There was all sorts of gravel in the Back Bay of the truck. And also I found a used cigarette in the cup holder. It doesn't seem like anybody made sure the truck was clean in between customers. Also I was not able to use the app to check out the vehicle, instead I had to go in and talk to the people even though I had selected the app option.

If sitting stopped while idling the cab reeked of exhaust. Randy was awesome and very helpful and said he would take care of it when the truck was returned. Ultimately U-Haul needs to maintain their trucks better. This is the second time from two different locations I received faulty equipment from U-Haul.

Lyric D.The location I picked up the vehicle was great...very helpful, polite, and nice. However, my experience overall with Uhaul was an absolute nightmare...similar to previous experiences. First they changed my pick up location 3 times. When I finally arrived at the "final" pickup location I was informed not only did they not have the Uhaul I reserved, but there was no Uhauls of that size available anywhere in Anchorage. I ended up with a 27' Uhaul instead of a 20' Uhaul which was more difficult to navigate and cost me $600 (!!!!!) more to put on the car ferry to get it to my final destination. All in all, my experiences with Uhaul over the years have always been less than ideal. The individuals I have actually dealt with have been great, the business itself is a poorly managed joke. It amazes me the company hasn't went under as every single time I rent from Uhaul there is an issue. Lucky for Uhaul they are the only option where I live. I will be doing my best to take my business elsewhere in the future.

I only feel dumb because it's like 2 am and I cannot recall the owners name. He was professional, pleasant and upbeat. 5 shining stars! A definite asset to your company!

Robert C.Randy Was incredibly rude when I called him with an issue with my rental equipment I had pay for extra insurance in case something would happen and he started yelling at me about missing a reservation because The key to the truck was missing and I had not returned the vehicle. He then proceeded to tell me there is no such thing as insurance for the key which I later found out is not true I had this truck for an extra five or six days trying to figure out a way to find the key I even found a police report because I do believe it was stolen nobody i spoke with seem to care about my side of the storyAnd when I finally did get a hold of a human and help me file a claim and then hung up on me and went and picked up the truck without notifying me when they would be there and who is coming I'm extremely dissatisfied and I will not be returning to the business and I would like to talk to corporate about the situation

The mileage was recorded wrong over a 1200 mile difference lucky I was took a picture of the milage before I turned in to the Uhaul returnto prove I did not drive 1200 mile in 24 hours so I would not get charged when I returned. Also the truck smelled like POT when I picked it up to a point in where I opened windows while driving to get the smell out. I will not recommend renting from this location.

It had a worn, dirty COVID-19 mask under the seat and food spit out on the dashboard, a dirty bloody bandaid on the floor, dried, sticky coffee and other crap in the cup holders and dirt all over the floor inside the cab. The truck storage area was also dirty and had spilled dog food and other debris inside it. The exterior was un-washed and dirty, too. The guy who did the contract work was clueless and explained nothing about the process to me. I will NEVER rent a U-Haul again. I had made my reservation at the Old Seward U-Haul Center location but last minute I received a call to pick up my truck at this location. This location was a car detail place!!! Not a U-Haul rental center but a car detail shop that couldn't even clean the truck!!!!

Matthieu O.The DC Uhaul I rented was not the most pleasant one. As it was making loud noise and the gear stick was not line up correctly with the setting which made it very hard to drive. The truck was loaded with trash and a used couch which I did not know until I have already drove home to load my stuff. It made loading very difficult because I had to clean the truck I paid to rent before I could use it. Then I had to load the trash that came with it back into the truck. This was the worst experience ever.
Nou H.We need a trailer with a jack and a spare tire for long trips. I did Anchorage to Virginia, 4250 miles and i was unable to unhook the trailer, it was to heavy without a jack! Also trailers need place to lock between hitch and trailer. The rest was perfect, trailer was good and did well.
Cynthia H.This was a joke. We arrived to location before 9pm to locked gates with no instruction on where to leave truck. There was a drop box outside the locked gate so we had to leave the truck in an i ideal area with no phone number to call to notify anyone. So disappointed and such a headache.

Sam J.The van I reserved online was not available when I went at the scheduled time to pick it up. I ended up being forced to upsize to a needlessly larger truck. When I signed the contract at the front desk to rent this truck I declined the Safe Move insurance and the Safe Trip fee but was charged for both when I got my receipt through U-Haul via email. In essence they did not cover me with insurance and would have refused to pay if I had damaged the vehicle but then charged me for a coverage I did not sign for and was not provided with. Lastly I drove the truck a total of 18 miles as proven on the odometer and recorded in the actual receipt. I put in 1.5 gallons of gas as the average fuel consumption as estimated on the trucks odometer readout was 11 miles per gallon. The truck had just under 2/3 of a tank of gas when I picked it up and I returned it with the same. I was charged for 6 gallons of fuel!! My bill more than doubled from erroneous charges! The owner of the business is the only one that works there that knew how to actually compete the truck rental and he was not even physically present. I was asked by the employee to take a picture of my credit card which was then texted to the owner! This is another set up for fraud and identity theft. I was forced to ask the worker to take and then delete the photo in front of me. Do not rent equipment from this "establishment". Very unprofessional. the U-Haul franchise should be ashamed to approve it's name and equipment to be managed, or mismanaged in such an unprofessional manner.

Yuriann U.The truck is pretty old. It was pretty shakey at times to drive and felt like it was starting to fall apart. I would recommend selling it and buying a newer truck or at least having a shop look at what is wrong with it. Not sure how old it was but well over 100,000 miles and you felt that. The person working there also felt shady in his demeanor or just not very happy. The door of the uhaul was frozen shut so he came out and whacked some of the ice off but when I went to move my furniture it was still solidly frozen shut. It took over an hour to get the door open. I feel like the uhaul employee should have checked to make sure that the door to the uhaul was functioning properly. I will not go back to this location again. I was also charged $7 for gas when I left slightly more gas in the tank than when I took it out. I mean it is only $7, and I dont mind the $7 but this place felt very shady and I regret going there. There is a nice Uhaul location right off of old Seward, I will definately be using that location next time.
