Better communication within the company & the system. There was much misunderstanding because the original location had been changed because of inventory. Then a mistake returning the truck to the original location instead of the changed location. One owner, Craig at the South Jordan location was very kind in finding a solution although he was given wrong information from "traffic". The owner from Shine was very unprofessional & rude. There was misunderstandings but he spoke to me, the customer as if I had known better. He was unwilling to listen to me & when the issue went up to the regional manager Troy, Troy listened to me but also spoke to me as if I should have known the workings of the company better. Troy "hopes" the owner of Shine will change his ways after this although I'm not sure since his reviews on Google were already bad when I went to write my review. But because I wasn't given an option on location, I couldn't check the reviews. This owner & this situation has put me off of U-Haul rental in the future. I've never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. Even after I owned up to the mistake & was trying to find a solution, the owner of Shine was degrading to me.Courtney A.

The completely automated process for the renter it too much and takes too long. I will not rent from a center that utilizes this tech solution ever again. I will only work with a "live" person, "in-person".Brian B.
Our return experience was terrible. We had 24/7 contactless method but the app version of the UHaul app wouldn't save the photos we took of the odometer. We were sitting there for at least 30-40 minutes using two different phones (android), logging out/back in, restarting the app, etc. Couldn't get ahold of anyone at U-Haul customer service since it was an hour wait on the phone line. FINALLY someone else met us who had an iphone and we were hoping a different OS app would work, which it did. But you need better support for 24/7 pick ups and returns in case your app is buggy. Based on Google reviews about this return location, the owner is unhelpful, if not hostile, when dealing with U-Haul customers so we didn't even try to contact them since it wasn't regular business hours (note the location owner was fine and chatted with us, but he didn't come by until after we had processed the return ourselves).Nelson H.

This location has 24/7 drop-off and pick-up. I dropped my truck off at 9:20pm on Sunday night. I did the mobile check-in and took all required pictures and documented the mileage and answered all questions. It took roughly 30 minutes to complete. The next day, I received an notification that my credit card on file had been charged for a $25 cleaning fee, with no email, text, or phone call on this matter. The U-Haul was only used for one day and had no stains, scratches, smells, or debris. The Shine Towing LLC took advantage of the mobile after-hours check in and charged me incorrectly. I am not happy about this service and I will be using Penske for my next state-to-state trip.Alexander R.

Make sure everything is on time. I waited 3 1/2 hours past my original request. I showed up to the location at the agreed upon time and the truck was there, but the manager was not and made me wait an additional hour 1 1/2. He was nice but it was insane how long i had to wait.Noah R.
I purposely asked for a check in at a counter with a person and then had to do everything myself with my cell phone which was the biggest pain! Also, the email was not marked well enough letting me know my reservation had been moved so we went to the original location to begin with. The truck was not parked in the location the pickup picture had placed it, not even on the same street. It took me 30 minutes to get my truck, I had to call because with was a remote pick up. We had requested a dolly. When I got home to start packing up the boxes the dolly was not present in the truck. I had to then drive 20 minutes round trip after waiting to no one in the lobby at the other location. Then had to go through another contract just to get the dolly. I want to make it clear that I am not so much upset at the size of the truck or service, but the fact that we are getting charged for the gas. Seems that we are being punished for taking a smaller truck, being pleasant about it, having to figure out how to pack a 3 bedroom home into a 1 bedroom truck and laughing and convincing ourselves it was partially our fault â€¦. And then getting slammed with a gas bill â€¦ really? The reason we did not get the 26 foot truck which was originally scheduled was because the business closed on Friday through Sunday and we needed to pick the truck up on Sunday. They did not have time to get the truck ready for us because the business was closed ... the person I talked to was quite pleasant in explaining this but was still disappointed when I could see the 26 footer and not be able to use it ... and we did not get any noticeKevin S.

The entire experience was horrific at best, first U-Haul continued to mess up my order after multiple communications to get it correct, yet your customer service staff was unable, Once it got up the chain and had a truck supposedly waiting for me, I was informed by U-Haul I had to speak with the person at Shine Towing and when I got there I found his office locked no one there. I then called him he said he was out of town and couldn't help me and actually hung up on me, I called him back but he did not answer nor returned my call. After working with U-Haul again they informed on how to pick up my truck, but I did not have the blankets I ordered and was told that the office had them ready for me I just had to go in and get them, but how could I when this office was closed/locked and no one there????? This was the WORST experience I have ever had with Uhaul. My reservation was completely changed without my permissions or ANY communication about it. I was charged for multiple things I didn't rent, receive, or purchase. My pick up time and rental time were totally different from my reservation, not by my doing and without my knowledge, when I went to pick up the truck. I was grossly overcharged for Uhaul's mistakes. Still waiting to hear back from customer service. Do not use the 24/7 app and make your reservation in person and print or photograph EVERYTHING.Mary Beth L.

Trailer brake lights and left blinker didn't work, returned to rental location but staff couldn't swap out trailers for me even though 3 similar trailers were on sight. Ridiculous that there was no one there to update my reservation in the system and get me a fully functional trailer for my long drive out of state. This was not the fault of the business, and he offered to make it right by sweeping the thing out. I declined and told him I could do it. The location is dirty and unorganized. It's an off grid location and you can tell. Also, we were pushed around from location to location meaning more time to drive and pick up the truck, we had to pay for more gas since we had to drive farther. Also, my wife was not educated about her options to drop off at the same location as the pick up to save money. This trip cost us $60 more than it should have because we could have dropped it off back at the sandy location and even if it was $1.00 per mile it would have been cheaper than the option my wife selected due to lack of education. There needs to be more focus on helping the customer rather than just doing whatever happens. Let's cater to the customer's needs and educate them on their options. I'm very disappointed but we will just mark this down as a learning experience.Brad K.

I was charged for the use of the pads and folly but never used them. I called the location I got it at (Shine Towing in Sandy Utah) they said the would call me back to get a refund and never did. I really don't like paying for something I didn't use. The zip ties wore never broken. Please adjust this ASAPRobert M.

Very pleasant experience with the folks at Shine Towing. Check-out was a slam dunk, in and out in no time. I had to return a trailer after hours and the proprietor was very flexible about it and provided simple instructions on what to do. When I picked up the trailer it was clear that this team was prepared for my arrival and appreciated my business. Highly recommend this U-Haul location.Curt C.
Person there really did not care. When I came in did not even turn to face me until he needed my license. Did not tell me to look for damage and that a link was coming. Had to hook it up mainly by myself since he has some very old gentleman help that couldn't lift it. Was told it would only be 18.95 for the 24 hours however receipt showed $40. I'm now getting charged $40 when on the phone reservation and at the site they said it would only be $18.95.ERIK T.

During our move to Idaho, we have rented U-Haul trailers four times. Each and every time, the fine folks at Shine Towing helped us out and were a pleasure to work with.rocky R.

I was there early 9:15 and tried to use the app provided. It didn't work. Over and over again. It didn't work. I have a group of people waiting for me. The manager showed up after 10:00. He said that the app will only work 5 min before your schedule time and only 5 min after. SO the keys to the truck were still locked inside the office. And all the pads that I paid for were still in the office. So if the app worked I still wouldn't have had any keys or blankets ready for me. This was not a spur of the moment decision. All my planing with movers and being early went up in smoke. Never EVER again will I ever deal with them, and with U haul (if I can get away with it) again. No one lived it to the promises you told me that you made. !!!!! Dam right I'm mad!!!!Jon R.
