First, I love U-Haul. Have used in most my moves. Both locations were great. A problem did arise though. I was contact by U-Haul that the location nearest to me for drop off was full, so was asked to drop off at a much further location near Tucson mall. They said I could have an extra day, and they would add the extra mileage needed, so I agreed to do it. I didn’t really need the extra day, but made use of it. On return day I headed to the Tucson mall return site. When close, my son pointed out that I had messages and a voicemail from U-Haul that the drop off had changed. In the voicemail, there was even a threat that I’d be charged a fee if I did not take the U-Haul to the new location (I have the voicemail transcript) so we, not wanting to incur fees, ate lunch, then headed to the new location. When I get to the new location, the guy (very nice) checking the truck in lets me know that no one added miles to my contract. He let me know there was nothing he could do. So I paid the fees on top of the extra gas it took to get the truck back, and extra gas for the vehicle used to follow me for pick up. These fees, though not huge were a bit of a strain on top of everything else incurred on top of the move. My experience at both locations was great, but if told that you would not incur fees for helping U-Haul out, that should be kept. Thank you
