I dropped off my vehicle in the middle of the day, but there was no one there and the building looked like it was abandoned. I knocked on the various doors, but no one answered.

Matthew DMy reservation was shifted from the original pick up location (in Nyack, NY - which is open on a Sunday) to this location. This location is closed on Sunday so I had to do everything over the phone, etc. Really inconvenient. When I got to the location it was not clear where to go or what to do. I'm really very unhappy with U Haul now. I used the website to reserve a 15' to pick up on a Sunday, and the website indicated the pick-up location had the necessary equipment. On Saturday morning, they emailed to say the equipment wasn't available and I had to go to another location more than 10 miles away (in the wrong direction) which included additional gas, tolls for two vehicles, etc. When I called U Haul the woman on the phone was incredibly "snippy" and basically hung up on me. She said I would get a discount but I never saw that reflected on the bill.

ROGER RThe man who helped us was very nice and knew exactly what we needed to connect the trailer to our tow hitch. He made all the connections and made sure the tail lights worked correctly before we drove off.

TYLERE AIt’s fine. The process for acquiring the vehicle takes a much longer time than anticipated so I would add language that says make sure you include up to 30 minutes to onboard vehicle through the app as I had no idea about the manage assurance contact, which was a big surprise. My dolly was also not loaded into the truck, but I found it in the front.

Denis OEasy transaction, Sam was great, very efficient, and accommodating. He made our day. We had a reservation at Home Depot which they were not able to fulfill, we (husband and I) were frustrated and overwhelmed. We really needed a truck at the moment. We passed by the U-Haul location in Hawthorne and stopped to inquire about availability, that is when Sam came through and we were able to drive out in a van. Sam saved the day.

Stephen FThis location needs to be manned. We had a terrible experience. First, we could not complete the check out using an Android phone, only an iPhone. That needs to be addressed. There was also very poor cellular service which impeded our ability to do the check out. And the vehicles are not properly inspected. The truck we rented was infested with carpenter ants. It took 90 minutes to exhume. We were fortunate to find someone in the office building on a Saturday who helped us with check out but honestly, i would NEVER go back and am unhappy with the whole U-Haul experience.
Anne_Bernard GI did not know when I booked that I was going to a location with no staff. In the parking lot I only got one band of cell service so I could not download the app. The self check out took too long.
Tracy BIt was supposed to be a staff location and it wasn't. Just a derelict house on a busy road with lock boxes. I spent 45 minutes on the phone to get access to the truck. Same for the return process. Very dissatisfied.
