ARIELLE MWhen I picked up the truck I saw the miles but I didn't double checked with the contract because I wasn't thinking there was any issues. Well I should have done it, because the shop charged extra 20 miles that I haven't done. He charged me for 55 miles when I probably did 30 or even less. I called and he said that without proof he doesn't care what I'm saying. Very unprofessional.

LAURIE PFirst off, the man working (maybe the owner?) was terribly unfriendly. Same experience on both pick up and drop off. I definitely did not feel wanted. Then, All the pictures of the vehicle were inaccurate. The vehicle had many scratches, cuffs, and damage that was not reflected in the pictures. I was nervous that I would miss one of them and then be charged for it. Probably my worst U-Haul experience yet

Dave BI noticed that the contract I was sent had the wrong information on it. My reservation was for 2pm, and I showed up a few minutes early so I could ask about the contract, but there was a sign on the door that said “out to lunch back at 2:45.” A guy in a nearby truck yelled “you’re gonna have to come back.” I said “my reservation is at 2.” He said “what reservation?” I said “to pick up the uhaul.” He got out of his truck all irritated and took us inside, then said “you don’t have a reservation.” I told him we did, and I showed him the contract, but he was insistent we weren’t in the system. He said “did you already check out?” I said “I booked it on the U-Haul website and it told me I didn’t actually pay for it yet, so I’m not sure.” He kept asking the same question, “did you check out,” and after a few more times of me saying the same thing he finally went “you checked out. You did it on the mobile device.” Then he threw us the keys and left as fast as possible, I didn’t even have time to ask about the contract or anything because he was so pissy about getting lunch or whatever. I had to call the uhaul customer service line to ask about the contract, and they told me that $98 was charged to my card instead of the $19.95 that was supposed to be charged, because “the customer estimated that it would be a 100 mile trip.” I said “I’m the customer, it’s not a 100 mile trip. I’m going from mid city to Glendale.” They said “whoever picked up the truck confirmed that it was an estimated 100 mile trip.” I told them I did not confirm that, I wasn’t asked any questions about the trip at all. So it also seems like this pickup location just tried to take more money from me by saying I’d be making a 100 mile trip, and hoped I wouldn’t notice or something? Terrible experience, next time I’ll use a local moving service instead of u-haul because it was so stressful and I ended up paying way more than I signed up for.

Vince MI never took possession of the van. When I went to pick it up it was blocked by a truck. The office was closed and there was no way I could take the van. However was odd is that I got a bill for it and the van was driven. Now I don't know who drove the van because I never drove it off the lot. So no I would not recommend this location.

BRIAN LThe overall U-Haul service was not excellent this time. I had requested a 15 footer truck and a day before I moved they called me saying they only had a 10 footer truck available. I had to make two trips and had to pay for that extra milage which I could have save using the 15 footer. Next time I'm renting a Penske.

Gyu LI was told that the closest drop-off location was not available for drop-off as they did not have the space. This meant that instead of going less than a mile away and a short drive time, I had to go to a location that was 4 miles away. That doesn’t sound like a great distance, but it required me to go through the heart of Las Angeles during Friday rush hour which took almost one hour to get to and 45 minutes to get back home. It was an inconvenience that I should not have had to endure. I think that I should be credited the extra milage that I paid for. The allowed included mileage was lower than I anticipated being that I had to drive from Sacramento to LA but with a stop in Pacific Grove, CA. Initially, when I first called for an estimate I was told that the mileage was unlimited by the agent. But when I called back to make the actual reservation I was given a set mileage, not the unlimited mileage I was initially told. I believe that they also told me that I was eligible for an AAA or military discount and those were not available at the time of making the reservation as well. I felt like it was a bit of the ol’ “Bait and Switch” game. Again, due to the lack of concern at the initial check-in, the trash and dirty truck and the fact that I could not turn the truck in at the closer location should merit some sort of discount as a gesture of fair business practices. I doubt I will hear back from anyone though unless the company really does care about its reputation and its customers.
