The trailer was parked with the hitch in a depression making it difficult to hook up. In addition, the trailer hitch did not have a jack and I was not able to hold it up and back up to hook up. If I had not brought along a ratchet strap that I used to lift the trailer, I would never have been able to hook up my pickup to it. I had to hook the ratchet strap to the front of my pickup box and go over the tail gate and down to the pole of the trailer to lift it up high enough to be able to hook up. Your trailers need to have hitch jacks or the store personal need to help hook up. Most people would not be able to lift that trailer hitch high enough to hook it up. Even if they could, they likely would injure their back. U-Haul need to correct this!David S.

We had nothing but problems. Our location to pick up got changed last minute. Went in the morning at 6am and wasn't able to pick up at location. Had to drive a half mile down the road to locate truck. Then once In the truck took a half hour to get truck out of snow cuz it was stuck in a rut.James C.

Attaching the trailer was not easy at all, frustrating. I wasn't aware the floor of the trailer was missing sealant. My belonging in the rear of the trailer got wet. I was discounted for the inconvenience for this issue.Janice C.

Personally I would have thought the trailers would have the snow removed off the top of a trailer if needed. It is dangerous to have snow or ice on the top which is illegal in MN. Also,the lights,should be cleaned when rented. Another problem that is a concern, not to me but others who do not have experience hooking up a trailer, is no assistance with the hookup, IE. Cross chains and other safety measures. The Rental place should ask if the renter has experienc with hauling a trailer and if not they need to assist so everything done is in a safe manner. I had to sweep the trailer out. It had a lot of dirt chunks in it and a 3 foot long 4x4 piece of wood in it. Previous customer did not clean it out. Otherwise trailer worked good.Peter B.

The locations for pick up and drop off were perfectly fine experiences. However, working with UHaul itself was a frustrating experience. We were notified less than 48 hours before our scheduled Truck pick up that they did not, in fact, have the 26' truck we rented. Nor did they have any 26' or even 20' trucks to rent within 60 miles. We were put in a position of needing to travel about 80 miles each way on short notice. When a house move is stressful enough as it is and every free minute is spent packing, this added 3 hours to the day before we closed on the new house. We had to pay for urgent childcare to allow 2 adults to make this drive (in order to have one of us drive our vehicle back home while the other was in the UHaul).Andrea H.
Sue was AMAZING! A computer problem showed up and she drove to the location to assist us. We needed help attaching the auto transport and she went out of her way tho assist. All the staff were friendly and helpful.. Will recommend.David B.
I reserved a 26' truck in Spirit Lake, Iowa. The day before the rental pickup I was told that the only available option was a 15' truck with a trailer. And it was 100 miles from me. At the pickup, there was no one there to help hook the trailer up, and then the trailer did not have working brake lights or turn signals.Wendell D.

Positive experience. Due to weather I had to change the date 2 times ------ no problem. New truck drove like a dream. Easy to load and lots of room. Many options and truck sizes available. Web site helpful but liked working with the vendor who was personable and helpful. Reasonable rate and a very efficient check out / check in system. Moving is stressful but your company certainly made it a cost effective and convenient way to move. Thank you !Sharon S.
I reserved the trailer 24 hours before I was going to pick it up. When I went to pick up the trailer the trailer was in at least 8 inches of water with mud below the water. I asked the lady helping me what's the best way to get to the trailer. Her response was â€œI guess walking through the water would be the easiestâ€, then chuckled to herself. Terrible answer! This trailer should have been pulled out of the water prior to me showing up to get my rental. On top of having to walk through water with my shoes one above my ankles, she didn't show me anything about hooking up. Do they expect everyone knows how to hook up every single style of trailer? Terrible service at a small town rental shop.Brett W.

Called the drop off place in redwood falls 90 min before they were to close.(noon) said I was on my way but it was going to be close. Asked if it was an issue if i was late, he said no, gave me instructions to unhook the trailer and leave paperwork in drop box. Arrived at 1150, 10min before close, place was locked up tight. Called the number again, no answer. Chose to run to Walmart to buy tools to unhook the chains instead of calling the 1800 no. And waiting until God knows when.Tom K.

Was helping a person get away from an abusive situation, her brother returned the truck for me, truck was returned more than a day early with 1/2 tank more fuel than needed so about $50-60 dollars extra with that said it was found necessary to charge me for the 12miles we went over the allotted, was to have been allowed more miles because of where I had to pick it up, this and road blockage due to construction led to the extra miles, so kind of chicken shit to charge me the extra $5 when I gave you $50 plus in fuel.philip W.

Check the inside of truck. It had animal ( maybe livestock) in the back that made a mess. We had to wash it out. The trucks trans. had a hard time shifting gears. But we made it.sharon T.

Have the truck that the person ordered and have computers working. Melissa was very friendly, felt bad for her, she is new and nothing was going right for her. It took over an hour to check out..computer would freeze and not save info.Amy A.

I wanted to after hour pick up and was unable. had to come back the morning and had issues with the computer getting the truck not the location fault when the called traffic it still wasn't resolved and she did a hand contract to get me out the door after being their for almost an hour. Uhaul screwed up our reservation they gave someone else our size truck and then last minute said the only way we could get what we ordered would be to drive over two hours there and back. Off course we didn't have time to do that we are moving - dah Uhaul that's why we rented the truck where we did. Luckily the place we picked it up gave us a trailer at no charge. We scheduled to pick-up at early as 8:00am the day before, and they assured us, someone would be there. The office was closed when we arrive around 8:20 and was closed until the clerk returned, she had to close the office to take her grandchild's homework to her school. But the were very considerate when we were able to return the trailer a day early.cindi T.
