The online check-in and check-out process is pretty glitchy: pages don't load from notifications, some pages would hang and just reload without progressing to the next page. The word lock can be fiddly. and my truck beeps like the lights are on every time you open the door regardless of whether the lights are on or the key's in the ignition, and that was weird and briefly frustrating. Valerie (at Stowbird) is awesome and Monique (at the 24-hour roadside assistance line) was the best combination of knowledgeable and calm when I was losing my mind about the beeping.

STEVE AThe U-Haul representative was helpful, and about the best I’ve ever seen at U-Haul. But, months ago I reserved a van at Minden, NV, but it was switched to Carson City a few days ago. Then, in the morning of my reservation day, U-Haul called to switch me to an even further out pick-up location, and also switched me from a van to a truck. It was supposed to be “no extra charge”, but it ended up with a higher per-mile rate, and with the much farther away pick-up/drop-off location, the tome and cost was much higher than I bargained for.
