Luis PThere were not people onsite! There were no clear instructions on how to check my UHaul in, where to leave it or how to verify that I had actually returned the dolly and all the UHaul blankets. I eventually found a website posted on the key dropbox outside the main entry door that helped me drop the truck off, but had no way of locking the back of the truck. So I had to stuff all the blankets and dolly in the cab so no one could steal them. The app worked better on this end of the trip.
William YI was treated very well and the agent, Tracy Pendleton, was helpful and knowledgeable. He went the extra mile to make sure I was good to go concerning the state of the truck and that I had everything I needed. Could not have been more helpful.

TRACY PVerify out of state licenses prior to rental day, or at least notify of the requirements for out of state licenses. The representative I spoke to was very rude and did not explain what needed to happen or why. Made us late to meet the movers. Additionally, two blankets were missed. Tried to call within business hours and left a message. Still have not received a call back in order to return.

MORGAN GIt was such an inconvenience to pick up the truck I had reserved for weeks. It could have taken 10 minutes with an actual person at the location but online it took an hour and a half because the website is absurd

kyle rI wouldn't recommend sending someone here on a Saturday because they are closed. I was able to reach the owner and after confirming our reservation, he gave me a code to open up a lock on the outdoor wall to access the key to the truck. This worked out fine, but took some extra time and was initially very frustrating because I was not told they would be closed on a Saturday.

Stephanie MWe specifically chose a location without digital checkin and upon arrival were told we had to digitally check in. The lock box to get the key out was broken. A dolly was not included in the truck despite us paying for the equipment. We had to find a 3rd party dolly for our move. We will not be using U-Haul again in the future.

I have actually never been treated so poorly at any company. 5 calls to corporate to get the issue resolved.. $55 for an erroneously added day and related insurance. The treatment by the Regional I was told, Troy Jacobsen ('boss, man' on the caller ID.. classy) was incredibly condescending and accusatory from hello. Shameful behavior. The location is dark at night and doesn't give a safe vibe. The location Manager was also condescending and rude, hung up on me twice even though admitted he knew we returned the vehicle on time, actually a day early. All the way around worst customer service I have had in a very very long time. This should not be allowed.

Karyn MThe code on the box didn't work so well. We had to try many many times and wiggle the handle to finally get it to open and get our keys. We also made our reservation for 7:30 AM and they called to say our truck was only available at another location a mile away but somehow, our reservation got switched to 10 AM so we had to call in order to get the time switched even though the truck was there and waiting. It wouldn't allow us to switch the time on the app which is not so great. Other than that, everything else went smoothly.

I called again and I was told that the person was at lunch and would be back in 30 minutes. He was apologetic and very nice. The receptionist was very nice and helpful, just had some misinformation.

Kirsten HBetter communication within the company & the system. There was much misunderstanding because the original location had been changed because of inventory. Then a mistake returning the truck to the original location instead of the changed location. One owner, Craig at the South Jordan location was very kind in finding a solution although he was given wrong information from "traffic". The owner from Shine was very unprofessional & rude. There was misunderstandings but he spoke to me, the customer as if I had known better. He was unwilling to listen to me & when the issue went up to the regional manager Troy, Troy listened to me but also spoke to me as if I should have known the workings of the company better. Troy "hopes" the owner of Shine will change his ways after this although I'm not sure since his reviews on Google were already bad when I went to write my review. But because I wasn't given an option on location, I couldn't check the reviews. This owner & this situation has put me off of U-Haul rental in the future. I've never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. Even after I owned up to the mistake & was trying to find a solution, the owner of Shine was degrading to me.

Brian BOur return experience was terrible. We had 24/7 contactless method but the app version of the UHaul app wouldn't save the photos we took of the odometer. We were sitting there for at least 30-40 minutes using two different phones (android), logging out/back in, restarting the app, etc. Couldn't get ahold of anyone at U-Haul customer service since it was an hour wait on the phone line. FINALLY someone else met us who had an iphone and we were hoping a different OS app would work, which it did. But you need better support for 24/7 pick ups and returns in case your app is buggy. Based on Google reviews about this return location, the owner is unhelpful, if not hostile, when dealing with U-Haul customers so we didn't even try to contact them since it wasn't regular business hours (note the location owner was fine and chatted with us, but he didn't come by until after we had processed the return ourselves).
Nelson HThis location has 24/7 drop-off and pick-up. I dropped my truck off at 9:20pm on Sunday night. I did the mobile check-in and took all required pictures and documented the mileage and answered all questions. It took roughly 30 minutes to complete. The next day, I received an notification that my credit card on file had been charged for a $25 cleaning fee, with no email, text, or phone call on this matter. The U-Haul was only used for one day and had no stains, scratches, smells, or debris. The Shine Towing LLC took advantage of the mobile after-hours check in and charged me incorrectly. I am not happy about this service and I will be using Penske for my next state-to-state trip.
