Shafter transmission is definitely the easiest, quickest and most efficient U-Haul rental location I’ve ever used. I’ll be using this location again in the next few weeks.

Trash in the cabin of the U-Haul.
DUSTIN FMake sure that you have up to date work/holiday hours for this location. I showed up to drop off the equipment and this place was closed all week for the holidays.

David CThey literally had two trucks, and this was a side gig for the business. The person who helped at the counter was matter-of-fact that they carried no blankets (which was part of the reservation), boxes or tape. He was not helpful in how one might acquire those things.

Cynthia MI was charged for an additional $90. I kept the pick up an extra day and called well in advance that I needed to add a day. The fees for the truck was $29 a day yet I was charged 90. Would like to get this resolved and find out why the extra charge was so much.

CARMEL WShafter location is supreme. Dealing with the Bakersfield location is hopeless and a deal killer.
LESTER PThe first truck we were given didn't work. The engine wouldn't start. After they got it started, we were told that if there was any problem that we could call a 1-800 number. That wouldn't do if we were stuck on the side of a road needing service. We asked for another truck but it didn't have a ramp for loading like the other truck did. Not too pleased with this experience.

Rosie NThe truck was fine. It was the online process that is terrible. I was waiting for 45 minutes for an approval. I had to call 4 different times to try and pick up truck. After 90 minutes I was finally on my way. It was very frustrating. I called customer service 5 times, at one point I was on hold on two phones. Finally Barbie helped me out. I will not rent again if I have to do it online.

Geovany COutside of the truck was very dirty could not see out of the windshield, used the wipers, they barely cleaned the dirt off. The app to turn the truck in did not work, it said it could not find my location when 5other apps on my phone knew where I was.

TRINIDAD TMaking sure all ordered items on the reservation are readily available. A simple furniture dolly would of made the move so much easier but even though I ordered it and it was confirmed it was not available.I don't blame this site location but u hual as a whole shouldn't confirm equipment that is not available .

STEWART BThis business should not be working for uhaul!! The man who helped me was aggravated that he even had to deal with me while his "real customers" had to wait!! He was rude and took forever to get me a truck. I also rented a trailer and was told by this man I had to hook it up myself!! At no time did he indicate that he was joking!! I was so upset I was in tears!! I took the truck to load it and told him I would be back for the trailer. When I came back he was not there, however the 2 gentlemen who did hook the trailer up, did so without complaint and were very helpful and courteous! The rude man I had to deal with was the owner. He made comments like "I'm gonna quit doing uhaul cause it just takes too much of my time away for my real customers!!!"

JOEL MYes I had excellent care at the shatter u haul couldn't ask for a better place to go if your in surrounding areas please go to shatter, I orginally got a reservation in Wasco I called for a week but never able to get anyone to answer ,,,so I made a reversirvation over the phone and when I got there I was told " I'm not renting trucks today " I said I had reserved it already he said nope ,I said I would call the main office and he said " go ahead I don't care " well by then it was time for shafter to close but I called them and explained and they waited for me to arrive. If that's not a great business I don't know what is !!! My hats off to you !! The BEST customer service I've had in ages Rhonda H

gabriella lThe Pick-up time should be as early as the facility opens, so the customer can maximize the time for loading.
Mohammad HExplain the "M" symbol on the transmission and the "plus" and " minus" buttons on the right hand lever. I eventually figured it out but it would have been better if it had been explained to me first.
David SThe equipment must be cleaned after a customer used it, or at least it has be checked to see how they are receiving it back, I had to use a water hose to clean the inside of the trailer before I load my stuff because it was really dirty. I don't think I would rent another vehicle in this location.
Juan GMy friend returned the dolly to this location, and even though the U-haul was in my name, the $10 discount that they gave me was sent in a check to my son instead of me. Elizabeth JLocation was closed when I arrived so have no experience. But I was charged $3.87 for going over my miles that this location didnt look into on the notes. I had a 25 mile grace so after calling uhaul it should be refunded

Charles SI was suppose to pick up the truck in Bakersfield, CA, but was called two days before and told one would only be available in Shafter, CA. a 22 mile one way trip. not very happy
SYLVIA FNothing to change at this location. How ever there were a few other locations that should model their uhaul services after this one.
