When I picked up my vehicle (10 minutes late due to the fact the uhaul rep wasn't in!! he was late), the vehicle had needles, trash and a condom inside! Absolutely disgusting especially during a time were covid is high. He didn't even check the van before giving it to me and all he could do is waive $10 for me. Pure bs. Customer service was horrible!

Pay attention, so the reservations are taken correctly. Fix the trucks, so they can take gas, run properly and not cut off. Take the correct gas amount instead of pretending there is more than there is in order to make more money. Have the 3rd parts workers have some semblance of an idea as to what the heck is going on. Clean the truck; it's a pandemic for Christ's sake! Make sure people are there to answer phones at the help desk. Don't tell people to go online for help if no one is available to help; a 57 minute wait before I hung up is ridiculous. And finally get people like Wali, Jessie, and the regional director out so that people can actually get good help and service. DO NOT NOT NOTTTTTTTT get a truck from this location!

Uhaul switched the pickup location the day before which was no convenient for us. The New Castle location is in a drug infested neighborhood. There were no blankets as reserved and the Uhaul guy Wally was late. It was a 10am pickup and someone had been waiting since 8:30 for him. The trailer was clean. My girlfriend witnessed 3 drug deals while we waited for Wally to show up. We were not offered a jack to lift the trailer and had to do it manually. The experience there was unacceptable.

1. This location did not have furniture pads for my rental. It took them about 15 minutes to figure this out. I had already checked in on-line, phoned to confirm the day before, and again about 2 hours before pick-up. I was not charged for pads, which was ok, but I still needed pads. I called the national U-Haul number, and was placed on hold for 20 minutes, and finally gave up. 2. Eventually I was able to locate UHaul rental pads on my own from another UHaul location that was clean and pleasant.

The location area is not the safest but the service was great! I hope I don't get surprise charges! So far under $100.00 insurance included plus $15 for gas wasn't bad! Dolly $10.

Burn it to the ground. There was trash everywhere. Drug deals going on in the parking lot. Homeless person living in the ditch behind the trailer. No one wearing masks. Super sketchy.

This was the 3rd location I had to hunt down for the rental. Rental wasn't there at one the second shop was closed. The 3rd didn't show me how to set up dolly properly for a safe carry

None of lights worked had to retire harness in order to use trailer. It was the only one so didn't have a choice, . There was drug deals going on right out front of store. Had to keep watching my back. Took over 11/2 hours to pick it up once I reached store and I was the only U-Haul customer.

There were people doing drugs behind/inside the trailer when we pulled up to the site. This place was in the "badlands" (behind a gas station/mart) and my wife was concerned that we were going to get robbed. No a U-Haul site, as expected. They asked for my credit card and I told them "NO" it was prepaid. You should fire them.

I have no problem with this particular location. But I didn't have a pleasant experience overall.At first I had booked a 20'truck to pick up at 8:30 am on 29th. The system let me book it. I planned accordingly because I needed to travel to jersey. I booked helping hand at 9 and there in jersey 3. I got a message just right one day before my booking confirmed to pick up at 10 am. I called. They said they can't really do anything. After several times they wanted to try doing another reservation but just right after I gave my card details phone disconnected no one called me then. I had been trying to update my reservation online which I couldn't do through phone and was able to do finally and I got to pick up at 8:30 am from another location. but then guess what. After one hour I got a message confirmed at 10:30 am this time and same location I had the booking at very first. I called did live chat they said will call back and they did. I got it updated by them finally from new castle location at 7:30 am. Which I next day went and picked. I got a call at 11 saying I didn't pick up my truck so they might charge I said I did already from new castle location. Guess what. In system looks like I had two booking. How can be two booking with same reference number. You got to update your system or fix some bugs. The uhall app doesn't work at all sometimes even when have full network. The helping hand movers help at 9 o clock one also didn't call me then. Just texted on his way at 10 o clock. Then at 11 cancelled saying he has car issue. Note he didn't call or picked my call. How unprofessional. Job number JB-60b4421a. I also had Pre paid and didn't get any refund yet.

