I was very disappointed in the way this transaction was handled. I received an email 12hrs before my schedule pick--up saying my pick-up location had been changed to a location that required driving an additional 80 miles. Customer service could not explain the reason for the change. But was able to find one a bit closer, 60 miles. I had made all the necessary plans to transport a vehicle on this day, so I had no other choice but to continue with the new pick-up location. After I took delivery of the trailer, at the new location, I still had to drive back past the original pick-up location only to find that they did in fact have not just one, but two of the same trailer I was renting. The damage was done at this point. The extra hour and half it took to go to the new location and gas necessary to get there had already been wasted. I reserved this truck in Lexington and I was sent to Glasgow even though there were trucks in Lexington to rent. I was denied rental of these trucks, promised by Richmond dispatch I would be given 30 free miles for forcing me to go to Glasgow and this was never credited. Richmond dispatch and supervisors were rude, could not answer questions, would not provide me details and overall, this was one of the worst rental experiences I have ever had. R&S Storage in Glasgow took over 1.5 hours to rent the truck to me and never provided a copy of the contract.Elizabeth K.
I made reservations for a 15 ' truck one month in advance at u-haul Neighborhood Dealer in Staunton VA. I checked in at this location one week before my reservation in person. I was assured that everything was fine for me to pick up this truck the following week. In the afternoon, the day beforeI was to pick up this truck, I received a phone call from your regional office telling me I was going to to get a 20 ' truck and that I had to drive 50 miles away to get it at R&S Storage in Glasgow VA. The gentleman at R&S storage was kind enough to give me credit for insurance that my company does not provide for a 20' truck. I was also given credit for a 100 miles extra, but I had to pay someone $50 to drive my car back to Staunton. Because of U-Haul's poor customer service, I was forced to to pay for two men 4 man hours additional , ($100.00), while they waited for me to return with the truck so they could load it. Additionally, I arrived at my destination late at night very stressed out driving a large truck I didn't need. Finally, it is obvious to me that you can't trust U-Haul. I will never use this company again and I will relate my experience to anyone who is considering using your company.Joesph G.
I'm at a mixed emotion about Uhaul right now. They didn't have the truck I wanted in my area so they made substitutions, however when I didn't need the trailer and had to drop it off, they had to return both the truck and trailer then re- rent the truck. They charged me twice and I'm still waiting on the refund. Overall the move went great the associates were wonderful and very helpful.Tammy N.

Make sure your equipment works and in proper working order before renting your truck .. it's very dangerous when the roll up door drops on your shoulder and than hits you in the head and I broke two of my teeth and chip 2 .. from the impact .. The roll up door would fall on its own or roll back into the truck whenever ... your items would slide out of the truck when going up hills. I placed my living room down on the floor of the truck .. my carpet was ruined by the wetness and mud from loading and unloading items from the truck.. So we make our truck loads small in fear of our items falling out of the truck on the hoods of cars following ...as we drove slow .. trying not to Lose our mothers items on the road behind us.. we were unable to complete the move as we could not fill up the truck property .. so my sister and I will attempt this on another weekend .. However, when picking up the white u-haul..my driver was told how to lower and rise the rollup door as it was broken and the wires are wrapped or tangled .. except our driver never showed up the next day to drive the u-haul and help load .. only leaving my sister and I to drive and load.. so we had a very hard 2 days of wondering how many items we lost.. due to the roll up door that would not shut .. lacking anywere from 4 to 8 feet left open.. on a few trips we wrote down items we loaded to make sure when we arrived to the storage area we would have everything we loaded..Linda R.

Store person was not at location when I arrived, waited 20 minutes, I had to go into the office to fill out paperwork that I had completed on-line, the trailer lights were not working properly, the air pressures in the tires were not correct so I took care of that at a gas station in Lexington Va.John C.

The U haul office is in the grocery store across the road. Some additional signage directing you to the hidden location in the back would be helpful. The individuals were very friendly and helpful when I found them.Wayne M.

Plenty of space for drop off. Office was located inside of grocery store but was accessible and clean. Staff was professional and helpful. Did rent another truck at this site that was poorly maintained with several items that did not work. Owner of this facility stated the truck was a "for sale" truck and that U-Haul did not want to maintain vehicles that were slated for sale and used local round trip only. Poor way for U-Haul to do business!Steve Y.
the two locations listed here were helpful. I was not pleased with having to go to Glasgow, Va. I was in training and did not have access to a computer so I was no aware that I wasn't getting truck from the U-Haul on Timberlake in Lynchburg, VA......which was literally right around the corner. It was a MAJOR inconvenience to have to find and drive on Friday night after exhausting training all week. Nothing was done at all at Timberlake to accommodate me. I had to drive to Glasgow up windy curvy mountain roads to get truck and trailer. The employee there was very helpful and polite, but I am not at all pleased with Timberlake!!!!!!! I was told that even though I made a reservation for that location, they "didn't have enough equipment in Lynchburg" and that they sent me to Glasgow instead. I was not cool with that but had no other option as I needed to move my son to Nashville ASAP. Not happy with my neighborhood U-Haul even though ?I used them not 6 months ago,Eugene B.

I Spent more than 4 hours tring to staert the smaller vehicle...it would run for about 100 miles and start sputtering and the engine would die...I would then have to wait to get it started againg...I think I should get a great deal of my money back because of the mechanical inconvirnces !KEVIN D K.

Left rear tire was low on air which didn't show until truck was loaded. Also tire lost air during move. Also the gas was short. We topped off the tank after about 50 Miles and the truck took 12 gallons of gas.David B.

I felt cheated at this location. I did not receive a pre-pick up vehicle inspection. I felt the paperwork gas reading did not reflect what was actually in truck and I was made to pay for more gas at the station. The gas station shares the same owner / manager and building as the uhaul store. I felt cheated and as if I was somewhat bamboozled; almost as if the manager is using the uhaul store to increase his gas sales.jhonathen C.
