Staff was very dismissive, didn’t have equipment I had reserved , can’t park car on premises, overall scamy vibes.
DAKOTA SEnsure that you have an employee there to retrieve the equipment. and not have customers moving and having to hook up the trailers themselves. Not safe

JAMES BOnly had 3 trailers and one small truck in the lot. Did not look like a real U-Haul location. Very temporary looking. Had to hook my own trailer up cause the receptionist lady couldn’t and the guy there was in a suit didn’t look like he even worked there. Trailer light connector was broken and had to be replaced before I could get on the road. Just silly experience overall. I laughed about it once I left.

RICHARD AThe location was supposed to close at 5pm. I arrived at approximately 430, and location was already closed. Had to drive extra miles back and forth to to and from in the morning and day of rental, because location was prematurely closed with no warning . Was charged the extra mileage to and from my house 2 times because location was closed before closing time
TYLER HI was misinformed about the gas mileage. I was told that if I returned it with more than a 1/4 of a tank of gas I would not be charged. I put in 1/4 of a tank before I returned it and was still charged $22.50 for fuel. If that is not refunded I will find another truck renter to which to take my business.

Elizabeth SYour representative at this location Sherman Oaks leaves much to be desired in the customer service department. His attitude was bad on both occasions. Very unapproachable, stand offish, as if to convey I as a new customer was a great bother to his work day. To add to that, I had reserved the truck online including a dolly reserved with explicit instructions that this was going to be a one way rental. No problem since no one said anything to the contrary. Your guy at pick up said I do understand that the dolly had to be returned as per uhaul policy. I asked him how does that make sense since I'm only going one way? And I was not informed about it at time of reservation. Frustrated, I had him remove the charge however, when I dropped off the truck at the other location, I mentioned this to them and they said that's not true, it's done often.?? Bad experience I'll soon not forget! Steve

The employees there were kind, but U-Haul customer service was rude and unsympathetic, and did not want to help us it seemed. It was a hellish day, and I’m glad it’s over, but I am not at all happy with my experience.

Eldy listened to me vent, gave me words of wisdom and put a smile on my face. A truly sincere person that made such a difference in morning. If I ever need more uhaul, If I need uhaul again, I'm going there !
SHADIA GWe reserved a 15 foot truck weeks before our reservation and we were called the day before telling us they could not accomodate that request...we were offered a 10 foot or a 26 foot truck. We ended up taking the 10 foot truck - would have been nice to have a little more warning. Also, the place opened at 9:00. We arrived at 9:12 and no one was in the office. The guy finally arrived and I followed him into the office and he told me that I needed to wait as he needed to get settled in. He should have been ready for customers at 9:00 Not the best experience I have had with Uhaul.
AMY NI called over two weeks in advance to confirm that the vehicle I needed would be available, and was told to call back next week. Called back next week only to be told to call Wednesday. Called Wednesday only to be told to call 24 hours in advance. Called 24 hours in advance only to be told that, dispite the truck being in the yard and no one scheduled, they couldn't guarantee it. On the day of my appointment, the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive. I was blow away by the utter lack of professionalism. It was as if my presence as a customer was annoying them. I wasn't asking for anything other than a confirmation of the equipment I requested, and a degree of decent customer service when picking up my rental. As for the truck, the AC didn't work, and it had a check engine light on the entire time. I won't be using uhaul services again.
JORDAN BTruck was dirty with garbage in the cab, I got the truck with absolutely no gas in it and had to go to a gas station within a mile or rental or risk running out of gas. The Truck had a broken muffler so it was extremely loud
RICHARD RTruck wasn't ready and employee working was rude. He told us the truck was dirty, but it was the only one left. He also tried to scam me on gas.

