I was told by the u haul at rogers in Hale it would be 40 cents a mile over and I was charged $1.00 over! I also had a 20 foot truck reserved and was told I could pick it up by 4 on Saturday oct 1st and went there at noon and no one was there! We had to call all over and ended up having to rent a 26 foot from rose city mi. Because that was all they had! Not very happy with the situation it put us in!crystel M.

I booked truck 3 weeks ahead of time at Rosatis in Prescott,MI 4 days before pu day I talked with the Uhaul people to make sure my 26 foot was available. Catrina said no problem if its not ready at 800AM sat 6-4 have them call her at home and she will come in. The next day I check in again. NO truck available, have to drive 25 miles north one way to get truck. BUT you promised I said. She knew their was not going to be a truck and lied to my face. I complained to her boss (who was the person I booked it with 3 weeks ago) and he said sorry we have no control of what Uhaul does. I said you are represening them you should care. I went to Rose City Friday afternoon to sign for truck becasue I was afraid they would give it to some one else. Your system is very loose goosee. I think a gift card so i can purchase some gas would be a small token of the hard ships you put this old man thru. TYjan B.

I really appreciate their ability to take 24/7 drop offs, especially over the weekend. My comments that follow DO NOT relate to this site but to U-haul's process & policies overall. Be very careful when you rent online. I had to orchestrate a fairly complex out-of-town move and reserved a trailer online and hired movers. I saved a confirmation screen and email from Uhaul that said "reserved". The day before the move, I called the pick-up site directly to double check the details, and they informed me that they did not have any trailers. The site was unable to assist further. I had already paid the movers, which is typically required within 24 hours of any move. I also was scheduled to travel 4 1/2 hours to make the move. I called Uhaul's main number and the wait time was over an hour to speak with anyone. I did ultimately make contact but the employee stated it was Uhaul Policy "not to guarantee rental equipment until ~24 hours before the pick-up time." They offered me another trailer pick up location that would have involved 2 extra hours of driving time. Luckily, I was able to find another pick-up location, but needless to say, this was very stressful. Uhaul's policy to NOT confirm the reservation until 24 hours before the pick-up should be made crystal clear to the customer and words like "reserved" should not be used in subsequent communications since this may not be the case.Suzanne W.

I made a reservation for a trailer days in advance to be picked up in Standish Michigan...When I got there, there was No trailer and it did not even show my reservation on their computer...I made very clear to the person that I spoke to on the phone about needing that trailer for that day and I was assured that it would be there...I need up calling all these other places out of town to find one in Rose city...So I had to backtrack to pick up the trailer with lots of extra miles and stress...There is No Excuse for this... It's obvious that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing, and it's all Covids fault..I say BS...tim S.

Although I ended up renting from here,, my original reservation was confirmed for Hale and online reservation system advised there was a vehicle available on the dates selected. After I reserved, I got a call saying there was no vehicle at Hale. So I reluctantly agreed to open up what cities nearby I would accept and Rose City became the choice. It cost me miles vs. Hale and felt like a little bait and switch going on. Online inventory needs to be accurate and when a site says there is a vehicle there, then they need to honor what they advertised. We rented the 20ft had it a couple hours only drove it 3 miles total , found out I tested positive for covid and couldn't do the move, said they would refund me and only gave me back 84.00 out of 135.00 ! Wasn't anything I could do about it I couldn't move because I'm under quarantineKATHY MARIE B.

Overall I had a horrible experience with Uhaul. The equipment didn't work. Uhaul cancelled my order the day of. No one can figure out why. I had to do a rental the day of my move and Uhaul charged me more than my original reservation. The trailer was broken and wouldn't come off my hitch. No one could tell me how to get it off. The videos Uhaul sent me showed different equipment than what I had from Uhaul. I wasted 2 hours there dropping off. I lost an hour at the pick up place sorting out my reservation issues. When dropping off my sister had to drive 45 min to the drop off location. We ended up using a car jack to lift the trailer off the hitch. Just ridiculous. The only helpful person was the last rep at Uhaul that I spoke to, Corey. She tried to be helpful but Uhaul doesn't give its rep enough training/info to actually help customers. I will avoid renting from Uhaul in the future. I want AT LEAST the extra $100 I paid on 6/13 for the trailer reservation screw up. What a joke of a company. When I called to inquire about A specific size of a trailer the salesman lead me to believe he had that exact size at this location. I then reserved the trailer and he told me a â€œschedulerâ€ would get a hold of me within the hour. Then after the corporate uhaul scheduler called me back - they informed me that there was in fact NOT a trailer the size I requested at the original location. The whole point for me choosing that location was so my driver could pick it up close to there location. I will not be using uhaul again, and instead will work with their competitor.Matthew D.
