist people in moving. I have in the past relied upon UHaul for convenience. Almost every time I use UHaul or my customers use UHaul we have nothing but issues. From availability, location pick up to billing. This time through when UHaul double billed me for less than 9 hours of use I am officially cured and will never use UHaul again. In the past UHaul has attempted to send me 50 miles for a truck and have had me drop 30 miles from the city destination I was to arrive at. And charges me for those miles. Ask a question? Want info? Every answer begins with, "Well, we're only an agent . ." Mention the word U-Haul to the 2 bimbos at the counter and their faces turn to shear terror. Even the manager is incompetent. Why be a U-Haul agent if you hate and fear it so much?? Absolutely clueless! Very poor representatives of U-Haul at this location. Believe me, this review is the tamed-down version! The ONLY friendly person was the one who got passed off to check in the truck.Frank D.

Attendants work at a gas station and only one was familiar with the process regarding rentals, she had to call uhaul to ask a question and the wait time was incredibly long. The location where we picked up the truck did not say ARS anywhere and we were waiting outside and no one showed up so we clicked the address on the mobile app and it took us to a different town (Lafayette) so then we ended up going to the first location which was a gas station but no one told us when we reserved the truck that the gas station is partnered up with uhaul. The office where I checked out the keys and signed paperwork doubled as storage for cases of canned beverages. It is a tiny space, no bigger than 10ft by 10ft. There is no counter or space where a customer can comfortably stand to read and sign the paperwork. Although a space heater was going, the door to the gas station parking lot was wide open for the whole transaction...awkward, cold, and smelled of car exhaust. I signed the forms on top of a case of soda. Given the circumstances, I did not take the time to read the paperwork thoroughly as I should have done. If I had, perhaps I might have seen that the price I was being charged was different than the price I was quoted on the phone and that there were additional fees tacked on that were never mentioned. When I returned guy the truck, I didn't want to hang out in the soda closet waiting to get my receipt so I agreed when the representative said she would email it. I was surprised and irritated to find out how much I was charged only once I received the emailed receipt when I got home. I had thought I was getting a truck for $29.99 plus mileage. There were a couple of unexpected fees tacked on, just a few dollars, plus $19 for 4 gallons of gas. I drove less than 10 miles and had the truck for less than 2 hours. How does that equal 4 gallons of gas? I'm usually a pretty easy going and easy to satisfy customer, but I am feeling swindled right now. On the plus side, the staff person who helped me was friendly, quick, and professional, especially given the awkward "office" in which she was trying to do her job.Janet A.
The act of moving one's belongings from one location to another is stressful enough. Dropping the vehicle off should NOT be. When I chose the dropoff location, I had no idea that it was unmanned. The instructions posted on the fence are for customers who know it is unmanned and have completed the process online before dropping off the vehicle. I was not prepared to access the internet when I got there, and every customer service representative I talked to (four) were sympathetic and tried to help, but could not. Nowhere did the signage say I could take the keys into the business located near the drop-off location, nor did any of the service representatives that I talked to. Stating whether a location is manned or not and giving written instructions of the dropoff procedure with the rental agreement would have made this moving experience one to brag about. My truck wasn't ready had to wait another day plus was charged additional 117.00 cause of your screw up. Have made multiple calls with no resoultion. Will never use them again nor will I tell anyone to use them. Great in the past but this experience made my exciting move horrible.Kristina A.
I will NEVER reccomend UHaul to anyone. Your entire operation is bait and switch! Disgusting! Rent a SMALL truck IN TOWN for 2 days and it ended up nearly $110?!? That is RIDICULOUS. more instruction needs to be given to customers -- I arrived to return the truck, and was told that I was supposed to have checked in the truck online. I had no idea of this, as I initiated the rental at another uhaul franchise, over the counter with a live person. the employees at the gas station said this was a pretty regular occurance, and that no one seemed to know what was going on. they did their best to be pleasant and accommodating, but the deck is stacked against them if no one knows how things are supposed to work. also, the truck cab was not cleaned before I picked up the truck, and no one did a damage walk-around with me either before or after my using the truck.JERRY H.
