They are reporting the gas amount incorrectly and charging for gas improperly. I dropped it off at 3/4. And they are reporting 1/2. That’s the most dishonest thing ever.

Trenton RI could not be more frustrated with U Haul after this moving experience. First off, I arrived to the pickup location early — the address/store I selected when I booked the truck, which was listed in my confirmation email. I started the check in process and it told me I wasn’t at the right address — I was supposed to be at a different location. I reached out to U Haul support and explained the situation and they were very unhelpful. My assumption is that when I changed the time of my reservation, U Haul changed the address without really notifying me properly, especially when I specifically clicked through to change the time, not the location — I never wanted to change the location. So I drove to the other location, since customer service was useless. At this point, I’m already cutting into my reservation window. The new location was in the middle of *downtown* and all of the parking was street, and had a two hour limit. So I had to plan — in the middle of my move — to come back and move my car to avoid ticketing. The location was also much further from both my start and finish moving locations, adding mileage (money/costs) and time to my move. The check in process made no sense. U Haul makes you drive to the pickup location in order to start the check in process where they expect you to sit in your car and take photos of yourself and your ID, provide random contact referral info (which they never reached out to), and *wait* for them to authorize your pickup virtually. Additionally, there were cigarette butts and sawdust on the bed of the truck, and the dolly I ordered wasn’t in the truck nor provided to me. Once I finally checked in and got to the truck, I realized I had to walk back into the store and ask for the dolly. By the time I actually started driving to my destination, it was nearly 30 minutes into my four hour window. Between that and the added driving time for the new location, we had to rush and only got the U Haul back 15 min before our window expired. Overall, this was a really horrible experience. Moving is stressful and U Haul took that stress to an entirely new level.

Katie KThe vehicle was left on b fairly poor condition and with a nearly empty tank, which the management didn’t review prior to the pickup. The overall attitude seemed disengaged & lackadaisical. Additionally, the added fees on uhaul rentals are exorbitant and the “19.99” rental base cost is laughable as a statement uhaul makes. The cost was $73 + $15 in gas. I’ll be renting a normal truck via a car rental company in the future instead.

Cathleen ZThe clerk complained about U-Haul’s reservation system, I waited 25 minutes to be able to get the vehicle. I had to rush my work because I reserved the van for 4 hours and was already 50 minutes into my reservation by the time I got the van. The van was clean, but the clerk told me it was low on gas, “so you’ll need to get gas”. Very disappointed , regarding the service, but very pleased with the van rental, with the exception of the low gas.

Lisa ACame from California to rent a van to go to Wilson Wyoming. The gentleman who helped me (sadly forgot his name) went above and beyond! Not from Salt Lake City, but I recommend this location if you live there or visit and need a uhaul! 100/10 would recommend

He didn't even know that he had the truck that I reserved ready to go already and because of his ignorance, apathy and laziness, I was made to wait an extra 45 minutes completely unnecessarily until he figured out that the truck was ready to be lent out the whole time. I would not recommend this location.

bart jThe van had not been cleaned or filled up before I used it. The last person who used it left a partially smoked cigarette in the cupholder. I was told that it had a quarter tank of gas and immediately as I pulled out of the parking lot, the gas light came on and the dash said "50 miles until empty". I felt obligated to fill it up with more gas than I used because I didn't want to be penalized because the guy at the counter thought there was more gas in it than there actually was.

Davis DProcess for picking the truck was a little frustrating. I would be better if some of the documentation can be provided in advance and then just a picture of the driver with the truck to confirm identity once at the location. Otherwise, my experience was great.

He is not only there every day, but he handles shipping, mailing, packages, the floor, customer service, and the phones, and he always does it with a smile, professionalism, and a genuine heart. I've told my neighbors about the mailbox services because packages keep getting stolen from here or any time anyone wants something sent off or mailed. Top marks across the board.

Alex BThe vehicle had someone else’s soda and cigarette butts in it. The fan control knob for the vehicle was missing and I got caught in a snowstorm on a mountain pass with no functional defrost. Extremely dangerous!! I couldn’t see and had to hang my face out the window to make sure I didn’t drive off the road. I should ask for a free rental but am still waiting to hear about getting a discount. Insane

john sI reserved my pickup for 8:30 am but when I arrived and checked in online I got a message that I would not be able to pick up my van until 10:00 am, when the store opened. This was a pretty big inconvenience and I would have picked a different location, with earlier availability, had that been clean during the reservation process. The clerk working the desk was very helpful.

andy mYour reservation process made payments very confusing. I was asked three times to verify charges to my debit card, with no clear understanding of the final amount due. In total, I was asked to verify $115 dollars worth of charges varying from $30-$75 and still do not know what my final charge amount was for using your service. This is very frustrating.

Atif ENo clear designated spots for van to be parked in lot. Spot was occupied when returned key. Would be nice to have spot closer to front of parking lot instead of very back. Not easy to back van into.

He was very put out
