As a long time customer, this whole experience was a waste of money and time. I was booked at my regular place in North Arlington N.J. I had to move my time up but couldn't do it. I called uhaul and they informed me that I had to go to the uhaul at the shell station in lyndhrst. I was 100% against this. Uhaul said there was nothing that can be done. I got there on time and as soon as I got in the van, there was an empty bottle of Johnny walker red. Windows were dirty and the Driver side window was broken and wouldn't go down all the way. The back was dirty and had paint spilt all over the right side back. I had to drop the truck off earlier because I couldn't put my client on the passenger seat due to all the animal hair. I spend thousands yearly with uhal and this made me think about my soon to be new options with regards to rentals in the future.

Frankie HRear view side mirror on passenger side was taped together and couldn’t be moved in order to be usable. Made my right passenger side a huge blind spot on highway and totally dangerous. I also was charged for $15 insurance even though I declined it when making reservation

miguel tThe check-in process was difficult for me as I am older and not savvy with using my cell phone to do this. Thankfully the gas station attendant helped me to manually get the information I needed but there were some language barriers that also required extra effort.

Jeremiah SEveryone went smooth at first but once it came to paying, they were overcharging me for stuff they had never mentioned to me. I also came and hour after my rental service and they decided to charge me for a whole day of use, instead of just charging me for the extra hour of use.
Amarilis DI did everything online and still had to redo everything when I got there. Took information and passed it to someone on the other end of the phone. Returned rental was being charged about $50 more because of wrong mileage. I had pictures of beginning mileage and ending mileage. The attendant said they would call me back after I brought it to his attention but no call back yet.

Rosemary MMy only concern is I was billed three times for the one date, one rental. I called the location and was told I should be credited in the next day or so for two of the amounts. I was billed when I picked up the van, billed at drop off, and billed the next morning.

David DThe person at pick-up was visibly irritated when I told them I’m picking up a pre-reserved UHaul. It took them 30 minutes to get everything ready because the “owner” was handling the UHaul reservation over the phone. The furniture dolly was FILTHY and had screws sticking out - the person at the attached service center cut it out. The blankets were not clean at all and stored in an outdoor shed. The truck was OLD and creaky. The change oil light kept coming on and off. The key got stuck in the ignition. This place is FAR from the quality I have experienced at other U-Haul locations.

Jazmin WHorrible overall experience, though i blame Uhaul more than this location. There were no furniture blankets even though we ordered two dozen. Had to call customer service and drive out of our way to get them. Gas tank was empty,. Truck was not clean. Unattended pickup was a disaster. App did not work . Took us an hour to finally get the pickup completed with several calls to customer service. Truck engine sounded like it was about to give out. Problems with app during drop off. More calls to customer service.. When returning truck there was one extremely tight spot that we had to back into. Was so close to other truck had to squeeze out of truck to get out when parked. Overall an extremely unpleasant experience.

David PI didn’t understand what the guy was saying. I knew it was $19.99. I was never told anything else.. I had no idea that it was going to be that much money for 24 miles . If I knew this ahead of time I would’ve never rented the truck with the gas. It cost me $77. I would’ve put the stuff on the top of my truck before I paid that kind of money. Very disappointed with the price.
richard cEasier check in experience for locations where it is not a traditional Uhaul store. I was late for pick-up and it did not want me to check in to grant me acces to a code that could open the keybox
Jan MCustomer service was terrible. Paid online when I went to the location was rudely told not here you are not here. Called 800 number location moved no notification from U-Haul that it moved. Drove to the other location the owner immediately ran out and informed us to use the app. App did not recognize my phone # or email used during the time I rented. Called 800 number AGAIN to be told late for my pickup Customer service could help transferred me to another person and sat on hold for ten minutes with no one picking up the line. My husband came and saw no one helping me and finally convinced the owner of the gas station to assist us. He was reluctant to do so. So needless to say after that horrible experience I will Not be renting from UHaul again.

Pawel DFirst time renting from U-Haul in a long time. With the new system i.e. taking picture of my license, putting in three contacts, etc. it was a bit overwilling. I couldn't complete it online, but the attending helped me and completed the request. I might add at the time there were several cars at the gas pumps, but he still managed to service all of them and take care of me almost at the same time. He also was very knowledgeable of your system so the process went very smooth.
William LI went to orange nj location and my truck was blocked in by another truck I had to stand and wait in the pouring rain for an hour while I was on the phone with customer service and they sent me 1520 minutes away to another location to get another truck. Meanwhile I was one hour and 30 minutes late I had to move my aunt from one town to another which was an hour away. This was ridiculous.
Grace FGet someone who's informed about renting your vehicles there is no one there with any information on how to do it when there was less than a quarter of a tank of gas I said are you going to fill it up and I'm at a gas station no no gas gas then I was charged a fuel fee of $20.60 when I left it more filled than it when I received it
James DThe equipment was fine but this location asked for a lot of information that was already provided for when you rent the car. They asked for my license, a photo, emergency contacts, where I was going…. Etc. it was just annoying since I already put that info online.
Jennifer DThe person working there was very rude,kept trying to take my phone out of my hands whenever I asked him a question about something regarding the reservation. The van was very dirty, the seats in the front were covered in dog hair and the bar was very dirty. Some items I moved I had to wipe or clean off once I got to my location. Very disappointed and will not return to this location and will have to reconsider if I will rent from U-Haul again.

Mary Athe front passenger tire had 20 out of 90 psi, and shell wouldn't allow me to use their air in the garage. then he said he had no quarters to use the machine outside. he told me to drive a mile down the road to 7eleven where i had to pay to air up the tire to safely drive to buffalo

We had to drive to another location and took about two to get truck with the mobile app. The guy at customer service helped us a lot but I got more than two hours late my destination . Never again trust the U-Haul.
Rodrigo NUhaul moved me many times, didn't have the vehicle I requested and tried to charge me for the mileage of the vehicle that they had even though it was not what I needed. The tires were low on the vehicle and caused high speed (50+ mph) to be shaky and uncomfortable drive

Steve GHad to call the manager from the employee’s phone who worked there because he didn’t understand. And then when the manager came he was upset that he had to be there. Then he was irritated when I told him that I was told that they would pay for any leftover boxes that I had. So overall not a great experience.
