The first car had a lit engine light. The second car had something odd going on with the starter. It was hard to start the truck. Once I got it started it was fine.

CARLOS BQuick Summary: Loaned me a truck with a broken engine, almost no gas, and none of the utilities I requested. Detailed Explanation: I reserved a 15' truck a week in advance of my move date from MD to MA at a different location (8501 Snouffer School Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20879) but the day before my move I received a phone call telling me the location had changed to this one (1 Metropolitan Grove Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878). I also reserved two appliance dollys, a furniture dolly, and a pack of furniture pads because I hired movers to assist with the move and they highly recommended these items for an efficient move. When I went to pick up the truck at 1 Metropolitan Grove Rd, none of the appliances were there. The cashier told me I needed to go to another U-Haul location, like the one I originally made the reservation at, to get the utilities I had requested. When I went to the truck, there was a check engine light on and the gas tank was almost empty. Conclusion: This was grossly negligent of U-Haul to loan out a truck with a faulty engine, especially knowing the long distance the truck would have travel (approx 450 mi). U-Haul would have been legally liable should this engine have failed and/or resulted in an accident due to the loaning out of a malfunctioning truck and failed safety checks/quality control.
OWEN BHave both the truck and equipment rental readily available in one location, if possible and not have to go to two different pick up locations for this service. We also had an issue with the truck fuel gage giving inaccurate refuel readings when refueling. The fuel tank had more fuel than what we started per the contract agreement due to gage reading error. The U-haul truck distributer manager, Sal, was very professional and proactive in addressing this problem. After reviewing the evidence, he adjusted the final bill in the end. Outstanding customer service from him! I would rent again from his location!

Lorenzo MMy truck’s affixed lock was cut, leaving me without a lock for the back unless I brought my own. The dolly I was given was bent in such a weird way that made it very awkward to use. The truck’s check engine light was on from the start and the truck ran rough compared to other moving trucks I’ve used from U-Haul. Now a random separate charge showed up on my bank account without any explanation of the charge from U-Haul, this separate charge doesn’t show on my final receipt. Getting the equipment was a quick process, but the actual equipment I was given was missing some quality control it seems