The location is in a pretty ghetto spot. The folks that work at the counter are very polite and keep the u hauls in an organized and clean state. Definitely would rent again if I was in the area. Make sure you lock your doors if you plan on leaving your car for any period of time.

The location was full of prostitutes and panhandlers. People trying to pump your gas for money. I made a reservation before picking it up. When I went to get the Uhaul that I reserved I thought a man who also was there to rent one was gonna rob me. Worst experience I have ever had. Oh and then they tried to rip me off by telling me to fill the Uhaul up to a half tank when there was less than a quarter tank when I got it!

Don't send any customers to this site to pick up their truck. It is a mess, unorganized and dangerous location. Glass all over the parking lot and people dealing drugs. Could not have been a worse experience. Take away their license!

The area was very sketchy. There were homeless people hanging around the truck when the employee and I went out to get the truck. Also, the gas cap was missing from the truck and the left side mirror was shattered. Truck was clean, employee was helpful.

First of all I chose the original location to pick up the truck so that I could walk to the location from my friend's house where I had to stay for the few days that I was up in Delaware close to my commercial/residential building. I received a call the night before that the truck would not be at this location which made it very difficult to then make arrangements for a ride. I also knew when they gave me the new pick-up location that it was a very rough neighborhood. It is a neighborhood filled with drugs, prostitution, vagrants, etc. I know because I was the former president of the Claymont Business Owners Association and I worked closely with various surrounding neighborhoods in trying to revitalize them. Thank goodness my male friend went with me as I am a middle aged, white female who would have been in a very vulnerable and unsafe situation as many of the loiterers approached us immediately. The man who waited on me, possibly the owner, was very nice and professional. I did not have any issues with him at all. I did however have a problem with the last minute change of pick-up location and the location itself. Thank you for valuing my opinion. Everything was ok, except for the simple fact that there was a light out on the trailer dolly and the guys seemed to not know what he was doing with it. I feel like there should have been a discount offered for that inconvenience or given another option. With that light out on the trailer, there was a good chance we could have been pulled over and given a ticket for a taillight being out, so my question is, who would have paid for that ticket and fine?

Hello, I did say yes, but with some concern. There were a lot of ladies of the night and drug activity happening outside of the store. The manager called the police due to the activity. The location is out in the open, so not overly concerned about safety.

My concerns were not with the truck but rather with the process. I completed everything online, even spoke to a rep from U haul on the phone who told me to do everything online which would speed up the process when checking in and or out. First I was sent to a specific location to pick up a 26' truck. This was suppose to be the only location that had that length of a truck close to my area, even though I drove by numerous places closer to me that had several of these truck sitting. When I checked in: FIRST; the location was in the middle of the ghetto (3006 New Castle Avenue 19720) SECOND; I was approached by a prostitute who offered quit a deal, but this was still a no go for me, and if that was not enough as I took a few steps from her I was offered some drugs. THIRD; As I approached the store to enter there was a male subject asking for money. Once I got into I was overwhelmed by all the bullet proof glass surrounding the workers. After waiting five or so minutes for somebody to help me I was approached by a woman who could barely speak English, but new how to reach and receive my debit card like a champ. SOOOOOO..... this added about a twenty to twenty five minute process to me picking up the t ruck due to her lack of English (even though I filled everything out online like I was told to by the U haul rep). So I finally get on my way. When I returned the truck, ( A day early, with an extra quarter tank of fuel, I was still charged the same price). Again I went through the same process to get into the store, prostitution and drug offers only to wait again. Finally I a male subject helped me ( again who could barely speak English) and checked me out per say. He went outside and verified the truck was returned (I'm assuming) then asked me if the hand cart was in the back. I t old him I never had a hand cart. Then he proceeded to check me out. So after about twenty minutes or so I finally was able to return the truck. Meanwhile Why my ride was waiting in the parking lot with my child in the car he was approached by several people who wanted to sell drugs, or asking money. ( 4 people to be exact ) After that point he drove across the street to sit and wait for me to be checked out. U haul. First; you may want to find safe locations. I'm not going to identify my job for security purposes however I work on the streets within this county. This is one of the most unsafe places one could go. Second; I'm not sure how this company determines where somebody should pick up a truck but there were at least 5 different U haul locations with multiple 26' trucks closer to me then this location was. Third; This ghetto ass area is beyond dangerous to send people. you might want to reconsider this area all together. Fourth: U haul might want to consider people who can speak English (after all we are in America) and who do not reach out and wiggle their fingers to a customer indicating give me your debit card. The side mirror on the passenger side kept moving which cause me to be blind on that side. I had to pull over and fix the mirror 3 times. The location was not where i had my reservation and they did not have a 10 ft truck which I had requested. I had to drive an extra 15 miles round trip to my daughter school and now I am being charged for extra miles on my trip. I am also being charged 23.85 of fuel cause the fuel is 1/7 lower than what i pick p. I filled the truck to where i got it and its impossible to get it exactly right. I have used U-haul many times and this is the first time I was very disappointed with your service.