DEKISHA HDropped off the truck and whilst I was taking the photos, they closed the gates on me and locked me inside. Tried calling the phone number multiple times , nobody picked up so I hadn’t been able to climb over that 10 foot fence. I would’ve been stuck in there all night. When I called them to let them know that this is happened and was extremely dangerous. The guy laughed in my face. be careful whoever is running this place is extremely irresponsible

I got there to pick up a trailer, there was only one employee he saw me pull up yet he kept walking around on his phone so I gave him some time because I thought he was busy with a customer on the phone however; 10 mins passed and I could here him just chatting and joking on the phone appeared to be talking to a friend. I decided to approach him, he was very rude and said he was busy that he would help me out as soon as he was done. Another 10-14 mins passed and he decided he could help, told him was there to pick up a trailer.. he just told me to back up near the trailer. As he was attaching the trailer to my truck he kept on bitching & and say bad words that (this fuckin stupid holes on my truck were too small) so I approached him and asked if he needed help as I didn’t want any damage to my truck.. he rudely said if you know how to do it the. You go ahead and do it yourself.. so I did, I hat to do it myself… I honestly would of just left but I really needed this trailer to move some furniture.. Returning the trailer was the same ride employee! Had to unhitch the trailer myself! @ UHAUL do better! Please train your employees on better customer service!

ERIC PI picked up and dropped off at this site 3 times in the last few years. It has the WORST customer service and I would avoid doing any business with this site! The U-Haul site is located under an overpass, creepy deserted dirt lot, with an old trailer for an office. When I arrived I saw a young man sitting in a car eating. I asked if he worked for U-Haul and he abruptly told me yes, but he was on a lunch break, and I would have to wait until he was finished. 15 minutes later he walked to my truck, extremely unhappy, and asked if it was just me picking up the trailer. Explained that the trailer was in a difficult position to drive off the lot, it was heavy, and that I would need to get out and help push the trailer to reposition it. I told him that I didn't see the issue, just hook it to my truck and I could get it out of the lot. I nicely told him that I haul horse trailers 3 times the size of the one I was renting and it was not an issue. He was so frustrated, he kept telling me that I was going to get the trailer stuck and that he could not help if I did. Once it was hooked up, I asked if he could check the lights, turn signals and brakes. He stood behind for a second while the running lights were on and told me that was good enough, he didn't need to check the turn signals and brakes. Ok, that was comforting... Then it took just a few times turning and backing up, and I was able to easily pull the trailer out of a tight and awkward space. Why they parked the few trailers they had on top of each other in this big empty lot was puzzling. Unfortunately we underestimated how much furniture my daughter was moving, and realized a bigger box truck was needed. I called the U-Haul main line and was told to take the trailer back to the dreaded lot on Hazeltine for a refund. Once again the less than friendly young man was onsite, who is obviously miserable working at this job. He looked up, saw me pull back in with the trailer, and just sat in a truck pretending not to notice me for 10 minutes. When he finally walked over and I explained that we rented a bigger box truck, he abruptly told me that I would not get a refund because I could have used the trailer already. Which I had not, and I was returning the trailer within 24 hours and 3 days early. The not so happy young man said he would unhook the trailer then I was to leave, and call customer service for a refund. So while he was unhooking the trailer, I called the customer service line at U-Haul and asked how to get the refund. They told me that the dealer where I was dropping it off needed to send the information for a refund. While I had customer service on the phone, I told the unhappy young man what they said. He became angry, telling me that he does not issue refunds and I needed to call customer service to get any money back. Customer service listened to the whole conversation, and I really hope they recorded the conversation. There were some other customers uncomfortably witnessing this rude man. In the end I got in my truck, figuring we just lost $300, and started to drive out. The young man yelled at me, "Don't you want me to get you a refund?" I mean he just refused to do it! So he had me get out of my truck, walk into the tiny office trailer, and stand there awkwardly while he sat at the computer and typed away. This lasted several minutes, no words exchanged, the other customers also stood awkwardly in the trailer waiting. Then he looked up and told me I would have a refund in a few days. No paperwork, and of course it never happened. I seriously doubt we ever will see a refund. There are plenty of U-Haul drop off sites in the Sherman Oaks area, I highly recommend staying clear of the one on Hazeltine Ave!
Lysbeth WThe truck was a mess when I got it including a mostly smoke marijuana cigarette in front dash. I got charged a cleaning fee despite that. Honestly horrible.

DANIEL SWhat this location lacks in polish, it makes up for in its staff. The gentleman in the office was extremely accommodating and helpful, even though I was only doing a mobile check-in and pick up. Will definitely be coming back the next time I am in need of a moving van/truck.

LOURDES PTuesday and Thursday hours need to be extended, currently closed at 3 p.m. App for returned check in is difficult for me to use. I'm a disabled tech person. 😐 If you could simplified app for elderly, it would be great.
