To Whome It My Concern... I Amandah Harrell, am extremely up set with my U Haul experience!! I was in a bad car accident 300 miles from home and ended up needing to rent one of your Tow Dollys. First I had to drive out to the middle of nowhere to find this tow dolly, and the guy told me I would have to pay an extra $100.00 deposit, but I would receive it back as soon as I dropped the tow dolly off. I agreed and he then charged me the $100.00 extra on my card. I was told after the fact that the whole reason the deposit was even needed, was because of the type of card I had. He said my card required it for transaction to go through. I've never heard of "some cards require a deposit and some cards don't", but I said let's do it and was charged. I had no choice as this was the only form of payment I had on my person at the time. So after I paid we hooked up the tow dolly, went and got my vehicle, and we drove home. My car was dropped off that night and the very next morning we took the tow dolly back to another U Hall location, one closer to home.(The tow dolly was in my possession for less than 24 hours). And at this visit things weren't very nice either. The man at the new place proceeded to tell me even though I was charged $100.00 deposit, I would only get back a $50.00 deposit from his store. He said "different stores do different deposits." Again another lie, or another thing I have never heard of! He said in order for me to get the full $100.00 deposit I would have to take and return the tow dolly to the place where I originally picked it up. I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS! And the place we picked up the tow dolly was 300 miles away so going back was not an option with a totaled vehicle. The man then walked away he had something to do I guess. He refused to come back and talk to me, sent someone to tell me he was to busy working and they would answer any questions I had. The new person then told me the refund for the deposit would be on my card in 7-10 days and there was nothing that could be done it was going to be $50.00 not $100.00!! So needless to say I was lied to multiple times by multiple employees and nobody would answer my questions about my card, the deposit, the refund, ect. I am not very happy about it at all!! The way I was treated by the employees of these businesses was ridiculous and nobody should have to be treated that way. I would like my deposit back! All of this happened a month ago! I was told my deposit refund would be on my card in 7-10 business days and it has been a month and still no money at all! I would like to receive the "FULL AMOUNT" of $100.00 (NOT $50.00)! Considering what I went through with the employees of these businesses I think I deserve it! Please and thank you! Sincerely, Amandah Harrell
