Make sure you verify that the vehicles have no issues when returned or prior to being picked up. My vehicle had a malfunctioning fuel tank. Was unable to get fuel in it, possible air lock. But it was quite the hassle, taking up to 30 minutes to put in 1/2 tank of fuel. I did mention it, when I finally reached my destination at Fermco rentals in Vernon BC. The Store owner was confrontational. I was concerned the store clerk was taking too many pictures of my "Enhanced Drivers License". When I ask why so many pictures she stated that somehow the information entered disappeared and she showed me the cell phone she was using. I was satisfidied with that but the owner told me I was talking to the young lady like she was a slave. I told him he was racist because two of us were native indians. After we successfully completed the rental agreement and got in the truck and started to drive away, the owner sent the girl out to tell me I could not park my car in the parking lot and had to move it or he would have my car towed away. Needless to say, but I'm saying it, I went into the store and asked in an angry voice why when I clearly said to the staff behind the counter that I parked near the end of the building and was it OK and the reply was YES IT IS OK. The manager stated that he did not like the way I questioned the clerck and stated again that I talked to the young lady like she was a slave. He was quick to get angry and make unnessaccery accusations when in fact my concern is that my drivers licence is like a passport to cross the Canadian boarder into the USA and it has very personal information in the scanning codes. I said cancell the rental and we will go somewhere else - he said I will be paying a cancellation fee if I did because the contract agreement was complete. This made me even more angry and I took pictures of him and the staff and then he became raging angry and tried to take my cell phone away. And in his anger said leave the truck. I did not leave the truck as it was getting to late. The truck windsheild washer tank was empty, the cab had garbage and mud on the floor. The box of the rental had a large sheet of used plastic on the floor and was not sweeped. I do not recommend The Shell Gas station for any kind of rental. The staff were great people to deal with but the owner is quick to get angry.Georgia H.

Don't keep customers waiting at pick up and ensure that you quote your customer the correct mileage rate at the time of rental. I was quoted $0.70 per mile but billed $1.27 per mile.STEPHEN R.
Ensure that adequate equipment is available for rentals. This location did not have furniture pads and so told me to go rent then from a different location. The location had just planned not to charge me for the pads with no warning until the morning of my move which would have left me without this vital equipment. That other location they suggested wouldn't rent me the pads for the one way trip because they didn't have enough. I ended up having to call Uhaul, talk to three different people, and drive almost an hour to pick them up myself the day before the move. It was hugely inconvenient, and very stressful. It should not be the customers responsibility to double check location inventory, arrange equipment coordination and pickup especially with no notice. The next morning they gave my partner a truck where the windshield wipers didn't work. Fortunately he checked them before leaving or he would have had a dangerous driving situation with no wipers on the highway in the winter. It just seems like this location doesn't care to check tricks adequately for safety or put in effort to ensure rentals are fulfilled correctly.Ilana P.

Not overcharge me when I forget to put in fuel. I understand I have to pay the 30 dollar refueling but I do not understand the outrageous charge of 30 litres of fuel at 1.99 a litre to drive 30 miles in this truck which is listed at getting 10 miles per gallon. The actual fuel used is less than 10 litres at 1.40 per litre. I was charged for 59.96 to drive a uhaul truck for 16 miles. I will post this outrageous action on the part of uhaul on every public media out I can find as I am beyond disgusted with uhaul.CAROL R.

Manager turned up 13 minutes late for an agreed pickup time. Legalize in contract will be submitted to Consumer. The way I read it (and it's totally unreadable), no matter I paid $60 insurance, I was totally responsible for damage to the vehicle. Very annoying to be given a price then pad it by "fees." Fees added for lots of things. Be upfront or lose custom.Theo B.

First, I had to wait almost 30 minutes as there was only 1 person running the gas station and rentals. Then the internet was slow as the attendant was required to upload all the information to the head office. I also was not informed that I needed a 4 pin plug as I had a 7 pin plug on my truck. The staff in this site are very hostile and un helpful. They have a language barrier and do not communicate easily in English. In addition they treated me in gangster style reaction and were not able to read the online receipt and demanded to pay the collision damage though I paid it online. the staff name is ManpreetHOSSAM E.
Again, we would recommend this location if it was close to where a friend needed a uhaul. We did find the parking lot to drop off the uhaul very small and hard to maneuver. Overall we were happy with everything!Clifford M.
When I tried to rent the trailer I was told it wasn't available, yet it was parked outside, and showed available on-line. I went to the Uhaul location at Nicholson St, the lady was very helpful, she didn't have a trailer to rent, but booked the trailer at the 5th ave location on-line for me. Great service.
