One very rude man. I have a witness that he said I could pay the next day with cash knowing I had only $92.00 on my card, the bill was 94.++ he told me he would only pre authorize until the next day. sadly he went ahead and charged my account. He hollered at for returning the key into the red box after he said to put the key there. I will never use this company ever again. Don't allow the reservation system to go down on the day supposed to pick-up a truck, which throws off all precise logistical planning to move within scheduled perameters.

The truck I got had issues with the breaks sticking and it didn't always shift itself into gear right. Also, when we got there the manager (or whoever he was) didn't seem to interested in helping us but instead stopped to talk to another person leaning on his truck out front of the area. That guy actually had to tell him he should wait on his customers! We finally had to say "can you please help us get a U-Haul?" And even while waiting on us, other people came in and the guy would start talking to them and we just were put on hold so to speak.

Received the U-box in Coos Bay, OR, with wet packing pads. Unusable. The person who delivered the box was no help and had the personality of a piece of toast. When the U-box arrived in Surry, ME, the owner delivered the U-box himself and helped unload, a total contrast to the help in Coos Bay. Pete at the Surry end was an asset to the U-Haul team. He took pride in his work. Pete redeemed my opinion of U-Haul.

Return agent called after we dropped off the vehicle to claim we had caused a ding in the driver side door. We caused no such damage, nor was a customary walk-around check performed at either pick up or drop off location. While we did purchase insurance, and would gladly accept responsibility had we caused any damage, to be accused of such after the fact left a seriously bad impression. Won't be dealing with the Surry rental location again, and will seek other options in the future.

The truck was in good shape. The owner Pete was a nice guy. But I was overcharged for the rental. I called to have it fixed but it has been over 24 hours and I haven't received an email that it has been fixed and money returned. Also, when I first showed up to rent the truck, Pete just assumed that I wanted extra insurance and billed me for it and then had to cancel the bill when I said I didn't want it anymore. He had to call a supervisor or help desk to do that which took more time. The experience was not as seamless as I am used to with other Uhaul dealers.

Uhaul messed up our truck location and we ended up having to drive an extra 16 miles, costing us time and money. When I tried to get mileage compensation the manager said via email that he couldn't locate our order. Not renting from uhaul again.

Someone had had an accident with the 10' truck I ordered, so they gave me a 26' truck to use instead for the same price (it was all that was available). It was a bit daunting to drive, but everything still went smoothly, and they gave me a break on the mileage cost because of the truck size issue.