This place SHOULD NOT be in the business of renting U-hauls!!! Not in a neighborhood that I'd wish on anyone, literally almost a gun fight in the parking lot while I was trying to secure my rental. Now stuck dealing with the incorrect rate being charged as I had told the person at the time of the rental. Where's the quality control???? Unbelievable!!

This is a high crime area. The trucks should be thoroughly cleaned( cab/cargo area). The trucks need to be secured and checked more often for outside damage. The trucks also need to be checked for paraphernalia ( such as needles, pills ect.).

The area is a high crime area. The Service Station is "rundown" looking and is scarey to enter. WE had a problem with settlement and had to keep the truck and the attendant called me everyday demanding for me to return the truck when I couldn't.

Bad experience. Ordered a truck. Confirmed a truck. Arrived to pick up truck. No truck. Man behind counter was rude, arrogant and confrontational. Gave us the 800 number and essentially told us it was our problem, deal with it. Will never consider this establishment for any reason.

Trucks were very banged up and ran terribly. Also location was in a rough part of town and the gas station/parking lot was very run down and when I asked if they sold and packing supplies he spent 10 minutes on the phone with his boss asking where they keep that stuff only to find out they didn't have any.

get them more training had 9am app. to pick up truck left three at 10.30 am brought back truck at 6.30 pm same day and they charge me for two days. I went to get paper work and found that out took three days to get back the over charge.

1). I expected my rental vehicle to be ready for pickup at 4:00 PM at my "prefered location" , when I arrived I was told they did not have my truck and suggested I check my reservation, I then found out that the truck was to be picked up at another location "in new Castle about 12 miles away. When I arrived at 6:55PM I was advised that the truck was on it's way , it arrived at 7:00 PM. 3 hours later than I expected it. I left work 2 hours early to be able to pick the truck up on time! AS a result of this I was more than 3 hours delayed in getting the truck loaded and on the road to drop off mu cargo. 2). I did not feel safe at the pickup location at all, drug sales and prostitution happening on the property . 3). When I returned the truck with a ful ltank of fuel I was advised that there would be approx $300.00 in additional charges. (We reconciled this on the phone with uhaul but it was just the icing on the cake. The vehicle was clean and worked as expected.

There was no one there to help me get the equipment together or explain the equipment to me. I was given the keys and told to match up the the number on the invoice to the license plate on the vehicle. Luckily there were only 6 vehicles on the lot. Having never rented or driven a box truck and never used a trailer I figured out how to get them attached. I also realized I needed to get a connection for the trailer lifghts and brakes the gas station attendant had forgotten. As I was unsure as to what to do I searched YouTube for instructions. Then information there was informative-- for instance the video explained how to lock down the hitch which I had not done. The gas station attendant was pleasent and apologetic as he was interrupted at least half a dozen times during my checkout to attend to customers buying gas, cigarettes and drinks. All in all, not a good experience.

I would never recommend any to call this location to rent a truck, attended was very rude and not understanding at all he see my reservation for the UHal truck that it was for 2 days and told me he was not going to rent the truck to me for 2 days and to call some one eles, I would never send anyone to this location.
