The lady who checked us in couldn’t have been nicer, but the owner of the facility named Al was verbally abusive to both myself and my employee… I have already reached out to Uhaul and filed a formal complaint about this and have a telephone call with Juan tomorrow.

Have a way to drop off equipment after closing time so that an extra day isn't added. (I missed closing time by 1/2 hour, had to pay an extra day. Sad face.)
Faryl RI arrived 20 minutes before the 2 pm closing time and no one was present. I was still able to drop off the truck, but I would've preferred a real person. I called the location, and no one answered.
STEPHEN AThe location would not allow parking on site. This is the first of hunreds of Uhaul experiences that I was ever told I could not leave a parked car for 3 hours. I recently had knee surgery and had to walk blocks away before leaving with the truck and then of course back to retrieve the truck. Meanwhile there were multiple cars parked on site and someone working on repairing a car. Truck was dirty but appeared to be maintained.

Joseph CFinding this U-Haul was incredibly challenging, and the rep’s attitude was incredibly dismissive. I’m certain many people face similar difficulties here. From the outset, it seemed like he just didn’t care. To make matters worse, I couldn’t park my car for a short period and had to park it across the street at the mall, which was an unusual and frustrating situation, especially when he was rushing me as if I had made that rule. The truck itself was in good condition. While there was an available tow truck that he could transfer to me, instead of having to pick it up in Simi Valley, he neglected to ensure that my car was securely fastened to it. As a result, I arrived home with only one tire wheel fastened, and the other tire had completely fallen off, and no chain was ever fastened! I even paid him extra to ensure that everything was properly fixed, which I shouldn’t have to do for the money I’m paying. To top it off, he scoffed that it was the easiest money he had ever made. I strongly advise against renting your U-Haul from this location. Do yourself and everyone on the road a big favor and rent out from an alternative location. Well it’s somewhat normal in these parts of LA to come across vendors that just don’t care, in this situation, people’s safety is at risk. Find somewhere else!
Scott PThe agent that released the vehicle does not have great customer service. He failed to mention the check-in process. No one in this location answered the phone. I involved the corporate office to reach out to this location to have the vehicle properly checked in.

JUAN IOpens at 9am. My reservation was for 9:30am. Owner didn’t show up until 10:05am. Equipment was damaged and not usable. Luckily a smaller trailer was available, which was not optimal, but was my only choice.

JONATHON MHave the staff show up to work on time. When people rent a truck for the day they normally have the day planned out very precisely. So when the U-Haul staff shows up to work more than 30 minutes late it negatively impacts the customer and costs the customer more money due to idle laborers.

JAMES BOnly had 3 trailers and one small truck in the lot. Did not look like a real U-Haul location. Very temporary looking. Had to hook my own trailer up cause the receptionist lady couldn’t and the guy there was in a suit didn’t look like he even worked there. Trailer light connector was broken and had to be replaced before I could get on the road. Just silly experience overall. I laughed about it once I left.

RICHARD AThe location was supposed to close at 5pm. I arrived at approximately 430, and location was already closed. Had to drive extra miles back and forth to to and from in the morning and day of rental, because location was prematurely closed with no warning . Was charged the extra mileage to and from my house 2 times because location was closed before closing time
TYLER HI was misinformed about the gas mileage. I was told that if I returned it with more than a 1/4 of a tank of gas I would not be charged. I put in 1/4 of a tank before I returned it and was still charged $22.50 for fuel. If that is not refunded I will find another truck renter to which to take my business.

Elizabeth SYour representative at this location Sherman Oaks leaves much to be desired in the customer service department. His attitude was bad on both occasions. Very unapproachable, stand offish, as if to convey I as a new customer was a great bother to his work day. To add to that, I had reserved the truck online including a dolly reserved with explicit instructions that this was going to be a one way rental. No problem since no one said anything to the contrary. Your guy at pick up said I do understand that the dolly had to be returned as per uhaul policy. I asked him how does that make sense since I'm only going one way? And I was not informed about it at time of reservation. Frustrated, I had him remove the charge however, when I dropped off the truck at the other location, I mentioned this to them and they said that's not true, it's done often.?? Bad experience I'll soon not forget! Steve

The employees there were kind, but U-Haul customer service was rude and unsympathetic, and did not want to help us it seemed. It was a hellish day, and I’m glad it’s over, but I am not at all happy with my experience.

SHADIA GWe reserved a 15 foot truck weeks before our reservation and we were called the day before telling us they could not accomodate that request...we were offered a 10 foot or a 26 foot truck. We ended up taking the 10 foot truck - would have been nice to have a little more warning. Also, the place opened at 9:00. We arrived at 9:12 and no one was in the office. The guy finally arrived and I followed him into the office and he told me that I needed to wait as he needed to get settled in. He should have been ready for customers at 9:00 Not the best experience I have had with Uhaul.
